Why isn't Xbox selling well in Japan? Because the Japanese are not interested in it. Why is the Xbox beating the Gamecube in Europe? Because of a 4-free game deal. Before that came about, the Gamecube had a lead over the Xbox in Europe. Why is Gamecube last in the US? Because there's this thing that has been burned into the minds of casual gamers that the Gamecube is a system for kids. Far too many teens thinking that owning an Xbox instead will make them 'cooler' than the rest. Wheeee.
no. all your reasons are wrong, stop trying to blame everyone else.
GC isn't selling because
A) people wanted a game like Mario 64 not the weird Super Mario Sunshine
B) people dont want N64 ports like animal crossing, they want animal crossing with updated graphics, sound and gameplay
C) people didn't want Pikmin or Luigu's mansion, 2 games with 0 replay value
D) people don't want to be forced to buy a GBA to take advantage of extra features in the games, PS2 and XBOX don't make you buy addons to see extras. You just unlock and play
E) Games for GC come out maybe once every 2 months, nobody wants to wait that long between games.
Those are the reasons. Its not MS's fauly, its not Sony's fault, it's Nintendos fault. They simply don't know how to run a business and make some really strange decisions, like the new FF:CC game that will require you to have a GBA hooked up at all times to play -- who will want that and think it will be a big seller?
Square made the mistake once of thinking people would see something because it had the name Final Fantasy in the title -- boy were they wrong, Spirits Within nearly destroyed them. And Nintendo is on the same track.
