yes greece didn't even exist it was separate cities but athens did have elections, a sort of parlement (it was a first attempt, any athenian attanding could vote) the weirdest thing was that they had what you could call a lottery to select some of the leaders
i don't remember everything really well but it is a "rough draft" of a democraty, but there was not one leader (not a president or a king) but a group of people(14 i think, 7 for domestic affairs, 7 for forein affairs) and theoreticle they all had the ame power, but in reality some were really more respected than others and could influence everybody(like socrates for exemple
