Please Digg Time Fkuc if you like it! Your help spreading the word of these featured games is greatly appreciated and helps us keep it going every week.

The featured game this week is Time Kcuf by Edmund McMillen and William Good. It was developed as part of the Power of Three festival, where artists, programmers and musicians team up to make games with themes of three! TF features the ability to toggle up to three layers per level and has 33 levels. Be sure to check out the CREATE and EXPLORE options, where you can create and share your own levels, or play levels created by others! You can also play a user-generated campaign of 33 levels, ordered by difficulty.

The Calendar Art contest thread was accidentally deleted (facepalm) so read resubmit your art to the new thread. Also post it in the Art Portal if you haven't, you can post hi-res versions there!

Saturday is Talk Like a Pirate Day so we're having a contest. Voice actors submitted skits and artists are now (hopefully) animating their favorites to submit on Saturday, which will culminate in the long-awaited Pirate collection.

Tuesday, September 22nd is Madness Day! I have been especially quiet lately because I'm working around the clock with MindChamber to get our new game done in time. I posted information about the unified Madness Day loading screen here.

Next up will be the Halloween competition, which includes any Halloween / horror-themed submissions that feature the Halloween preloader!

Check out the best Halloween submissions and Madness Day submissions from last year.

I'm gonna get back to work on this Madness game and next Thursday (the 24th) we're off to Denver for the NG Beerfest Meetup that weekend. I'll have my head back on straight once this gauntlet is over!

PS - PsychoGoldfish is awesome. So is Mike.

I think Cave of Wonders is 7 Diggs away from being featured on the "Gaming" page... Can anyone help make that final push?

As you can see from this graph, our Digg referrals go up a lot when one of our submissions is featured on the Gaming section. People didn't come through for Another Small Favor; look at how sad that part of the graph looks. :(

Didn't actually get an official test but it was assumed not to be swine flu since I don't have a fever, although I did read on-line afterwards that sometimes it doesn't include a fever... Whatever the case I'll get better.

Yeah I intend to Digg every game of the week. So far we've managed to get two of them to the front of the gaming section, which scores the game about 10,000 plays in a single day. We got front page of Digg once in 2007 and it resulted in 60,000 referrals in a single day... So that's still the ultimate goal. :)

Go Digg Cave of Wonders - we've managed to land the front page of the Gaming section twice in the past month!

Artists: Don't miss your chance to be part of the 2010 NEWGROUNDS CALENDAR!

If you want to participate in Pirate Day (September 19th), Coop83 has assembled a list of all the voice entries!

MoriChax brought some Castle Crashers plushies to the booth but I somehow missed her appearance; I think I was hanging out with Glaiel and Starogre, who were across the aisle demoing the console version of Closure. Original Flash version:

Starogre (Jon) posted news and pictures from PAX and Glaiel posted tidbits as well. All three of us ended up with the flu, apparently there was a swine flu outbreak in Seattle so I might get checked out today.

Here are the Best of August! Each of these winners gets $30 store credit and an award certificate. The top submission in each category will also be in the running MOVIE and GAME of the year!

Everyone: Please digg Dadgame if you would like to see us finally hit the Digg front page with a jacked up tank logo icon.

Animators: Check out the voice acting entries for the Talk Like a Pirate Day contest! Find one you like (hopefully there is at least ONE), whip up a cartoon and submit it on September 19th, Talk Like a Pirate Day. Read the original announcement for CASH prize info!

Voice Actors: Tomorrow is your last chance to talk like a pirate, but there is an ongoing voice acting competition.

New in the store today: Anachronic, by Mihai Sorohan

You may know him better as sorohanro in the Audio Portal. Check out his songs and buy the CD to support him!

Time to vote for the Best of August. If you are part of the voting pool, you will see a big link on your account options page, under the header, "Monthly Voting Time!"

If you are a contributing member of the site, don't forget to activate revenue sharing on your account options page. You can get a cut of the ad revenue generated by your page, games, music, audio and art. If you make Flash specifically, be sure to try our Flash Ads system; it's been getting great results for games in particular.

We're in the final days of the Combat Arms front page campaign and I would like to thank everyone who tried the game, as well as Combat Arms for letting us attempt a re-skin! The results of this campaign made it possible to sponsor our ongoing weekly line-up of games. This has been a tough year for everyone but I think we all come out stronger for it.

September 22nd is Madness Day, go grab the loading screen wallpaper featuring Jebus! This works like last year, where you can use whatever preloader you want or the Flash Ads preloader, with this as the backdrop.

For an example of what your loading screen will feel like, here is a self-serving example from last year:

Madness Day prizes are subject to improve based on results, but the minimum prizes will be:

1st: $1,000
2nd: $750
3rd: $500
4th: $250
5th-10th: $100

Next up after Madness Day is our annual Halloween contest! Submit your Halloween Flash during the month of October and include the Halloween Preloader to be part of the competition.

New in the store: Kingbastard's CD for just $10!

Also new today: Scroll down past the featured movies, games and music to find featured art right here on the front page!

Don't miss the Talk Like a Pirate Contest. Voice actors have until September 3rd to submit skits and artists have until the 19th to prepare their animations! All submissions should be made ON the 19th, which is Talk Like a Pirate Day. Click that link for more info.

I hope everyone has been enjoying the weekly game releases! Check out the schedule to see what's coming in the next month. It's really appreciated when people make use of the DIGG and Facebook sharing links. Our goal is for every featured game to open with 100,000 plays on day one and ultimately one million plays in one week. We can't do it without your help!

If you haven't watched Tarboy, it will be a contender for movie of the year:

Marc M never disappoints either:

Some less celebrated stuff you may not have seen this week:

Oh yeah and this game...

Now SevenSeize can win an award and be famous!

Over in Behemothville we're having a Party Hat contest to celebrate the one year birthday of Castle Crashers!

The best party hat photo gets a Pink Knight figurine, go read about it.

Forum: NG News

liftgames brought it to my attention that September 19th is Talk Like a Pirate Day and suggested NG have an event around it.

So this is a bit spur of the moment, but I think we can pull something together.

I'm copying a bunch of rules from the current Voice Acting Competition, which voice actors should also participate in!

- Record an original skit that is written by yourself or a fellow NGer (credit them in your comments)
- Your recording needs to be a minimum of 10 and max of 60 seconds.
- Your skit must be submitted to the Newgrounds Audio Portal
- You must use your own voice, you may try to sound like another character from another story.
- You can use pre-made background sounds and music for atmosphere in your recording.
- You can use any microphone of your liking.
- You CAN NOT use copyrighted music.
- You CAN NOT use recordings of another persons voice.
- You CAN NOT submit past the deadline.

The deadline for voices is September 3rd. Please only enter if you are serious about voice acting!

After submitting to the Audio Portal, post a link to your file in this thread!

Flash Artists are then encouraged to browse the entry thread and animate their favorite. On September 19th (short notice I know but we all work well under pressure) everyone can post their entries and I might even make that oft-requested PIRATE COLLECTION!

The best Flash submissions will split prizes amongst the Voice Actor and Artist (if a writer is involved, he will split earnings with the voice actor).

1st Place: $150 CASH
2nd Place: $100 CASH
3rd Place: $50 CASH

If no one makes any half-decent Flash, cash prizes will go directly to the best audio submissions.
This is a great opportunity for some fresh new talent to show us their stuff!

Flash artists: Watch this thread for submission links.

Audio artists: If you aren't getting approved into the system, notify us here.
