Nice to see you keeping up your promise to showcase undiscovered gems, Tom.
I decided to start posting my own extensive collection too, after the last contest you ran. I've been slow about it though. I've only just put up my ninth page, in fact. It's a pain to copy flash titles into the links so that it's presentable though. This is the excuse I currently use for not having gone faster in converting the stuff anyway. Heh. I could leave it with the title and link separate but I prefer the look when I clean it up and add a few other touches. Along with double checking the links to make sure they are not dead anymore.
One example of a flash that was deleted since I last checked a year or three ago is "Yes & No". I was shocked at that. It was a hilarious stick amine on the do's and don'ts of driving. It was up for over six years. The reason why it was blammed and the author deleted is a mystery to me. To the best of my memory, it was the very first NG flash I had ever seen and it was really popular at the time too. Was around for years... Now it's gone. :(
Anyway, although the current look is fine, it would look even better if you add the graphical, hyper links that you do for the forums in the blog section. Any chance that could be done?
Just a thought. Anyway, if you would like to take a look at what I have posted so far, the link is in my signature. For all, except the first page, I have forty links per page, each with a description. So there is plenty to look through.
I just noticed the bonus Contest. Sorry if this is a tad late but you did say Monday and it IS still Monday. If I was too late tell me so I can keep it in mind for next time though. Once again my list taking comes to the foreground. I did a spot check and I don't think anyone submitted this so... Here goes.
My single entry (to be described in 4 long *cough* sentences) is,
I'll be the first to admit that it's not as good as many of the other Halloween submissions (the animation quality is somewhat poor and static, for starters) but I feel it qualifies as an overlooked gem because of it views (less then 500 as I write this) and the fact is NOT in the Halloween 2008 collection despite a decent score (3.21 as I write this) and also despite it being properly listed as a Halloween submission with a correct preloader (it WAS submitted rather early though).
Aside from that, it's kind of creepy (n a standard way) with eerie music and the environment change where things go all spooky until the ending that gives us a big old Halloween appropriate "BOO!". Seriously man, I bet you cannot find a single other entry with someone saying "boo" in it. :)
In short, while there are probably better animations and this one would never have won a prize in your list, it still got the shaft and it should have AT LEAST been in contention for a prize by being in the Halloween 2008 collection so it could have been viewed while considering who the winners were.
The odd thing? I actually have "Mug Hug" in my saved lists. I know why I didn't post it in the first year of the treasure hunt though (which is when I would have put it in for submission, if I was going to do so). Tom called for funny animations and I didn't think it had the humor required to be included. Gives me hope that someday I can win this. I'd really like to be able to do that. This is something I really put a lot of effort into, a contest where I honestly feel that I'm as good as or better then anyone else that participates. Maybe next year...
Thanks for including 3 of the games I submitted Tom. No collections though. Hmm, It seems I lost out to fart humor again. I dislike losing to this because it is one type of flash that I simply will not add. I truly dislike this style of humor. On the upside. I'm especially pleased with Gold Well getting some notice. That was a good game. Too bad about Dice Mogul though. I thought that was the best of my choices. Ah well.
I appreciate second prize you handed out. I think it should be a requirement for a winner (not nessicarily the runners-up though) have no awards on them as well. On the other hand, I don't think that we need to give artists money for their discovered flashes, especially since they have the opportunity to win so many other awards over the year but... as you like. It's a feel good gesture at least. I suppose.
I've started to add my monthly lists to my NG blog. I have my first 2 months up right now (plus my original list, which was before I decided to do this monthly) and I'll probably add a few more in a bit. The first year at least. I kept up my commentary for that long until I got tired of it and just started adding the flashes without working on which ones I liked the most from the lists.
You can look at it at: http://tomao2.newgrounds.com/news/ if you are interested.
Well now, MC-Booga. That can depend. There are many among us that spend a lot of time watching NG animations. I personally spend time trying to watch every animation with a 3.00+ score on it. This can take well over 5 hours a week. I daresay that 5 hours is a very conservative estimate to try and watch/play everything. I personally add everything I think is good into a big old list. I have done this for several years. Is my time spent here worth less because I have not submitted anything? Isn't the viewer a integral part of the mix. If NG didn't provide the eyes to give artists exposer, why would they bother submitting anything here? Now sure, I could just watch what's been front paged or in the top 5 but I take the time and watch many things. Frankly, it's more of a chore because finding the genuinely enjoyable stuff takes a lot of sifting through what I consider crap and it's alot of WORK.
So no, I have not made animations but I HAVE spent a good deal of time finding gems that I think are worth another look. That is a contribution that can only come to light in a contest like this. Were I able to win, I would feel quite deserving of this award. Now, I doubt that others have put that kind of time in (in fact, that is why I said I disagreed with awarding the winner. It was from an author that is new, has gotten 2 awards and submitted rather recently. As much as I despised the fake winner, and I really didn't like that animation, it would have been a better pick because it appears to have been quite obscure and difficult to find. Besides... I know that's how Tom likes his stuff. Which is why I don't expect to win these contests anymore, at least not for movies. Maybe for games...) but some might have. There are many that participate in Newgrounds that don't make flashes. Tom wants everyone to have some fun and be involved.
Did he have to offer money for this? No, but then again he didn't have to offer money every month to artists. Nor does he have to offer money for various themed contests, like Pico Day. We have people that win a hundred dollars just for voting once a month, should we be mad at them because they didn't make any flashes?
Besides, it's only once a year AND it gives more attention to all sorts of hidden flashes. If there was no money, many would not bother looking. It's a gimmick but a fun one. If an artist wants to win the contest he can look for flashes too. Just like anyone else. He can even submit his own. Nothing stopped the artist of the winner from submitting his own flashes but he apparently didn't think it was worth doing. Perhaps he will next time now that he knows that he can actually win money by doing so.
There are many contests that you win simply by signing a piece of paper. This one involves the entire community. It involves some effort and could even be fun to participate in. It's a worthwhile addition. I might disagree with the specific winner but I'd never begrudge there being A winner who is not the artist of the winning flash. The finder gets the money, the listed artists gets more attention. Nothing wrong with that. No one comes here to make money anyway. At least I'd hope not. So no more complaining and lest just all enjoy the contest. :)
Sorry for the double post. I just tested posting some stuff on my blog. It doesn't do the high res, fancy hyperlink. Could you fix it so it does please? I think they look really great. Otherwise, it looks like this is actually a good idea it seems to fit well enough and I can actually edit and there is more then enough room to fit everything (hopefully even with those character heavy super hyperlinks instead of just these regular ones) in a single post It's a bit narrow but otherwise okay. I'm shocked that in the few minutes I done testing this I already have a comment. Weird.

I think someone else actually plugged Vlad before you did. That one almost made my list but for some reason I didn't... I gotta watch it again now. But when I saw it on your list I know I was like "Oh I already watched that one."
I'm not planning at the moment to have prizes for SERIES and ARTIST...
The games category was a continued eye-opener...
I would like to see the general NG forums take more interest in lifting up the smaller submissions
Someone plugged Vlad before me? Curses. Well when you get over a thousand submissions I suppose there is always the risk that one that I picked could be chosen first. Not that I have high expectations of winning in the movies anyway (anymore) but DO I enjoy trying to post all this stuff I collect and hopefully raise the profile of the artists that did them a bit.
You don't have to ask me to imagine how many games are lost in a year Tom. Every month that I listed had at least 1 game in them. I think in the start I didn't really collect them but I do now. I'm pretty sure I got a good 10%+ in games consistently now. I prefer movies over games but there is great stuff hidden that I found very enjoyable time wasters for awhile.
I also know about losing animations. I recall one that was about a bunch if beings who's purpose in life was to set themselves in fire to be a birthday message for someone. Another was a being trapped in a box and had to use his heart to get out. A third was a monologue of a bounty hunter. All left deep impressions on me when I was just starting out on NG and I never forgot them but I can't find them anymore. Another one was a sprite movie that seemed to use custom sprites only. It was singing some Asian song. "Si-mo-rie. La mooooooorrruummm" was the refrain (as near as I can recall/pronounce it). That one was just around when I started my list. The song always stayed in my head along with another animation that I saved. I was positive I had saved it but I can't find it for the life of me. That makes me sad cause it was a great song and great animation. I can't believe I didn't save it/notice it was gone until now. It was going to be an example of me saving stuff.
One thing I WAS able to retrieve was "Die in Style", the best stick death game ever created (the type where you pick the death and he dies). Totally random, it just turned up on the flash of the day list. IT was deleted but with the title I was able to google it and found it on another website. Such a great game.
I didn't realize the latter 2 categories were non-prizes but were mainly for discussion. That's a great potential idea, actually. I hope that generates discussion. You know. I never looked at the blogging feature before. Perhaps I'll put up my lists there. They are kind of musty in my email drawer.
Oh, I also have another idea. Why not have a collection of the monthly winners? That's what got me to start on collecting every month. I save the 5 winners. I save the link to the page of the 5 winners so that I can also have access to all the runners up and then make my own list of about 30 entries that I enjoyed. You should make all these pages into a collection because that is a great way for a new reader to look back and see what was considered the best of any given month.
Game: Here is another hidden gem of a game. It was on the first list I ever made. It's weird and spooky. Easy to play though. Despite the bad controls and no sound effects. It could have been better but I liked it's creepy atmosphere and spooky visuals enough to give it a pass. The music doesn't have a loop though. A shame because when it stops the game is less interesting.
Well, I'm surprised "Nuts to You" got picked from my collection. It's good but every time I watch it I just can't help but wonder why he doesn't climb the tree. "Disassembler" was... less of a suprise. However, I was more expecting you to put it in the politics collection rather, rather then giving it a runner up. If you really like that one, I recommend again that you watch the rest of his stuff Tom. It's all obscure and all funny in the politics area. I had a bunch of his stuff but I felt would be pushing that one guy too much so I just picked my favorite of the lot. You know, actually, NONE of my submissions were moved to collections. That's a first. Honestly, the movie I thought was my best chance was "Vlad the Impaler". I thought it hit all the right notes and was really funny too. Didn't place though. Shows what I know.
I know this is sour grapes but I don't see why the standereds should be lowered just because people didn't bother to make sure that their movies fully fit within the perimeters. It grates on me because finding NG gems is really akin to a hobby of mine. I spend a lot of hours looking though it every week and have for years and while I am positive many others do this as well, I seem to be the only one that consciously saves everything I like.
You originally said you were looking for totally undiscovered movies. Only the best of the best. In my mind, that really excludes things that won awards. Of any sort. Only a small number win awards. They got their moment in the sun. Your winner is an artist that just started less then 3 months ago. He's released 2 movies that both got daily places as well, with fantastic scores to boot. Is that really an appropriate winner for this category?
It's nice to have a music video category, I'm glad to see "Across the Universe" (I'd thought it had been on the front page though). I've always loved that one but shouldn't a winner be picked from songs that are not copyrighted or, at least, use obscure bands? Were there any that were able to use a NG music portal song? Other then the one I submitted anyway, which wasn't the greatest. I admit.
You said that you didn't want ones that got front page but changed your mind and have a full category for it along with lesser known works of famous artists? That's a much easier category because people mine what they know. This seems like pandering for people that didn't care to put in the work? You said you wanted the best of the best. This is not it. Should the people be rewarded for not following what you wanted them to do?
I expected you to split for the uncovered games. My fingers are still crossed for winning that. I found a bunch of great games and I really hope that my idea of what is a good game is closer to yours then what I feel a good movie is. "Super Happy Fun Time" is the one I personally think you'd like the best. I'll find out though.
'Undiscovered series' is a surprise though. That was something I checked for actually, every time it was a series, I made sure that it was not just an unpopular episode in a series that got more popular as time went on. I think I could have made it more clear of the episodes that were actually a part of various series though if I had realized that it would get it's own category. If you can make an entire list of that though, I'd guess that my standards were way to stringent because I tended to delete anything that won awards later on and such.
So it's nice to see 2 of my submissions be listed. Thank you for that. I think ALL of my picks are people that deserve more attention but I wonder if the net hasn't been cast too wide to really get the notice that winners would deserve because they are not front paged. Wouldn't it be better if focused on a smaller number of ones that you truly felt were obscure gems and front paged them for maximum attention, as you did the previous 2 years? The purpose, after all, is trying to bring more attention to the undiscovered artist of unknown flashes, right?

Perhaps I should have explained that better. I had no idea I had insulted her friend it was mainly a result of me not walking away from catcalling and crude innuendo on the part of some of the girls other friends that they insisted on including her on. I understand why the violent girl thought so though and I further realized that I (and, frankly, everyone else) could have handled that previous situation better.
When I first met her though, I didn't know why she wanted me to remove my glasses. She just came up and, polite as you please, asked me to take them off and the moment they WERE off she started hitting me continuously on the head for 5 to 10 swings or so. I had no idea it was coming and the first hit knocked me for a loop. I was sucker punched and it's not easy for ANYONE to win if another gets a first good blow that you were not expecting. Especially if it stops just as quick.
It wasn't overly painful though (mostly disorientating) and I didn't really care to fight. So I simply apologized for my perceived slight of her friend and she stopped. It was over pretty fast. I consider the whole thing an important learning experience in how the whole thing had led up to that point. It was completely unnecessary for it to have taken place at all and it never did again.
Crud, I messed one of the links up. Probably happened after I found out I had to divide everything up into 3 posts. Okay, since I can't edit, I'll redo the mistake with the correct link. If a moderator can fix things. Please replace my bad link with the one below and erase this post. Thanks.
Humor: Narrator tells story about Vlad and his decision to keep in practice and try empaling the man in the business suit. Rather bloody but amusing.
Concluding with...
MARCH 07
Humor: Short funny. Batman and the Riddler. Is that villain even trying anymore?
Humor: everyone knows link is a badass but is he a big enough badass to hit someone so hard that they are knocked out of their clothes WHILE, at the same time, Link can steal them and dress himself in them simultaneously? This flash gets to the bottom of that burning question. Part of a series of link movies that I find rather enjoyable.
Humor: From the same guy that did National Jeopardy, New GOP Mascot Auditions and Recountdown (he's done some good political cartoons that are also worth looks in a short time frame). It's an actual speech Bush said but the author added his own "voice in the earpiece" that directs Bush into what he is saying. The result is hilarious.
Music: The author wrote his own song and then made an animation around it. It's pretty basic. Just some circles, lines and squares but it engages the eye while listening to that funky beat.
Game: Platformer game, Hillery Clinton has gone mad and will eat you if you don't RUN FOR YOUR DAMN LIFE! The constant screaming is a bit annoying but a well executed game overall.
APRIL 07
Game: Old fashioned dogfights prevail as you travel on your way though the levels. Every enemy plane that you shoot gives a random power up. A bit repetitious but fun.
Action: Nicely animated fight that introduces a new superhero team. Was supposed tobecome a series but... Watch them get their asses kicked all over the place. lol
Humor: Warning, this flash is a pun joke (and a Clock Crew animation) but I laughed so here it is.

Humor: Narrator tells story about Vlad and his decision to keep in practice and try empaling the man in the business suit. Rather bloody but amusing.
Action: Just some tests getting the combination of live action with animation. Such as swinging a car around or being attacked by monsters. Pretty well done.
Okay, that is 6 months of me searching for appropriate animations from my saved list. I REALLY wanted to do a full year but too much good stuff and I was told not to overdo it. I got almost 30 as it is. I worked hard on this list though. Every animation was a process of consideration for me. Unlike most here. I did not just start when the contest was announced but have been looking though this stuff every week all year long.
So please treat is as such.
Thank you.
I am rather annoyed. How many characters does this new hyperlink take up? I had exactly enough for one post but it said I exceeded so I split it in half and it was STILL too much. So now I have to break it into 3 parts. Very sorry about that. Continuing...
JANUARY 07
Game: Extremely professionally done. It was even vetted by NG staff due to theft concerns. It's kind of a fast paced version of Monopoly but with some little power ups you can collect. An extremely fun time waster and a sadly neglected one.
Humor: Based on the artist's own webcomic, we come across a philosophical discussion of money and it's existential properties. It ends with small twist.
Humor: A very well animated flash about a squirrel going gangbusters in order to get himself an acorn. Will he succeed? (try not to ask why he doesn't just clime the tree and pluck grab it from there)
Humor: good 60 second, flash parody of those "Rhapsody in blue" commercials. If you fly a lot you should appreciate how frikken often you have flight delays and whatnot.
FEBRUARY 07
Game: It's Space Invaders but now you can move up and down as well as being able to move from side to side. It's an interesting variation on the game.
Action: Cupid had gone on a rampage and only the Holiday Rangers can stop him. It's a decently animated fight between them and Cupid. Will Valentines' Day be saved?
Action: A claymation fight between Knox and his girlfriend Meagan. Woot! I thought it was pretty funny too.
Humor: Quick funny, I had a good chuckle over it. Oh noes Mr. Old Man, look out for that banana peel you're oh so slowly walking towards. ! You're gonna die if you are not careful!
Game: traditional Chinese board game. Reminds me of X&O. Only you need to get 5 in a row and the board is much bigger. Got some additional features like an undo button and you get 3 hints a game. Nicely done.
Hi, I am back and I still still am perusing my collections. What I usually do is go over everything that has a 3.00+ rating. Usually by going through the "Best of the Week" listing. Sometimes, things happen and I don't read them all but generally I do. Or at least glance at the description.
I like this new rich, content linking, feature thing. That means I won't have to put in the title in. Cool. I have so many of these things. Going though them all will be difficult. I will stick to ones that don't have an award, focus on famous copyrighted material, have famous artists or are above 20k views.
So last year I ended at... October 2006. So I shall continue from November 2006. Although I could start from the beginning since I can look for more then just funny now. I will list the link, genera and give a brief overview as to what it's about. If the description is interesting don't bother checking the link. It'll save time.
NOVEMBER 06
Surrealist: Very short flash. Man that finds a box within a box. He experiments, not understanding that the box he is in is also the same box he is looking at. If he is not careful, he might end up killing himself.
Action: It says it's a teaser but what it ACTUALLY is a very cool animated fight. Not a sprite or stick animation either. He put a fir bit of work into it. In it, one man goes into a house full of gunmen in order to find and kill the boss. Will he succeed?
Humor: Crudely animated short. Picachu comes across MissingNo, the glitch pokemon. Things get bloody.
Game: It's a story with above par voice acting and animation. You're an investigator on a case. Starts as a conversation game where you pick the right things to say, has some click exploring and ends with a reaction test. It's a good story that ends at the halfway mark. . Wish there was a chapter 2.
Game: This is a fantastic game. You send a contraption underground and try to eat all the gold without letting the monsters destroy your machine. It's like a vacuum, so they just have to get the extended pipe to destroy it. Lots of fun. Also see the sequel Diamond Well, which is an unknown gem as well.
DECEMBER 07
Humor: Wouldn't you like it if it was summer all year round? This animation's resident talking panda gives a tongue in cheek telling about "greatness" of global warming.
Drama: A decent looking animation, told in an old film style with no dialogue. Starts with the German officer captured , handcuffs, then it goes back to the past with the German recalling someone he killed. It ends coming back to the present for the Nazi's own execution.
Game: You got a sword and you swing it around your body (that you move around) to kill the things that attack you. The longer you take the less room you get to maneuver. I found it fun.
Humor: Everyone does DBZ fight ripoffs. One guy decided to lay it all out how a proper DBZ fight works. The animation is poor but I found his observations really funny. Especially the last one.
Game: Author said it's more like an interactive Christmas card then an animation. I like it. Hit the bullsye to dunk Santa. There is, of course, a trick to doing this.
I wear glasses. Had a girl that was kind enough to ask me to take them off before proceeding to wail on me for a few minutes. I'd insulted a friend of her's earlier and she wanted payback
F*CK IT GODALL. I got all the way to the end of issue 17 and now I have to go back and find my kicks from them again.

26. Animatic Breakup// http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/34 4330 A hitman and hitwoman go over a few "issues" from their relationship. Voice acting could be better but a nice and stylized animation with a good sense of the ridiculous.
27. The Headless Jerk http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/34 7298 How this failed to get in the 2006 Halloween collection I'll never know. A great funny that was sadly overlooked.
Okay that's enough. Though I have more as I have been collecting animations every month still so I could go all the way to Sept 2007 if I wanted. I've looked through 9 of my monthly animation collections and I came up with even more animations then I submitted last year. I think I may be overdoing it as it so may as well quit. I also I think I avoided the big name artists and ones that stole audio clips from elsewhere that was a complaint for last year. I still think I had a great selection but none got in last year so I doubt any would make it this time around (though I recall the Bob Ross one seemed to be your favorite of the series Tom).
Anyway, this is a list I have worked hard on so I hope you'll give serious consideration though somehow I doubt I'll win. I just don't think I look for the same things you do...
PS. If I do win, as I'm Canadian can the 200$ be in Canadian money. Pretty please? Heh.
This is getting excessive. Not only is terrible stuff passing (which is to be expected) but 2 specific movies are being submitted dozens of times. The names and authors are all very different but you can tell they are the same movies because they use the same icon (except the ones that don't add an icon in) and have the same file sze (400.9 KB and 359.8 KB).
I have decided to whistle one. If it's taken off, then I will whistle as many as I can when I get back from work. Free whistle points would be fantastic. I doubt it will be though *sighs* so I'll just try it once so I don't suffer my bronze rating.
Hey, well the redesign is interesting. I think I'll have take a few days getting used to it.
Like 2 or 3 other posters though, I'm really having troubles with the "watch movies" link. It doesn't do anything when I click it and I have tried a number of flashes by this point too. I have to hit the "pop up" button and watch everything the old fashioned way. I've seen Tom reply to several posts but nothing on this problem, so could someone please explain what's up with that?
My third, official, level up post:
I, Toma O'Two Tattel, became a level 13 Newgrounder on today's date of November 15th, 2006 with 5,120 experence points. This is 6 months and 18 (?) days after I became a level 12 Newgrounder on April 27nd, 2006 with 3,650 experence.
I am ranked # 1,610 out of 1,053,973 users. When I did my level 11 update I was ranked #2,363 out of 976,660 users.
There are also a total of 89,641 flashes in NG at this date. When I last leveled there were only 78,172 flashes.

On to the bat! Goobye forever horrid boxing gloves. ^_^
I really haven't been putting th eeffort into deposeting that I used to. Definatly 6 -7 months is longer then it should have taken to level. I think I'll do better going through this next level though. I had kind of a patch where I was sick of going through everything. I think it's gone but who knows?
It's interesting looking back at how things grow in such a relatively short time.
I think that's all the important things from my latest level up.

You had a good list of picks, I'm sorry that none of them made it to the front page. They were all good picks. I think I was just in a different sort of mood with my selections. :)
<sighs> Okay, I think I had a good list too but that's the way it bounces, I guess. I appreciate your reply. Thanks.
What was the cut off point for the flash movies in the treasure hunt?
I mean... those entries were... actually I put a lot of effort into it. I did a big thing on scouring NG for a year, looking at every movie rated 3.00 and over and I made a list of 30 from that every month. I even made a discription of each one. When I excluded anything that got a daily place or that I thought had been on front page. I noticed quite a few people didn't put attention into that.
The Star Wars one.... (darth=in) I noticed that it was put into a collection and the movie had been moved to the rightful owner. Seems to me that my posting it finally gave it the attention it needed to have the mods fix that problem. It was a good flash. Were all my choices really less amusing then what ended up being put up even "LL- Edd-Black" http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/26 3922 The whole thing of a starbucks being across from a star buc was something I really find helarious.
Is my sense of humor so totally different that none of my 16 ideas were found to be good enough? I've looked at a few of the winners and don't really like any of them. I really thought that my work would have done a bit better. How depressing. :(
If there is a list of finalists, what is it? Also, if you have a list of finalists then you must have had a cut-off at somepoint. When was it? Were my suggestions in time to be looked at? I only got around to it on the 29th ago, so maybe not.
It would ahve been nice if, when you'd read enough, you had made a post saying that you were done and no further entries would be considered at this time.
Ooo, tension while we wait for the winners. O.O
If Wade really wants to get voters to go through everything, instead of just putting out a call he should find a way to disable the waiting period inbetween when you click on a movie and can vote on it. I got highspeed and it takes way too long to wait. Especially now that it's easy to pass movies that are 10k inn size. I did 5 or flashes so but that's all I feel like waiting around for. in times like these the normal judgment for voting doesn't really apply anyway. No one is really looking to judge these things which are mostly terrible. They will blam it or go with the mass voting and try and get free protection points.
I already said they are different accounts. Mr. ASDF ASDF keeps having a different number at the end of" MoleMovies" that go in asending order. It flips to the next number up after the previous uses their allotment. But why are they gray and unclickable? If these are accounts that are currently usable we should be able to get a profile.
Of course, why bother deleting the account in the first place? If your making a new account why bother? I don't get that. The only reason I could think if is the accounts are deleted. Are their other reasons why it could be the case that the name is gray and unclickable with no profile box? Um, if you leave everything blank when making the profile maybe?
As for the movies being spam... The movies themselves don't seem to be spam, per say. Definitely not fine viewing but not spam. Just the way he or they are going about it is spammy.
That's a good point. I have no idea how he's deleting his account but he is. The name is gray so you can't click on it. That means a deleted account.
On Author asdf asdf (TheMoleMovies0) . He; submitted 15 movies which are all taking up space on the judgment area. He keeps deleting his account and then making a new one (changing the number after molemovies. So he goes MoleMovies1, Molemovies2, etc) so he can get past the 2 submissions per day limit. Does that count as spam? Should I whistle using the 'malicious' option? Or would he get them passed anyway and I would be docked points?
It seems like he should be whistled to me. Especially seeing how badly the portal is clogged with submissions right now but I don't want to do it if I'll just be told I should have by the people that look over this stuff.
I spent a year collecting animations from this site so I went through them and picked the ones I think might be funny enough to win.
Okay, here are my attempts:
- Fri Short #1 Wheel Chair
Just a short little funny of a guy that's on a wheel chair that's about to crash. that's good for a chuckle.
- Bob Ross Has a mental
remember watching those little shows where the artist paints on a canvas and makes silly comments ("and now I'll add a happy little bush" and such) so I got a kick out of this one.
- Creativity
It's the amusing story of a slacker and his computer project. Still pictures of the actual creator (this isn't an animation) are used in a stylish manner with a little more then few brushstroke movements and of course, audio narration to keep your attention.
- Joe's Flash Tutorial
You have probably seen a number of cartoons by this point. Ever wonder how it's done? There is a specific program you can get and after you do you have to do some things to make it happen. Here is a fun an interesting little tutorial that was made as a school project. Usually these sorts of things are boring as I don't even have the program that you need to do it but this was pretty witty so I enjoyed it alot even if I can't put the lesson to practical use.
- NSFW's "Cartoon Strip"
This is from the guy that did Ultimate Orgy and other stuff that has made it to front page yet somehow this one appears to have been missed. Definatly time to give it another look. It's an animated strip tease with the emphasis on 'tease'. The black and white animation is simple and cute looking (love the facial expressions the toon man gives) with a great little instrumental song to go with it.
- Inflatable Dad
Short animation for father's day. It's an ad for the new and improved Inflatable Dad. See the many, not so wonderful, things it can do. A nice way to remind us that nothing beats a caring parent. <smiles>
-The Sith Rejects
This is really cute Star Wars concept. The animator has the interesting idea that Darth = "in" (Darth Vader= IN-Vader). Just try and think off all the funny Sith names you can make using this idea. Heh! I have no idea why it hasn't made a star wars collection by now. It's worthy.
- random stuff 1
No story on this one. Many random scenes string together showing mostly bad things happen to stick men <grins>. "Why should I hire you?" "Because if you don't, I'll shoot you". Loved that!
- C.S.P. The Mexican Dance
Okay, it's poorly animated, short, and kind of dumb but I laughed so what the heck tom might too. Little guy does the Mexican Hat Dance when something unexpected happens. Suffice it to say, things end badly for him.
- LL- Edd-Black
This animation had me grinning and laughing throughout. It's an audio recording of a stand up comic doing a GREAT bit on why he thinks there are too many Starbuck Coffee Houses in front of a live audience. The animation that goes with is mostly static but it has JUST enough movements to enhance the audio. Need a good laugh? WATCH THIS! :D
Public Access: PMR1
A cute movie review animation played in the style of the Siskel and Ebert (or whoever that new rewiewer's name is) TV show. The twist for this is that they review a PORN movie. It's pretty amusing having them argue about the merits of the various scenes and actors.
Punto GGG-Real Photo
A card. A call girl. What you see is what you get! Nice twist at the end.
Shave Tonight
From Dustball. Very nice. It's a parody of the song "Save Tonight" by Eagle-Eye Cherry. The author rewrote the lyrics and recorded/performed the song himself. On top of that, the animation itself is actually just an animated storyboard that he created for another animator to use as a guide while creating the "real" version. Plans fell through but he touched it up a bit and added the mouths so it can be seen as-is. How is this not in a music collection? It's also got a ranking of over 4.00 still and no daily place.
The Fuhrer's Face
Great little musical cartoon lampooning Nazism. The song, "Der Fuehrer's Face" is by Spike Jones and is from a walt disney nazi mockery titled "Donald Duck in Nutzi Land" and was created as a a propaganda piece against Germany during WWII.
Clam by the bus
A short little funny on the value of mom's for their annoying... erm angelic brats. I MEAN KIDS! It gave me a good chuckle.
The Mouse (true story)
I found this rather amusing. A man catches a mouse that has taken up residence in his home. Once he has the rodent he decides to kill it in a manner that ends up being very unfortunate for both him... and the mouse. Is it based on true events as the title says or is it an urban legend? You decide.
Lifepoint1
They did the entire Xin series on a mouse and numerous other cartoons. I have read they have meant to get one for quite awhile but didn't have the money. I don't know of they used their cash prize from winning the monthly prize for Xin18 towards a tablet but if not that would be a great guy to hand it out to and I'm sure they would appreciate it. :)
Clocks grabbed all the daily places last year if I am not mistaken and even if not, the daily fifth for last Star Day was a pathetic 3.50 and the daily fourth was only slightly higher and none were above 4.00 and that's WITH the mass voting. I remembered looking at the scores after the daily awards came out and thinking how pathetic those scores were. Quite sad that they couldn't achive anything better.
Sweeping the awards with scores like that are NOTHING to be proud of. It just so happened everyone else happened to submit mediocer flashes. At best. None of those movies managed to get the weekly places which I notice that the Clock Crew sweeped. I had no idea about the 9:00 cut off was only for the daily awards... Heck I thought the daily awards were more like 10-11pm. When is the weekly award cut off?
Too bad the best movies were not released earlier. Still it just goes to show that none of the clones can keep pace with the original, the best, the Clock Crew.
Woot!
My votes:
1. XIN Session
I love LifePoint. They make such good stuff and Xin is one of my favorite series on NG. I'd love for them to win something.
2. Johnny Rocketfingers
As of my posting this I would say JR is the best game of 2006.
3. the YuYu
Great art as always. An easy pick.

Found it. The name of the game is "Die in Style".
Wierd that the flash popped up on the "Classics of the Day" so soon after I posted about it. It was submitted 08/04/2003 01:21AM EST. I've never noticed it posted there before and I have been thinking about it for over a year now.
I'm a bit surprised I missed it when I went over the lists, seeing how it had won Daily First, Weekly Users' Choice and Review Crew Pick but I guess the name threw me.
As I have feared though, it was deleted by the author about a year ago. Too bad. I hope he gets around to fixing and reposting it someday, it was the best "kill the character in various ways" game I have ever played.
I don't unterstand why in every other game the character you kill is such a smuck. They scream and beg for their lives (and sometimes not even that much) but don't really fight for survival. Well... except for that one series that is mostly erased on NG as well. I remember one guy that did games like that but they were too graphic and disturbed me. Plus, the characters were tough but not cool. It's much better when they are both. ;)
Anyway, at least I found out what happened.
Yay?
It's kind of like STICK FIGURE PENALTY only the hero isn't completely lame. There's about a dozen weapons that you can chose to kill him but the subject is allowed to fight back. He had a bunch of cool sayings that you could listen to before starting the game too.
The first option was knives the hero gets attacked by a scientist with a knife but he beats him and then again after that test. He gets killed only on the third try after he has been completely tied down. There was sword, sniper rifle and even a cyborg that would fight and kill him but the best part was using the shot gun which set up a daring prison escape where the hero gets away but not before killing a whole lot of people that tormented him.
The different types of sticks were divided into the blue enforcers, the, um, white (I think) scientists and the black hero who is actually a criminal that has murdered countless people before being caught.
It was the most awesome "chose the stickman's death" game I have ever seen. I think it was released in 2003 or 2004. I don't understand how it cannot be in the stick games collection and I can't even find it when I look under past daily 1st and 2nd place winners. I am sure it got at least second.
Does anyone know what I am talking about? Was it erased? It was just such a great game I can't believe I can't find it.
