The-Mal: Yeah man, definitely. If there's enough interest after the cartoon is out, I'll throw some stuff together. I bet people will help improve the process once I show it all to everyone!

AwesomeSaurus: Thanks! I hope the animation lives up to the stills I'm showing.

1337man: Haha! You didn't like Ripping Friends? While I don't think it's the best Spumco product out there, I gotta say I liked it more than other cartoons that were out at the time. All that my cartoon has in common with the Ripping Friends is a really ripped protagonist (I hope).

More character colors coming soon, and hopefully some shots of the characters composited into the BG's.

Yeah, a character colored.

I separate my stuff into layers in photoshop so it's easy to place the characters in.

Here's a shot of the cockpit. Teehee. Cockpit.

Another BG. Colored in Photoshop. I really love old classic toons (the textures and stuff), so I've tried to add texture, and color to the lines.

Colored layouts.

Triphophiptop: Thanks! I always liked Ren and Stimpy. There were some great artists working on that show.

EkkieBurt: Haha, I wish Spumco was still around making stuff so I could get hired!

idiot-monarch: Yeah, I have reservations about how this style of film is going to go over. These days it's all about snappy dialogue and quick cuts. I'm not sure if classic animation has gone the way of the dodo because nobody is interested in it, or if nobody just really has the patience. Glad to know there's people out there that feel like I do.

Response to: Stone Hudson American Extraordinair Posted August 14th, 2007 in Art

And then a sample of a color. Done in photoshop. My first crack at textures so I don't think it's the hottest thing on the block, but it'll get the film done.

Here are some rough layouts. I pencil them out roughly first and then tie them down.

I draw all my layouts according to my storyboards and clean them up before animation starts. Then I color them usually after animation is done according to the color script (which I'll post later).

Chibi-Chief: I'm hurrying! I'm hurrying! Haha, I can't wait to finish it. I'm glad you dig.

Dilarus: Cool Dilarus! That's a compliment in my book. I was actually looking at some Chuck Jones designs of some cowboy brutes and Kirk Douglas, but I'm sure the creator of Ren and Stimpy was too.

BlackmarketKraig: Thanks man! Should be out soon and I hope I don't disappoint.

Thanks for the feedback folks, I really appreciate it.

I've always been a fan, Mindchamber. This is lookin fuckin sweet. You seem to have a knack for painting metal which has always been real tough for me. I can't wait to see the finished piece. GO GO GO GO GO GO!!1

Hey Tappo, your sketches are really nice. Especially these comic pages. The values are clear and the pages read nice and smooth. When are we gonna see more?

hey guys!

i haven't forgotten about this project and I've finally got a bunch of time to start working on it. i'll keep you guys updated with my progress, for those who are interested. if there is enough interest when the film is done and you guys want to know some of my techniques for how i'm putting the film together, maybe i'll make a more explanatory video.

anyway, the film is being drawn on paper and pencil (like how our grandfathers used to animate). here are some of my semi-tied down roughs.

Thank you both infinitely for your help. I tried putting it in a movie clip and it worked sure as rain. I've never really used those, just graphics. Anyhoo, you guys are the best and I can't wait to show you my film!

Response to: Ted Densley: Working Class Stiff Posted June 13th, 2007 in Art

Hey Zekey! I would post an animation sample, but the short is only like 40 seconds long. I don't want to spoil!

If I can figure out some Actionscripting, I can have it posted in the next couple of days!

If anybody wants to help, check this thread out:

CLIMBING THE CORPORATE LADDER!

Hey guys, a little movie I've been working on. I'm sure you'll all enjoy it. I just want to post a couple of screenshots. I should be releasing it pretty soon so I'll keep you posted.

Ted Densley: Working Class Stiff

Hey guys!

I'm using the NG preloader, but I have a graphic that I'd like to play for the first 50 frames once the film opens up. Right now, I think the NG preloader's action stop.root or whatever is stopping the whole thing. How do I not mess with the preloader but still play this small animation (it's curtains opening)?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your pal,
Chris

JackFox: Thanks! I love me some Tom and Jerry!

PandaMime: Thanks! It's gonna take a short bit because I'm animating it on paper. Then I've got a process to vectorize my paper lines into Flash, but yeah! The short will be cartoony and stupid like this!

JunkyCow: I hope my ideas match up! When I finish, you'll have to tell me what you think!

TheAmateurAnimator: I heard that major studios are really looking at the internet these days for new cartoons. There is a new show on Nickelodeon called "Making Fiends" that used to be a Flash cartoon on the net. Wouldn't that be sweet to get picked up off a cartoon you did on Newgrounds?

Bird-Man: Haha! Funny drawing! What's his name?

Master117chief: Thanks!

Delta-ForceZero19: I love Spumco cartoons. I guess it shows!

I reworked the colors and have more drawings and layouts and stuff that I'll share pretty soon. I also got another cartoon in the works that's closer to finish so I'll post some screenshots from that in the upcoming days. Stay tooned!

Response to: Stone Hudson American Extraordinair Posted April 1st, 2007 in Art

Bird-Man: Thanks! I'm always willing to help out on your film, but I'm really busy trying to start this internet cartoon studio. The best I can probably do is advice. I don't get to check the NG BBS much, but if you want to post artwork or animation for critique on the Katzenjammer BBS I'll be sure to see it (www.katzenjammerstudios.com/bbs). I can't wait to see your work!

King-Of-Gingivitis: Hey gerald! Glad you like the art. That's a funny bunny fetus drawing. You done any animations with that? I'd like to see some!

ArthurGhostly: Yup, you caught me. I love Ren and Stimpy, and all the stuff that inspired it's creators John K and Jim Smith. I love old Looney Tunes and rubber hose animation, etc. Thanks for the compliment, I really appreciate it!

MindChamber: YOU RULE! I love ROBOCOP and TRANSFORMERS. I've been an NG member for a while, and actually went to animation school to learn how to do stuff like yours. Thanks man, your comment means a lot. I can't wait to show you some animation and see what you think.

Hey squishmaster!

Go watch old cartoons! Those are always great! Big hammers and squashy characters and cartoony antics. Make a funny film. After you're 13, angsty films with a lot of blood really lose their appeal and you question what you've done with your hole life and fall into a hole of existential despair and start to read Heidegger.

Believe me, you don't want that.

At 4/11/05 01:32 AM, Jerconjake wrote: God is supposed to be perfect. A perfect thing could never have any affect on anything because that would negate its perfection. It would also mean that it could not be a conscious entity, because consciousness is defined by choice, which is imperfect. Also, omnipotence is a paradox, because it's impossible to be everything and also to be a single thing. Though, I know already that the argument against this is going to be "don't limit god."

How is choice imperfect? I think that's a self defeating statement. Without choice, we'd only have one choice that just is. This takes away all subjectivity, including good and bad. Without good and bad, what's perfect? Then you only have what is...

I dunno why I said little tangible evidence. I meant none.
