Heh, I still think million dollar salaries is a bit pushing it for just playing sports. I mean, even if they ARE amazing, that's all they do in life; shouldn't they be amazing at it? They don't have jobs other than practice. At the time they put into the sport, everything is EXPECTED.

Me neither. Ah, no offense to anyone here, but all 'national' league sports are basically highschool dropouts with big ego's playing for their yearly 50 million dollar salary.
Meh, I think all athletes playing in sports should be given a $100,000 salary at MOST. Otherwise, dropping out of school is encouraged for kids who think they have a shot. Then comes in welfare and the poor neighborhoods, etc. :/
Anyways, I've received some "motivation" to continue working on, and eventually completing Episode 6, and I think it's turning out nicely.
Motivation? You mean my yelling? Or someone stalking you on AIM? ;)
Mind you, I am almost improvising as I have no complete story set in my mind so sometimes it can get difficult to decide where the story should progress.

Also, Liz: might or might not be active in the week to come. Probably not, but after that, my activity will pick up. The trimester is ending after next week, and my teachers are pushing in last minute projects + tests.

Vista has an option for that, but I'm not too sure that the other versions of windows do.
Anyway, linux is virus-free although. The reason for this: most of the hacker community just focuses on creating viruses for the popular os's, such as windows and osx. Linux would also be a very hard system to make a virus for, as there are no such thing as executable files. Linux can't run them.
If you get a linux, you're in the little virus-free zone. I'm dualbooting it with my laptop. It's awesome. Someone just needs to tell apple that there ARE viruses for macs so they can cut them out of their commercials.
At 2/3/10 01:21 AM, Charlotte wrote: from a purely technological perspective, this is terribly untrue.
the correct thing to say in this situation would be that you can't legally build a mac.
All too true.
bawww, nobody's debating :(

My mother has a desktop XP (probably 7-years-old by now). It takes about 10 minutes just to start up! Then whenever you try to open up a program, it'll take another 5 minutes. Also, you know how a lot of people bash Macs for "not having a right-click button"? Well, this desktop CRASHES anytime you try to right-click. :p
Heh, is it the original version? I have a about the same thing, but my notebook is using a core that isn't on the market anymore. 1.8 gighz amd single core w/ 1 gig of ram. It was crazy back then, but now, it can barely get around. The battery fizzed out on me, also. I think it just couldn't handle the abuse I dished out on it. lulz :P
Sweet! It's a desktop, right? The thing about Macs is that they are expensive, but you're pretty much guaranteed a quality product, much like building a custom PC (assuming you're good with computers).
*bows* Indeed I am, thank you. :)
I completely forgot to include a point on this, although. You can't build a mac. You can build a computer, but you can't load the OS, as apple doesn't sell the OS. Oh and BTW PC's = Macs
Clarification will be given after I have my 4 hours of daily rest. G'night for now.

I know that artists working with computers need to download a hefty amount of add-ons to make a sufficient virtual palette: brushes, applications, what have you. Downloading such tools off the Internet runs a risk, since download sites can be riddled with viruses.
This is true. Macs are better for visual programs as well because they come loaded with them. Viruses, although, I'm not too sure are much of a risk. Today, there are a crazy amount of antivirus programs for windows; I'm running with AVG, norton, windows defender, and one more I forget the name of. Viruses shouldn't be much of a problem for graphic designers unless they download a file called "thisisnotavirus.exe" or "freeram.bat". Also, macs can get viruses; just nobody bothered to develop one for the mac yet. Don't worry, I'm working on it. ;)
Recently Apple products have become popular, what with the iPod, iPhone, and soon to be iPad, so more people will want to buy into the craze. It's also a pretty OS with a significantly different interface than PC, so some people looking for a change will be attracted to it. This same thing happened with Windows last decade with the release of Windows 95--suddenly everyone started buying PCs! Hell, the 95 was my first computer.
Heh, I hate macs for this very reason. Many people are liking them BECAUSE they are becoming mainstream, and they are switching over just because of those dumbass commercials "MACS CAN'T GET VIRUSES, PC'S ARE SLOWER, PC'S ARE BAD, MACS ARE SIMPLE" and they go and dictate this crap to people who are on the verge of taking an employment in computer sciences. The best part is, when the computer specialists attempt to save them from their own stupidity, then they shrug it off and continue to blab, not even bothering to listen to the specialist.
"My mac is faster than your PC."
"My PC= quad core 3.0 gighz
your mac = dual core 2.6 gighz"
"Whatever, you shouldn't have to be liek a compuder freak to figure out which computer is better."
"So you agree now?"
"No, my mac is still faster."
"*rage*"
said scenario happened to me not too long ago.
Perfect for bringing to classes and taking notes, which I do with most of my courses.
Battery life is usually somewhat of a problem, but I don't know- I would personally get a netbook for $500 just to use for typing rather than getting a macbook for $1000 and only use it for typing.
Seems like time just isn't a friend to Windows products.
Not to notebooks- I have a laptop running from 2003, it runs alright, but not like brand new. Not even close.
On regular PC's, although, there is no problem- especially with free upgrades to your OS sent to you by Microsoft, so you don't end up using an outdated and buggy version of windows.
Looks like a great set-up to me. How much did it cost?
$1200. I built it myself. :D
This might be a fun debate, or this might turn into a hate-filled argument. All depends on how you guys deliver to my question.
I'm a PC user, and I can't understand 1 reason why someone would use a mac. Don't take this as a "ZOMG I FUCKING HATE MACS!!!1!!111!!one!!!1" I'm creating a website (required as a project) and I'm looking for reasons on why macs are good. Of course, I will debate if I don't agree. But don't take this as a hate-filled post.
This looks like a club that is decent enough to notice specs, so I will put up mine:
3.0 gighz quad phenom cores
8 gigs of ram
1.5 gigs from an ATI radeon graphics card
640 gigs of HD space running at 7200 rpm
not sure of bus speed
blu-ray re-writable lightscribe DVD-CD ROM drive
Let the debate begin?

Heh, both. Teachers have conflicting assignments, such as having papers due the same time of a midterm from another class, and then a chapter accumulative test the next day from even a different class. Then comes in the clubs...wooh boy.
Anyways, thanks for telling us again in advance, we hope you do well in your studies TP!
Thanks! :)
It's good to see that this place is really active. Hopefully the old rate will be back up soon. I remember when we got 3 pages down in one day. *nostalgia*
Also: to the new recruits, WELCOMEZ!!!!11!!one!!!1 if I didn't say before. :D
Hey guys. Long time no see?
I'm popping in here for one last time to see if I could extend my inactivity for a little longer. If that's not possible, I'd like to suspend myself from the NGPD.
It's almost impossible to keep up with the amount of work I have and still be active here. Every night I go to sleep around 1 in the morning knowing I have to get up at six. Heh, one of the nights I stayed up until 4 in the morning, grabbed 2 hours of sleep, and got a high honors on the essay I was cramming that night.
Anyway, It seems that the work is cooling down, but I still won't be able to be very active here. Lurking here would be even hard. Again, I would like to extend my inactivity (and if not, a suspension).
exercise video online that your friend recommended?
IDK, but why should he care that he caught you fapping? He already knows you were fapping- just avoid the question.
I would like to extend my period of inactivity. My teachers have loaded 4 five page projects, 3 tests, a shitload of hw, etc. All due next week or the week after.
I have almost absolutely no time for myself. Liz, would this be pushing the boundaries or the inactivity? Or can I still be in the roster?

Get a PC.
And Im planning on getting a first car soon, I said jokingly I should get the Urkle car, any one recommend any thing?
I recommend a cheap car to be your first one- and when I mean cheap, I mean CHEAP. Do NOT, under ANY circumstances, buy the car on credit. Pay it in cash, and in FULL. After you finish college and any further education, get a decent job and raise enough cash to get that BMW that you wanted in FULL.
Your friends will laugh at you, but you will laugh at them when you're riding with leather seats and they're sitting poor out on the streets. A first car is usually the financial collapsing beginning of a person's life.
Again, your friends will probably get really nice cars- but on CREDIT. They will not pay this off later in life.
Heed my advice- buy a cheap car and pay it in FULL. So long as it works and gets the job done, it's perfectly fine. Hell, to save money,do a lot of research and you can build one yourself! Beside the point- get a cheap car, payed in full, and eventually you will be cruising a fully payed for *insert dream car here*.
Also- do not EVER use a credit card, unless your job requires you have one- then use it MINIMALLY, and make sure to pay off all of your debts at the end of the month. You'll regret it if you don't.

Also, hard to keep up in here. So much activity now!
So much activity....too little time! BLARGH!
Few things that are important:
I'm going to be as inactive as I was for the past few days probably for the next week as well as the following week. Because of the extended Christmas Break, my school has barely had any class time to place the tests in; as you can imagine, every subject must give a minimum amount of tests per trimester. I'm probably going to have around 10 tests + midterms squeezed in the following days, and I NEED to get good grades on these.
I probably won't even reply to any quotes of this message. Goodbye for now, NGPD.
NOTE: I will still be lurking for 10 minutes a day to read the thread, and then shove off yet again into my textbooks.
On a different topic:
Congratulations Godsbitch on entering, hope you have a wonderful time here! :) I'm TP, one of the idiots in the crew. Pleased to make your acquaintance.
Also: if this CS match is going to take off, I'm going to be there. Steam ID's, everyone? For those who want to add me, my ID is Taker337 or Taker (space) 337. If one doesn't work, try the other.

Nah, it was way back before then. Pretty bad in March last year though, hell of a time going to school- heh, snows more in Queens than in Manhattan. The guys coordinating all of these days haven't ever heard of that, though.
However, I can remember the one before that, and it was way the fuck back in January 2004, when I was only in 8th grade.
Might of been that day- in Queens, cars couldn't get out of parking spaces in my neighborhood- this is the reason my school closed down. They were thinking of delaying it, although- making the entire staff + all the kids walk a few miles. Lol.

I had 1 snow day in my entire life, so I'm hoping for one now (got a scholarship from a public school to a private high school, and hopefully they are more lenient with the days off and such). So far it's only flurrying though. :/
