I'm alright. I've been playing the acoustic guitar for almost 5 years, and I'm just started to play the electric a few months ago. I did this cover of Alice in Chains with both of my guitars, and mixed it with mixcraft 6.

I guess in the end, this is a perspective issue. You've made some very good points. It's true that different scenarios and actions can alter the effect of the end result. However, I just felt what pox said was odd, even if he meant to be vague.

Anyway, I did go off topic in this thread. After all, this topic is about the issues with the N-Word. So, lets move back to that topic. :)

The way that poxpower said it is like saying the victim is partly to blame for a drunk driving accident.
What you should consider is extenuating circumstances, like hostage negotiation, self-defense and duties of war.

I have considered them. However, it doesn't change the fact that the person behind the gun was the one who shot that victim/target (unless there's another person shooting the same victim/target as well, then we could argue which bullet killed the victim first). For hostage negotiations, if the suspect shot the hostage, then it's his fault. If the sniper hits his target (i.e. the suspect) or accidentally hits a hostage, then it's his fault. And it holds true in the extreme case if the hostage somehow gets the suspect's gun and shot him; it's the hostage's fault for shooting him.

Keep in mind, I'm not saying that there's no such thing as a justifiable shooting, but I'm pointing out on who's responsible for that action to occur.

Take auto insurance claims for example. Merely being on the road enables a portion of the blame to be assigned to the victim, though the accident is mostly the other driver's doing. The way pox explained it (astutely, I should add) left room for outlying circumstances such as two drunk drivers hitting eachother or a successfully executed hostage crises.

How is it the victim's fault if he's obeying the law on the road? Are you implying that the law abiding driver on the road is at partial fault because he was there at the wrong time?

In regards to two drunk drivers hitting each other, one of the drunk drivers is responsible for that accident (like he ran through the red light onto oncoming traffic where the other drunk driver hits him perpendicularly). So it's up to the police to figure out which one caused the accident while placing both of them in jail for DWI.

But yeah, I can see where it's easy to get lost in words and forget the elasticity they have. That flex is why we're all here, working out the kinks and getting some, too.

I think pox should have elaborated a little bit on how he's mostly to blame if he shot someone, but it could just be me...

A rational person needs a compelling reason to shoot someone in the face.

Football Team Accused of Bullying.. Posted October 22nd, 2013 in General

The Aledo Bearcats (a highschool football team) defeated the Western Hills Cougars 91-0. Because of the huge blowout, one Western Hills parent filed a bullying complaint because of Aledo's win.

http://www.wfaa.com/video/featured-videos/Aledos-91-0-win-earns-formal-bullying-complaint-from-Western-Hills-parent-228766911.html

From what I've read, it never mentioned the Aledo Bearcats shouting insults, or throwing punches at the Western Hills Cougars. All its states is that the bullying complaint was filed because of the score. While the Aledo Head Coach felt bad about the score, he will continue to have their team work hard to win each game.

So apparently, if any sports team does incredibly well against an opponent, they're bullies? Is it just me, or is this the most ridiculous bullying complaint I've ever heard of?

It's been two days since I've defeated A Machine for Pigs, and after letting it sink in a little, I think I gave it too much praise.

I still think the plot is great and everything else, but the fact I wasn't scared as much is more of a big deal than I realized. So yeah, the first one is better in my opinion.

Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs Posted September 11th, 2013 in Video Games

Frictional Games released an indirect sequel to The Dark Descent called, Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs!

I've just completed A Machine for Pigs, and in my opinion, it is better than The Dark Descent. Almost everything about the game is better than The Dark Descent. Unlike the previous game where I beat the game within 5 days (on and off), I completed A Machine for Pigs in 3 1/2 hours non-stop! The story kept me glued in, the sound was marvelous, the graphics were improved a little, and they even removed the annoying tender boxes! That's right, you can now keep your lantern on for just about forever.

I only have one criticism for this game, and it isn't as scary as The Dark Descent. I got really frightened in a couple of scenes, but I got more of it from the previous game. However, the game makes up for it in every other aspect.

Well guys, I think I went on long enough with my opinion. For those who have played Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs, what are your thoughts?

A Machine for Pigs is available on Steam.

Oh yeah .270 are pretty good I had a teacher who used one for hunting said it shot SRAIGHT like in a video game. Though I prefer conventional rounds like .223 or .308 when I go hunting I usually use .308 high velocity mid grain rounds accurate and deadly it takes the deer out humanely.

That's awesome! But I want to get back on topic regarding Texas's new law. I don't want mods seeing this and go, "Well, this has gone off topic, so I shall lock this!"

The funny thing about this law is, despite my concerns, I'm considering getting one now. I'm a senior in college majoring in Criminal Justice, and I'm also a licensed security guard. Not only does this help squeeze in a CHL course in my busy schedule, but if I feel comfortable enough, I can upgrade my security license to become armed.

Still, for every person like me, there's also a person who has no experience with guns. I'm really interested to see how the instructors will pull it off. Perhaps in the future if I decide to take the course, I'll post here stating how it went, and if I feel it was effective enough that 99% of the newcomers have learned something.

if you want a good rifle try Remington 700 ad if you want that lethal accuracy and power go with a .308, besides WWII rifles go for like 2-3 grand a pop not worth it.

They mean fatal force. Like if they illegally enter your home or start brutalising A member of your family you can shoot them down like the dogs they are.

They better have those body-worn cameras on them when it happens. Otherwise, there will be too much of a gray area to know what really happened. Did the cop get attacked by the member of the family first or not? Was this member of a family a wanted felon? This is why making cops where those cameras on their bodies so important because it provides the real picture of what happened.

Most (read: nearly all) criminals who have guns got them in a pipeline that originates from home robberies. People wanting to keep their gun close for self defense are unwittingly and stupidly creating the problem they wish to defend themselves from.

That brings up a relatively good point. Smart criminals, when they burglarize a house, knows that safes are easy targets. So having a tiny safe that has a pistol inside it can create a bit of a paradox. The safe is meant to protect your belongings, but in reality, criminals know that if they see a small enough safe that they can carry, they'll just take the whole thing!

Other than gun safety and penal codes, I don't know what's all in a CHL course. Hopefully they also teach proper gun storage that works.
