Well, let me rephrase that. They are not punk bands or not good punk bands.

Let me define what "punk" means to me. The original "punk" movement was an anti-mainstream, free-thinking movement in the 70's. That is the original definition. Now people use it for image, rather than the values based behind it. People go for the rebel-look (like Sum 41 who preach about anti-conformity, yet put their videos on MTV, the conformity factory).

The Ataris definitely aren't punk. They are emo bullshit. They whine and complain about how they can't get/keep a girlfriend. "Boohoo, feel sorry for me." Here's a hanky, cry by yourself.

Less than Jake is ska, and Me First is a joke band. I dunno. I guess you could call them new-wave (new-wave and punk are two different things with similar sounds. I don't classify the Ramones as punk, but rather new-wave. New-wave is a more pop-jumpy sound).

NOFX has gone soft. I guess they aren't punk, but they sure aren't a good example of it. Their music is a good example of new-wave, and their lyrics are good, but they just are not really a good punk band anymore.

Punk doesn't have an official definition or guideline, so we could debate 'til the cows come home.

Just give me some real, old skool punk and i'll be happy. Recent music just really blows.

Toma: There isn't a single punk band on there. That's all new-wave pussy nerd rock (except for NOFX's old stuff. that stuff's good).

SalsaShark: Hmmm, everyone seems to take punk journies. Old skool bands travel from mouth to mouth kinda, and you hear about few, and find others from band associations, etc. My journey was great. I found a lot of bands. I'm assuming you like old punk, not today's Sum 41 wanna-be "punk" stuff, so I'll rattle off some bands, and you can try them out.

Black Flag
The Germs
Bad Brains
Adolescents
The Stooges (who are also called Iggy and the Stooges)
Iggy Pop
Dead Boys
Dead Kennedys
Circle Jerks
Crucifucks (best band name ever)
D.O.A.
Subhumans
The Casualties
The Cramps
The Exploited
TSOL

I have to disagree. Pomagranate has some good jokes in his portal submissions, although it isn't the best art. Besides, when is the Clock Crew rejecting people?

Oh well, I'm over the Clocks already. This is another fad just like Wazzup. NG goes thru these like I go through underwear in a week (which is a lot seeing as I don't use toilet paper).

A guy at work let me try his out and it was easier to use than I expected.

The more I read and such, the more I am leaning towards Wacom.

I have also heard of Wacom's (expensive ones at that) that have LCD screens so you know what's what. But the normal ones are very easy to use. In fact, it's easier than __________ (<---insert your name there)'s mom!

Seriously tho, I'm not sure who said it took getting used to. Because I was used to it by my first hour...

Oh, the flash. I'm a bit out of it currently. I love Razzo. I still think Blanco y Negro was better tho. this was cinematic, but it was just a lot of tweens. If he'd do a lot of frame by frame, it'd be way better.

Bump.

Just to tell you, Wacom's don't need batteries and come with a thing so you can put the paper under this thin layer of plastic on the surface of the pad, and trace over it that way. Wacom also comes with a mouse, which takes getting used to so I dont' use it (but you can just use your old mouse) and the pen has an eraser on the end (which i'm not sure if an Aipek does) and also has the buttons on the pen itself, so you don't need a mouse. You can use your pen!

New/Old BBS Layout Posted October 4th, 2001 in General

This BBS may look "new" to a few of you. If I'm not mistaken, this is what the old BBS looked like back when Ross switched it to using GG names instead of any name you wanted. I like it a lot better, and especially the grey text that's quoted, so we can just skip over it.

I got a Wacom and it's perfect. I'd go with the Wacom. Wacom's are pressure sensitive also, so you can get some really nice lines. Your choice tho.

I got a Wacom Graphire II, and I love it. Mine didn't take that long to get used too. It's just a little funny having to look at the screen and draw at something you aren't looking at, but I just sat down and in about 30 minutes I was doodling away...
