Oops TV which started airing a few months ago on Sky One is fucking awful. You'd think Justin Lee Collins and funny videos put together would make an excellent combination, but I hate that show with all my heart for being an unfunny piece of shit.

You've Been Framed is much better, and then even more Harry Hill with TV Burp <3

Topic: Installing games to the xbox 360 HD

Posted: 11/21/09 06:52 PM

Forum: Video Games

That site is hardly helpful considering the majority of games listed don't have a comparison and isn't that up to date.

Anyway, I have a 60GB hard-drive and have installed a few things on to it. It's in my best interest for a few games as the disc reader in my xbox is fucked and usually won't recognise discs, even if they're completely new. It does it with MW2 and I have to eject and wipe it a few times before it'll work.

Although, when playing any Guitar Hero games, the lag between songs is cut down pretty severely. Maybe 5 seconds between choosing a song and it playing, if restarting a song, it takes like 2 seconds. It dramatically cuts down the time when playing Soul Calibur 4, too. Same with MW2.

All the games I play often are installed to the hard-drive as it just makes things easier. Obviously if I ever find myself running out of hard-drive space, I'll just uninstall one, but I don't have any need to so I'm going to keep at this.

Depends what kind of gamer you are to be honest. If you love completing quests and grinding with friends then you should probably get Borderlands. If you like more independent gameplay with lots of things to discover and a much more expansive world, go for Fallout 3.

No because they don't violate WoW's terms and conditions and considering it's a WoW related issue, it's allowed.

On reflection, for an extra £10 or £20 a month, an account should be upgraded to Platinum where that user is then allowed 3 free DLC of any cost and a monthly spending limit.

Then again, that's exactly the same thing as buying gamerpoints to spend except it's in one payment.

How do you think we should deal with these users? Should we delete them from the leaderboard?

You should probably PM a warning to users like this, stating they'll be removed from the leaderboard within 3 days unless they can prove they're still active.

2) Some of you were discussing the fact that Jerich0 has been banned from Xbox Live for modding his console. Do you think he, and other modders if we discover any, should be allowed to stay on the leaderboard?

I suppose so if they're using it to get achievements. Otherwise, I don't see a problem with it as this is a leaderboard ranked on gamerscore

3) : Would you be happy to see this system put into place?

Yes. I'd like that although there's the issue with having a limited number of friends on a list.

4) Are you happy with the minimum requirement of 500 posts to join? Would you like to see it removed, lowered or maybe even increased?

Don't really care in all fairness about this one. It's etchy anyway. There are some very inactive users with +500 posts and users with <500 posts that are considered very active.

5) If some or all of these things were to happen, particularly number 3, do you think it would be a good idea to lock this thread and start a new one with the rules firmly set out in the first post?

I was going to write no at first, but when thinking about it, anyone who wants to join either skips to the last page immediately or just skims over the first page. There needs to be somewhere that we can write the new rules for everyone to see, which of course, will be on the front page, so there's no excuse for ignorance. So yeah, new thread.

You might like it, I actually tried getting into it, I forced myself to play it few 2 weeks and I just couldn't enjoy playing it, it bored the hell out of me. Far too slow for my tastes.

Sort of similar. The first time I ever played it, this is exactly what happened. I was bought into it with promises of it being "A complete life-sucker" which in my head, I thought it meant "YOU'LL HAVE SO MUCH FUN YOU'LL NEVER WANT TO LOG OFF." But it didn't suck my life and I wasn't having all that much fun. After a month of on and off play and deciding I didn't want to play it anymore, I reached level 28 and gave up because it was boring the shit out of me.

Then I picked it up again a bit later and played it abit more, I missed having an MMORPG to waste my time on so just thought I may as well spend £10 to renew it. To my surprise, I was having more fun this time round, although I did eventually stop playing at around level 40 or so.

Then I bought more! It was okay for a few weeks, got to level 62 and then couldn't be arsed anymore.

Not played it again since although might pick it up again when Cataclysm comes out in a year.

I think it really depends on the type of gamer you are. Me and DumbassDude are the type of gamer that prefer a good grinding session on Runescape compared to WoW.

Yeah, I once caught myself doing that. Nothing's quite as frightening as doing something down there and having it go wrong. Even if it's just a cut that would, if on any other part of your body, be harmless, the fact that it's on your nuts makes it even worse.

I don't mind a little bit, but if it's like the 2009 rendition of Jungle Book down there, then you can forget me doing anything anytime soon.

I personally shave. The first time I ever did it, it stung for a bit and was such a pain to walk with, but I did it more often and now it's just natural. Try to keep away from shaving your balls. If it's amazingly out of control, just get some scissors and be extremely careful.

Dragon Age, I'm sure ACII is great but Dragon's Age is so completely in depth and replayable.

I actually solved my problem. My friend has it but isn't really enjoying it that much so I'm going to borrow it off him. Scooore.

I s'pose I can save my money for AC2 then at the moment or at least wait til' christmas rolls round.

Aye, I'm the same with that one. After first getting it around christmas, I wasn't impressed with it. There was no stealth aspect to it as you were spotted miles away, so even when you were sniping shit, you just constantly were under threat. Then I got another game, can't remember what, but I never went back to Farcry and it's a pity because I was quite far through it.

I've just done the same to Borderlands too. Stopped playing because I got MW2. Ironic they have the same engine.

or played on again, because a better game came out.

Have you ever been in the situation where you're straggling through a game that's not bad. It's not amazing but it's holding your attention for a bit, and you think of continuing to play because you want to finish. Then a game comes that you've been wanting for ages, you stick it in and you're hooked. All of a sudden, that old game is cast to the shadows and you never give it a second look.

This has happened to me so many times and even when I think about it, I can't bring myself to play them again.

Has this happened to you?

Topic: Why is pokemon going nowhere?

Posted: 11/16/09 12:32 PM

Forum: Video Games

Why is it that the Pokemon franchise hasn't really improved in the gameplay sense for so many years. Everyone loved Pokemon red, blue and somewhat yellow. Then gold and silver came out and we were greeted with new experiences but realised we were playing the same game. Then sequel after sequel followed. Crystal, Sapphire and Ruby, Fire Red and Leaf Green, Emerald, Diamond and Pearl and finally, Platinum.

Now, quite an incredible record for Nintendo, Game Freak and Creatures inc. There's over 10 games there, although understandably, less than half of them are the same game with slight differences. All released for handheld consoles, excusing the half-assed console version of it like the Gamecube attempt and coliseum spin-off. Other than that, players haven't been introduced to any new gameplay elements in the games. You're still wandering in 4 different directions, catching a now, insane number of creatures and beating the bad guys with the pokemon you levelled up.

Sure, now and then there's a graphical update, new mini-games to try and different ways to explore the world e.g. underwater in Ruby and Sapphire. Other than that, there's been no real improvement. We still hold in our hearts the early pokemon games as fantastic whilst the new ones get less and less interesting to us veterans, so why is Nintendo failing so hard?

I for one don't have a problem that it has to keep to the 'kid' element and don't mind that it can't get anymore graphic or adult, so it doesn't have to increase in that way. Why hasn't there been a console version of Pokemon implemented that sticks to the classic ways of Pokemon but is able to implement a lot more features like changing landscapes, catching pokemon in varied ways, levelling up moves as well as pokemon. Obviously, we'd keep to the original 151 Pokemon but make a whole new adventure.

Am I the only one that would love to see this or is there a public agreement that there should be a console version of a pokemon game that sticks to the whole 'catch them all' with the original 151 Pokemon but less linear gameplay and new features installed.
