Isn't the main idea behind prototype that you can become most of the things in the game? Or your arms change or something like that....So why not include that in the example?

Irrelevant. OP is looking for someone to make a game, not a series of games that revolve around the same mechanics. Besides, it's off the point. Whether he calls it a prototype or not, he should still show us a little more if he wants to find an artist. OP feels like what he showed us encompasses the main mechanics of many successful games on NG, but infact he barely posted the product of 15min of coding. I won't even comment on the "AI".

they dont steal your game, they advertise it

nearly every game on newgrounds with over 15k views gets taken by a couple of websites. It's completely legal and it keeps the flash economy going. if you don't want people to take your game, write a code to make the game load only if the page adress is newgrounds. I don't think people will go through the effort of decompiling and removing the code just for having your games on their websites, so it should keep you safe.

I've just started doing it and I'm just wondering if anyone else does.
If so what exercises do you do?
How much weight/reps?
And what's your targets?

sometimes when i go from my room to the kitchen i try to to it really fast even though there's stairs on the way. Most of the time it's because I go get a drink during the 20 seconds respawn timer.

Does that count as working out?

He does sometimes ask me if he's french, but I don't think he does it any more often than japapanese, swedish, american, and english; so I wouldn't go as far as blaming it for cheating.

Maybe it just means that a bigger percentage of the characters in the database are from the countries above.

Actually I'm pretty sure load isn't in uppercase. onClipEvent(load), not onClipEvent(Load)

the latter will not work

the enterFrame event means the actions will be executed every 1/fps seconds. You're telling flash every frame that gravity 1 = 0, and then you're telling it that gravity1 = 0 + gravity2, so gravity1 will always be equal to gravity2. You need to have your first statements in a load event (eg onClipEvent(load){) instead of enterframe. That will tell flash that gravity1 is equal to 0 when the frame is loaded, but won't set it back to 0 again on the next frame.

pseudocode
on load:
gravity1 = 0;
gravity2 = 2;

on enterFrame:
gravity1 += gravity2;

Either way you shouldn't memorise that by phonetic. It should become obvious by intuition. These are really basic notions

I played well over 100 hours of it and I base value on enjoyment, price and time had from it. I paid £25 for L4D, if I can get 25 hours for £25 that's a brilliant deal, there are a huge amount of shit games right now that cost >£30 and play for about 3 hours, Call of duty 4/5 being perfect examples.

I played WoW over 200 days, true story. (and 200 days means 4800 hours, not 200 days since i started). Usually I don't bother buying those games that cost 60 euros and play for 3 hours. Crysis is a perfect example of that. I finished Crysis warhead in about 2 hours and a half if i remember correctly, good thing I just bought Warhead and not the other one. I usually just torrent those kind of games.

I'm curious about console players, what makes it more enjoyable than PC? I'm perfectly comfortable here on my PC chair and I've been using keyboads ever since I played the original Rayman at 5 years of age. Also it's not like the game would look much better on a TV, I'm quite happy with my 22" LCD. Anything bigger would just

l4d2 demo finally coming tonight? I had the game fully preloaded so I could play it as soon as it goes live, and sure enough now it's "pre-loading" it again except it's at 33% and it takes like 5 minutes for 1% at 800kBps. I'm gonna buy the necessary resources incase it is released tonight. let's get at least 4 people from newgrounds so we can have one NG team.

sorry about all this l4d spam for those of you who aren't interested in gaming. it will end tomorrow after we all post about how incredibly awesome the game is (probably)

As you probably know, AI stands for Artificial intelligence. Key word: intelligence. Do you see any artificial intelligence in the code you just posted? OP has a valid point, AI is probably one of the most complicated fields of game programming. If AI was so easy, then we would have robots that give us love advice and go to the supermarket for us.
