I will keep all your words in mind for my next piece.

I will be adding color to the image later.

wow, why color? it looks nice in grey.

some issues with the pic from my perspective.

the big dude looks like he is flying, or bending over while standing on something? What I mean is that the legs of the vegeta dude and the giant can hardly be level.

somehow I feel that vegeta is standing in the foreground (probably related to the previous issue)

vegeta has a very flat butt??

arms are nice and bulky, but in comparison his chest looks kinda flat.

the vains on the big dude are ok, but they dont POP out, which is probably what you want.

there seem to be different lightsources, thats oke I like it, but somehow the chin of vegeta seems off in respect to lighting. I dunno maybe someone can be more specific.

great pic!

Thank you for listening. And lol why did I get this username.

I never drew till a few months ago. Knew a tiny bit of photoshop and am pretty pleased with my own drawings. Theyre simple and nothing in comparison to some art posted here, but thats not really what I was going for anyway.

I viewed and executed some tutorials, just google for a subject. I also tried copying a lot of picture's in the start, not tracing, and adding a bit of your own, but really using the references, this helped me a lot.

I am definitely better then I was beginning of june, also have way more photoshop skills, its just comes with the practice.

I think you shouldnt let yourself be discouraged by the art you can see on the forum, people will always be better then you. I think its positive to be surrounded by people who are better, since they can atleast give good advice (and they will).

so yeah just try it out, you can see what I managed to create here, again I am pleased with all my own design and never drew anything nor did I know a lot about photoshop untill june this year.

Response to: Tomsan's designs thread Posted August 21st, 2012 in Art

new pic... These are the basic shapes and colors, obviously I need to work on the colors, these are just the basics.

I wanted a sunset, but this leaves me with some issues on the coloring. When I put the sun there, the colors of the object will be without much dept I assume. there are no real shadows on the objects 'cause everything you see will be in the shade.

I could probably make some stuff work on the waves and tree, but the van and boards, well theyll just be fully shaded. (when I look at references often all object are just made black)

So my question is, can I still create good depth with this light source? I am doubting if I should remove the sun all together and choose my own lightsource.

plz advice

I think the shades are hardly noticable. it needs stronger shades. Just try to shade it to the point you think its to much, it will still be to little (atleast thats always the case with me and since you hardly have a shade I am guessing you could use the same tactic)

Here comes another one:

these pics are funny, I keep staring at them and then suddenly things become clear, it can take a while.

In this case my mind kept telling me the pic was deep, in the sense it looked like a ' large' hole, I tried forcing myself to see it come towards me, but it didnt work, then I thought it was like a door knob, but the light thingy didnt fit. but the pic is very blurry so maybe its just some weird reflection

anway, the doorknob view didnt really go away so thats an official guess, but it also lead to my second guess which is a keyhole.

my first guess would be keyhole

now lets hope I am correct and this hole rant wont make me feel embarrassed

excellent I love it! The portrait of your cops(styles?) is super great because of the level of composition and color. I am sold^^

Some comments: for your black and white drawings and colored ones a different style is used ... You did well on combining both concerning the Dark kamehameha picture.

But be careful, I do not consider consider this as a fault/bad drawing (referencing back to the B&W pics) far from it ...Are you a pro?

I know you french love your language, but this is an english based forum. No sense in making french posts.

Well I dunno how pasting a bunch of dutch terms will help me understand what you mean. I am also not going to check dozens of terms to see if anything is close. I checked the first 3 and they were incorrect.

I have the same problem as you sometimes, but I rather recommend trying to explain what you mean. ;)

ha sorry, actually only the first words of the list was what needed to be pasted, with dutch translation next to it. those were the translation of the one word I was looking for and its side suggestion.

anyway. since we' re on the topic of word confusion. I may not understand your earlier tip completely so I am going for the turn tab thingy of a faucet. (you know for cold or hot water)

not really flask related i guess.

I think my explanation could cause more confusion than anything, so I rather clarify it. It's attached to some sort of bottle. Thus flask wasn't bad already.
