Response to: Getting very sick of the chat. Posted March 19th, 2001 in General

holy fuck! has everyone lost sight? it's called chat for a reason!

i don't go in there for power, i just want to chat. i'd like to drop by every once in a while to say "hey" to people that i don't usually normally get to see. what's the big fuss about being an Op or a vOp or whatever those are. I just wanna talk.

quit bitching about the problem, we have all identified it. what about solutions?

Ops are great, but i mean we don't necessarily need them. well, they get rid of a few advertisers and spammers, but those can all be avoided. they don't necessarily bother me.

if it's at all possible (which it probably isn't), i'd like to see some form of chat that's more democratic, so everyone has equal power. such as you can vote to have people booted.

that'd take away the power of the (some say) "unfair Ops". Then lamers could no longer blame the Ops and truely know that they bugged everyone. also, everyone would have equal power and wouldn't go through these popularity struggles.

hmm, could ross develop something like this as a side project (as if he doesn't have enough to do)...

sorry if i got a few facts mixed up, i'm pretty new to the chat.

This is the day that I have dreamed about, this is the day that changes my life, this is the day that I am no longer confined by the bonds of servitude, yes my friends, this was my last day in the military. Never again will I be forced to awaken at 4 in the morning to stand around and be bored, wet and cold. Never again will I be forced to walk around a building 5 times to pick up cigarette butts, never again shall I be forced to be my country's bitch.

I have learned some valuable lessons from the military. I have faithfully served my country as I had agreed to. I performed my duties to the best of my ability (not to say I didn't bitch about it, nor that I never tried to get out of it) but my time is served, that path is behind me, and now I look forward to a future unfettered by the responsibility I so long endured. I am no longer a citizen-soldier, I am a civilian, and on this day, I am happy.

thanks for serving our country. america doesn't show enough respect for it's soldiers. i have people like you to thank for making our country safe from foreign invasion (or at least for the time being).

i get so tired of hearing guys say "this fine female" or "i met this female" etc. it's as if she is just tits, hips, ass, and cooch. what's up with that?

i just watched this thing about those attacks on women in Central Park, where the guys ripped off their clothes. and one of the guys they talked to said "the guys said, 'we can do anything we want to these females.'" so what is a female as opposed to a woman? i have questions!!!

you don't hear chicks sitting around going "hey look at that hot male!"

since when is female a derogatory word? we just use it because it's another word for chick, woman, etc.

female is just like stud-muffin in a way.... :D

i'd have to disagree with you there.

i think flash games are corny, and don't really entertain me that much. movies have a lot more. maybe it's just that Flash is limitted, or programmers don't know enough, but the only ones I like are Tom Fulp's games (like Pico or UFA which are fun). Because he has good ideas, along with genius programming. i mean, combat instinct wasn't that great, and sure as hell didn't have great graphix. i think it's overhyped. i beat the thing first time through. it was easy. you just klik the people that pop up. that's not fun, and has no replay value. they're just not entertaining.

hmmm, maybe it's just the point and click games and pacman. even the rpg. they've all been done. hell, make that: they've all be OVER-done. Come up with something new and it'll be fun.

i'd much rather have a movie that makes me laugh, makes me feel an emotion (such as sadness, etc.), but most of all entertains me. The Final Task was eye candy and was really fun to watch, while Combat Instinct wasn't so pleasing with the clashing bright colors and often lagging graphix.

just my 1 cent (screw you, i'm poor).

Hmm, I thought the Ops were nice, although they played some tricks on me, like vOped me and then took it off. Or something like that.

I don't have IRc, so I use java, which crashes my comp half the time. Think Ross could program one with something else? Or do i have to get IRc?

Democracy in my opinion, is the Best form of government. Today, in my opinion, we live in a semi-socialist government. The government controls basically every aspect of our lives. Example: No smoking in businesses. What the fuck is that? If i owned a business, and the government stepped in and said "You cant smoke" i'd say, "Fuck you! Its my business, my property and im not listening!". The i would get any business licenses that i had rovoked, go to jail, go out of business, go bankrupt, lose my house, lose my family, lose my car, and live on the streets. Just because the government said so.

see but i believe in this because it ensures the rights of others. i hate smoking, and second hand smoke is just as bad as smoking the actual cig, without the tar, i think.

so put out your cig cuz it's my right to breathe normal.

Anarchy is foolish and impossible. Anarchy means that there is no government, the most simple government is the family, therefore, in anarchy, there can be no family. There can also be no business, since having a boss would constitute a form of government. Without government, you would have no roads, no schools, no one ensuring the quality of food. You say that with anarchy there would be peace, that is ridiculous. You are forgetting simple human nature. People would have no consequences from killing you, breaking you, taking your things or enslaving you. Of course, even if all government, families, schools and businesses were abolished, almost immediately there would be government in the form of gangs who would use the power of numbers to do anything they wanted, and their only opposition would be other gangs. Anarchy cannot work, under any circumstances. If you want a real measure of attainable freedom, you should look into the Libertarian party, there is a link in my signature.

exactly...

anarchy would be going back to our uncivilized nomatic state.

no, really doodler, you put together a great front page. My suggestion would be that there be a little interactive something on the page, such as being able to drag the news window, a little interactive game type thing (like the chickens on NG, or the Hopscotch girl on Ed McMchillen's (I probably butchered his name)site in order to grab some attention).

Anyway, I love it. It's fine the way it is, I'm just throwing in some suggestions.

But what about content? Have you been working on new movies? I sure hope so.

Hmm, content seems to be my sites problem also.

You got suspended for writing "Satan" on your binder? That's fucked up. I hope (but seriously doubt) that they also suspend people who write "Jesus" on their binder as well. Since you live in the United States you have freedom of religion as well as separation of church and state, that means that you can believe anything you want to believe, and that the government (in this case school) can't punish you (such as suspending you) for writing any such thing on your binder. I am not saying that you are a satanist, and I don't care whether you are or not, but I do know that you rights were violated, and I wouldn't stand for it if I was you.
