No- like take a drawing I made and put it on top of an old black-and-white photo.

A Wacom pad Is what I am planning on getting.

That's more or less about the same thing.........drawings, cartoons, comix, etc. are actually easier to cut and paste with PS than real photos IMO.

I was thinking of getting a drawing pad, but I saw a sweet deal on an M1A National Match. I have other interests, too.

I want to create comic book art with Photoshop- is this the ideal program for that?

You might want to invest in a drawing tablet.

The Soviets, as bad as we make them out to be, were actually sane. During the Cuban missile crises, Nikita Khrushchev asked one of his advisers what would be the amount of Soviet casualties after a nuclear exchange with the US. He literally turned white as a ghost when he heard the answer......"A thousand Stalingrads!". His negotiations became more amenable after that.

Photoshop is fairly easy. Flash is giving me some fits (Pisses me off, I could make a few extra $$$ helping on some local TV commercials) . Quark and Illustrator, I'm not familiar with.

About $1000 for the really good stuff.

Hint: write something like "Professional Animator" or "Advertising media consultant" on your IRS form 1040 and you can write it off on your taxes. This also includes vidcams, cameras, computers, and other related items.

I read somewhere about the steel, I think it was in a book I read a few years ago. Here is a link about the German copy of the T-34 and how it evolved into the PZKW V Panther.

The T-34 evolved frome the Soviet BT series of tanks, which, in turn, evolved from the designs of J. Walter Christie.

Despite all of the hoopla about the T-34 (Usually from young Communists who know nothing of war), the Panther was superior to the T-34 in most ways except for its ease of manufacture (This made the T-34 a war-winner), ease of maintenance, and it's diesel engine.

Response to: Why hasn't China bought the US yet? Posted April 12th, 2012 in General

China lacks the sealift capability to invade Taiwan, much less the US all the way across the US Navy infested Pacific. Their navy generally sucks. Having a ground force of 1.6 million is useless unless you can get them where they need to be.

As far as nuclear capability goes, all China has about 50 - 75 warheads that can actually reach the US. Their SLBMs are noisy pieces of shit and their bomber force is a joke (The Xian H-6 is a copy of the old, Soviet Tu-16 Badger which first flew in 1952).

The US has about 500 warheads on about 450 ICBMs. Along with that, we also have nearly 2700 warheads on our Trident II SLBMs and about 400 aerial bombs, most which can hit China.

Yup. Israel and the Arabs. Tribal warfare in Africa gone wild with AK-47s. Nazi skins. All the ethnic violence in the Balkans. Tuareg separatists in Mali. Al Qaeda........ I could spend a week looking up and identifying organized groups that hate each other for one reason or another.

I will agree that drugs are more of a problem though. It's a vice that goes beyond race, country, age, sex, and social class.

If you think about it, in it's pretty strange that alcoholism and drug addiction, along with death, are the least racist, sexist, and judgmental things on this planet.

With the slow invasion of the U.S. by Mexican cartels and the so-called "meth wave", it's really only a matter of time before we citizens of the U.S. start to demand action. Even the most socially liberal of people will have to take a stand against drugs before long.

I hope they hurry up........I actually live in Zeta territory........I sleep with an AR-15 close by.

Drugs.
