Other is brain boss. I'm not feeling the nanotech idea much anymore, since nobody's taken to it and it dilutes the level. So this is a more parasitic version of the previous design.
I thought it would be crazily cool for the near death game if as well as increasing the rate of fire on the spine lasers, that a second spine bursts out of the front of the brain.

Couple of boss concepts before bed:
First is a wormapede one, bit of a backtrack on my previous idea since the segements alignment will stay vertical.
The segments shoot straight down.
The 'arm' guns shoot ... stuff
and the mouth charges up a shot (pattern on back) before blasting a large radial shot.
Before death, the shell comes off and you can see the jelly like nucleus inside, which drives the wormapede bonkers.

- We definetely don't have enough ideas for the background floating about.
- We need more work on the final bosses.
- Threadwood's going to be joining in, and it'd be much better if he had some input.

The initial stage hasn't been finished yet; it's still green. It'd be ideal if we had a stronger feel for these ideas than what we've got so far.

Next meeting's 29th November 15:30 NG Time (20:30 GMT), btw.

That ear's really high up, too.

Really nice colours, btw.

That's cool. nice one! Think you may want to reconsider the form of attack, though, since it's a shott em up and close combat attacks are a bit naff (unless they're rockartofwar's crab, of course)

I was thinking there's not enough minion designs, so I've kind've gone shit crazy with them.
Checking out UltraPitchFork's awesome surreal tank design reminded me of summat to do with symmetrical designs.

Starting off with asymmetrical ideas:

That would count, yes. If they don't admit to tracing, it gets deleted since they haven't submitted original art.

s'funny Peter said that, cos it mostly reminds me of the colourful fight scenes in Tekkonkinkreet.
Your stuff is pretty cool, I like the dynamicism, the harsh jagged linework and the bold sharp colours.
I'm pretty surprised the Invader Zim is your last submission in this thread, cos the glow effects are a step backward.
I really like the busier pics, but I think you should control them rather than cluttering them together, so they're easier to take in.

Hope you can move out of using popular characters from your stuff, too. Think there's some originality in you.

Mm didn't go so well! Not many people online.
I guess I'm ordering these things to close together, so people don't think it's worth showing up.

So, next meeting: 29th November 15:30 NG Time (20:30 GMT)
That should give more than enough time to finalise the concept stage, and work out what we should develop and organise stuff.

Really hope that in this coming fortnight we get to see
- more background developments from our group, since we're a bit thin on them
- develop the final boss, possibly organise lower bosses
- tinker with the playable char design (altho to me, I think it just needs developing)

Hope this works out better for our group!

Righto, I'll send PMs out, but just to point out:

Next Cell Level Meeting is at 14:30 NG Time (19:30 GMT)
That's changed, so it's a friendlier time to everybody.
What we'll be going through:
- Review last week's minutes.
- Present concepts in alphabetical order.
- Consider areas to be developed in the following week.
- Finalise certain concepts, and prepare to develop them.
- Meeting review.

Righteo.

Had another go at playable char designs.
At the moment, I'm leaning toward D and F. F is a bit more of a simpler design, where the shots are just bacterial organisms at the front of the ship and pods, which then produce different shots.

... you may have noticed I'm leaning towards sperm designs, which I think some have problem with. If you do, just say so, and if it extreme amount, we'll reconsider it.
