How does killing foxes maintain the ecosystem? If anything it fucks up the ecosystem. Foxes eat things like rabbitss and small birds and the like. If the number of foxes depletes the number of animals that foxes eat will rise which would mean whatever they eat would go down etc and the whole ecosystem gets fucked up.
Besides its just plain cruel to hunt foxes for fun. IF there was a particular fox in an area that was killing all the chickens or summit then I could understand wanting to take him out but most of the foxes that get hunted are mile away from any buildings or farms.
