I reckon I'm going to miss TKD training that weekend so I can arrive on time. How long does it take by National Express or whatever from London to Brum?

It's like a 2 hour trip going from Euston to New Street Station I *think* though don;t quote me on it. I've only done the journey once or twice.

Response to: Terrorists needs to face reality Posted February 13th, 2009 in Politics

At 2/12/09 05:13 PM, Drakim wrote: Quite frankly, to bring down the west is an impossible goal.

Not really. We're doing a pretty good job of it ourselves.

Seriously, the best you can hope to achieve is create a little unwarranted short-lived fear, and possibly stronger anti-terrorist laws.

And judging by the reactions of the west in resposne to terrrorism these laws will go agaisnt the founding traditions of Liberal democracy and turn us into authoritarian states. In that sense the ' West' would be destoryed and be on a more similar line to that of the Terrorists who would quite happy install authoritarian rule wherever they tread.

If you consider the aims of Terrorists ( stupidly broad term btw, there is no universal terrorist agenda) to be the utter destruction of the west then they are actually help to achieve that.

But here is the thing. The west isn't helpless against terrorism. We aren't at the mercy of the Islamists which wants to hurt the western societies. We actually posses enough power to completely grind the very homeland of any terrorist into fine dust. We possess the ability to at ease erase any person in the middle east, his family, his dog, his entire village, and every single person he has ever talked to. We could make the land into one big barren and empty desert, where even plants and insects cannot survive. We could erase them from history to the point where not a single person knows they ever existed. It would have been as if this person was never even born.

Unfortunately we the people do not posses the power, or at least excercise it if we ar ein posssesion, to stop our glorious leaders acting as though we are helpless agaisnt terrorism and implementing ridiculous schemes such as ID Cards contianing Biometic data which have been said to be of use in the fight against terror and yet MI6 have said that they would make no difference in battling terrorism( to use a british example).

Erosion of civil liberties ftw!

Terrorists aren't destorying the west directly, and you're correct in your assertation that they can't achieve that aim, but they are giving our leaders an excuse to do it for them.

Undoubetdly you will continue to grow. Most people don't stop growing till they're aropund about 18.

What do you think bout weightlifting and "stunting growth" myth?

To my knowledge its crap.

Any other advice or info?

Get over it. height is a stupid thing to be worried about. You aren't even that short, so even if you don't grow anymore you'll still be around about average or their abouts.

No, twice no, and thrice no for good measure. Snow is only good in the evening when you're pissing about with your mates. It is not good for the rest of the day when you have to walk along icy pavements on hills, get into lectures to find they are cancelled cause the lecturer 'couldn't get in due to the snow', and then fall on your arse whilst climbing up the steps of the library due to the ice...

Response to: Nudity with backpacks Posted January 31st, 2009 in Politics

The problem with this whole thing is that we're viewing nakedness as being a sexual thing, and as we want to protect kids from sexuality till they are old enough for it, we think that nakedness in front of them is bad. Problem is nakedness is not neccessarily sexual. It's only sexual if you *make it* that way. Nakedness is natural, more so than being clothed really. Teach your kids that and approach the subject in a sensible manner when it comes up and you won't have any problems.

Your more likely to scar a kid mentally by nannying the poor bastard and prohibiting him from seeing anything even remotely morally dubious, than letting him see somes random dudes tackle when you're out hiking on a mountain trail.

I seem to recall Tom or one of the other admins saying that they disabeld people from taking that name, one reason being that it would screw up something on the site, and also because they didn't want people using the name Newgrounds as an account name.

Sorry to hear about all the shit mate. Wish I could offer some advice, but the best I can come up with is just dont give up and look for job sin other areas you might not have looke din before. I know flipping burgers isn't that appealing, but working in fastfood places willg et you some cash, and some of thema re doing quite well in the current economic climate ( Dominoes specifically) so they're more likely to be looking for people to hire.

Best of luck old chap. Stiff upper lip and hope it goes well for you.
