Meh. I would look into it, but I've already pretty much sold my soul to RoK. Don't have time for a fourth web game.

They have a video for it on their site. Pretty good. Haven't heard them on the radio, but I don't exactly listen to the thing much what with having a CD palyer and all.
God I'm getting bad about posting. Damn Rise of Kingdoms and it's addictiveness. Not to mention it's chat. Hell I just wasted half a day in there, and I should have been studying for my calc final Monday. 0.0 Ah well.

That's nice we're talking about on-line games. Stuff like Nation States. Now kindly pull your head out of your ass before you post again. :)

Is there anything these self righteous assholes in the Bush administration won't try to pull? Why doesn't he just out and declare himself dictator for life? It would shorten things up so the US populus can finally hang his ass for treason. No political wrangling to get the Republican House to intiate impeachment, so Senate trial just a judge and Bush's statement. Well and the rope later.

You don't like to read a lot, but you post on the BBS? Whatever. :\
A fair amount of reading is required since the game is all text based, but you get to kill and pillage and steal and just in general run a kingdom however you see fit. That is so long as you defend the kingdomso there's a kingdom to run.
By the way the site has been having email problems. I tried to get the email address to send a confirmation code request to, but DZL (one of the game's creators) logged off the chat before I could get an answer. I'll hopefully have that to post tomorrow (checks watch) well later today to be accurate, but you get the idea
I found a link toIthis game on Ctrl-Alt-Del and have been playing for over a month now. It kicks ass, wage war, build an empire, and assemble a mighty army. Build a den of thieves to rob your enemies blind it's great. I strongly suggest you try it out.

They knew passage through the Van Allan belts would be dangerous even at that speed and they knew the astronaughts would be bombarded with minute particles and be exposed to various other space hazards (the suits are on display, with tiny dents and scratches for all to see). They just didn't CARE. They wanted to prove it could be done and were willing to risk everything to back that up. Sure, it was a calculated, educated risk but at the time they really had no idea what would actually happen. Afterwards they were able to claim all went according to plan.
See this is the attitude we need to take with going to Mars. I mean if a graphing calculator straped to a supped up bottle rocket can get us to the Moon what the hell is keeping us from getting to Mars. Fear. That and a few months travel time. That is it.

Trust me that does suck. Damn Texas heat! Not mention if it's fucking hot and your already down to just your pants and shirt there's not a lot you can do, whereas in the cold you can always just put on more clothes.
What about going from Senate to Presidency or House to Presidency. To limit someone from seeking a given office because they haven't held a lower version of that office would keep quite few very qualified people from getting to higher office. And having nationally set term limits on state government posts is in blantant violation of states' rights. Then there's the problem of setting term limits on legislative positions. With the committee system this would put high volumes of people, with little to no experience in their committee's area of concern, in power. Term limits prevent people from getting good enough at legislating for a given area to be effective in any manner.
And how does any of this have to deal with the bureaucratic monstrousity that is the US government? The cause of big government is the people's demand for more services and the need for other services not even conceivable during Framing.

Maybe instead of demanding someone do something to please you a lil more, how about you educate yourselves a little more, problem solved.
I know, getting educated may not seem fair to you, but thats life.
See, problem is I do know that Islam isn't a religion of hate. Education not required. As for the common American, well just look at your average high school student and you'll see how willing they are be educated let alone educate themselves.
It's not a matter of pleasing anyone, it's a matter of who the message is reaching. If it doesn't reach anyone except those who already know the truth then it's wasted effort. Whereas if they were to take they're message to a public enough forum that the average American would see it then it would yeild results. Sure not many people would be receptive, but, like the civil rights movement, this isn't a process that will bring about change rapidly. We're talking about changing a cultural perception this cannot happen overnight.
Slowly though those few reached will grow and change will happen.

You didn't need to put it in the headline for me to figure it out. States that repeal sensible laws like that need a change of legislature.
Don't forget Florida also passed that stand your ground law that let's you pull a gun on anyone you feel is threatening you. 0.0

See but here we can talk to many people all at once. It's like saying because you can talk to one person alone you'll never talk in a group. the lounge won't die, even if I have to post in here all by my self. I need something weird to set me out from the crowd anyway, and split personalities would be cool. I could just say it was bizzarro Jason's fault. :)
Hell nearly every food product has some problem like this. Milk has a significant amount of puss in it due to all the antibiotic injections the cows recieve to stimulate growth, just as an example. If it's not killing thousands then it's not that bad.
I don't care so much that they repealed mandatory helmets, but that they left seat belt laws standing. Both or none damn it!

I know CBC carries stories of muslims denouncing the acts, try a different news agency. And FOX won't show anything like a major Muslim cleric denouncing terror acts, that would decrease the number of ignorant americans who think islam is a religion of hate.
American have internet, they can see these statements. But they prefer to watch FOX and go with whatever guys like O'reilly have to say.
Besides, lost blondes in Aruba are better ratings than some old muslim dood bitchin about terror attacks.
Sure they don't have control of what makes US news, but they do know what US news channels show. They can thus voice their opposition to terrorism in a way that will catch the news' attention. Like it or not the innocent MUST prove their innocence in the court of public opinion. And to do that effectively they have to been seen and heard by that court's jury, the common American. Which means getting on FOX and CBS news, not the internet. The people who get their news off the internet with enough regularity to notice such a denunciation are usually smart enough to already know that Islam doesn't preach hate.
It may not be right or fair, but that is life.

Yeah that's all good and well, but what should be happening is loud, clear, HIGHLY public denounciations. Shit that would make the U.S. news services and not just Al Jahzerra(sp). If Fox ain't willing to carry it it's not public enough. In a day and age where most Americans think Islam IS a religion of hatred, those who practice and know otherwise should be making loud statements in a form where Americans can see it.

Yes, I live in the south and trust me, there are lots of people who have confederate flags on their things. Also, lots of kids in the south wouldn't mind breaking off from the "yanks."
It's really bad in Texas. Were I not so proud of it, I'd almost never mention I'm a Yankee. A lot of people down here treat it like it makes me retarded, or evil.

Just one question JoS, you do know this was done before? It was a thread titled "what can't you get sue win" or something like that. It was around when I first started posting. Ask around, especially Jimsween. The whole thing boiled down to a discussion of the McDonald's law suit where the lady spilled coffee on herself.

Yeah you get upset. You bitch and moan. But you don't go trying to break off from the country. I voted for Kerry. That didn't pan out, but I'm still here. The point is that if a country gets so far to one extreme on anyone issue that alienates a group of people significant enough for them to contemplate, seriously at least, secesion then something is more than likely wrong.
Now I'll grant you the Civil War, but that's the one in a million times where a fairly large group was VERY wrong on an issue.
On a side note learn to spell. I can read letters from my five year old cousin easier. >:(
