Please enlighten me. What is the difference between techno and rave music?

Response to: Rap = Stooopud Posted September 30th, 2001 in General

Rap ain't exactly my cuppa tea, but I'd rather listen to some indie Oakland stuff like the Grouch instead of some of that hippie raver music. Good god, the beeping my old black and white Macintosh Classic makes is better than that stuff...

It's not the fact that I dislike rap or techno, I just prefer other music (old skool punk).

Search the portal for Breakdancing Hobo. It's one of the two flash pieces I have uploaded to the portal. I did it a while ago... Watch it if you'd like, but don't expect anything grand.

Actually I cover the title in the history section on my site. It's nothing very deep. I do think the title did begin to somewhat affect the focus of the story once I decided to make it an animated series. That, and seeing Serial Experiments Lain

Well, the toaster so far has created Miracle Explosions... or so I think it's the toaster. I dunno, there was that one explosion that saved Hugo and Millenie...

In a few episodes, Hugo will probably have an entirely new costume as he evolves from a wannabe into an actual protector.

Very interesting! Good choice. Ack, I better stop asking questions so I don't ruin the story for myself (but the suspence is killing me)...

Tom, defender of freedom of speech. But freedom of speech is no good without freedom of thought. That is something only you, yourself, can arrive at.

Choose wisely my friends. The path has been cut, the fork in the road has presented itself... which one will you take.

Thanks Tom, it's very inspiring to know that you have the courage, balls, etc. to stand up to shit like this. Not too many people stand up for what they believe in, and instead just conform to the majority. At times it is easier, but not always the wisest path.

Every week a new fun packed comic will posted to the BBS, featuring both the Newgrounds and sometimes cameos like BBS/chat regulars and flash artists. Here are some early drawings of Tom and Wade, what do you think?

Your noses could use a little work, as well as the eyes (unless that's the style you're going for). Um, Wades nose looks a little too angled downward, and not too much like the actual nose on his face. Otherwise, they look decent. I dunno if I'd really be able to pick them out, because they don't really resemble the NG Crew too much. With a little tweeking tho, you could make them look really good.

I think it's a good idea, and I hope to see the final product. Go Recoil!

{sigh}

Well, just to give you an idea of the visual differences to be expected from #04. The pic I posted above is the new version of the wharehouse below from #03 where the Machine of Death was located.

Icarus, have you read the bios and stuff on my site?

Have I read the bios? Have I ever!

Hah. No really Chinny, I know you are very modest about your series, and I just want you to get recognized. Maybe that'll even motivate you to work harder on #04. Who knows?

Jeebus, the differences are definitely to be noticed. That screenshot of Nameless with the shining sword that you've posted wets my appetite as well. I just hope this crap of a cardboard box can withstand the almighty force of #04 (I hate having to run everything in Low quality mode, but low frames per second looks too crappy).

Ack, the series got me thinking tonight, because I just recently watched it again. I think I know the reason for the series' title, and I'm kinda left speculating about some other stuff. But that's the element I like. Suspence.

Enough babbling.

Summary: Me likes Chinny creation.

p.s. You also asked if the main character's hat fits the rest of his attire and his character. I think it's too early for us people in the shadows of the story-line to decide stuff like that. Attire tells a lot about a character. I'm interested if you leave the hat in or choose something else, because what you do with it will directly affect the way the viewer perceives the character.

p.p.s. this post is long, eh?

Well, you guys have missed a series. The Miracle Explosion series, which I consider one of the best in the portal. They are buy Fourchinigan. #1 is located here:

I would really like to see this series up in the Series section. And if Chinny won't speak up for himself, by George, I'll do it for him!

Everyone that isn't Tom or Wade, go to the link, watch the movie and then procede to vote 5's on a daily basis for this series. To say the least, it's good!
