I was only seven, but my mom, my brother, and I were involved in a brief "road rage". There was a lot of traffic on a neighborhood street because we were right outside of a middle school, and my mom was trying to pull out from a line of parked cars on the curve. This woman was, at the time in another car behind us, was willing to let my mom pull out, but then she began to nudge forward. My mom stopped and waited for a few seconds for her to go, then she tried again only for the same thing to happen. It happened a couple more times, then the woman got out of the car, walked what looked like a stomping motion towards the driver side of my moms car, and began to yell at her calling her an idiot. That was the gist of it, no one was hurt, and the woman left a few seconds later.
Sometimes I like to watch road rage videos on YouTube. This one is pretty interesting, as you could argue who is really the worse driver. This one is just bat shit crazy!!!
On a side note, I want a dash cam for my car one of these days.
There are handguns that does not have a safety mechanism, so it could be possible the mother had one of those.
For someone who claims to be "going on 39", you act like a tween. Heck, many 13 and 14 year olds on Newgrounds probably act better than you do. You completely lost me on whatever you're trying to say OP, so good day to you.
Everyone, I think I'm finally going to start my career. I am (or at least I think I am because anything can happen), in the process of becoming a jailor with the Washington County Sheriffs Department. The county is located in between Austin and Houston, and the county seat is Brenham, which is a small town of about 10,000 or so residents. If it all goes well, then I can apply to be a sheriffs deputy and head to Texas A&M University to get my Peace Officer License (and the department pays for it).
I'm really excited that I have my foot in the door, but it seems like I'm entering this profession at the wrong time because of recent events in Ferguson and New York City to name a couple. That's something I'll have to try not worrying about, because their actions (whether it were justified or not) does not reflect my actions in the end. Only I can make my own judgement when each situation calls for it.
So far, I've submitted my hair sample for drug testing, and I am waiting to be scheduled for the physical and psychological exams.

The question is does anyone think that Carson is serious, or is this just another smoke and mirrors trick to rile up his potential voter base?
I've done a small bit of research on him (and it's a wikipedia article of all things. lol), he seems to have a very poor choice of words. Whenever his speeches gets some controversial attention, he had to re-explain what he meant by what he said, and so far it seems to be at least understandable (not that I agree with all of it, but it's at least fairly rational).
My money is going to be on the latter. There has been far worse situations many times over in the past, and I don't really recall any President enacting martial law that wasn't during wartime or in an armed rebellion, so where's the fire so to speak? Not saying it isn't possible, but is highly unlikely and not something we should take any serious stock into.
If he's being serious by what he said and it isn't taken out of context, then I agree completely. It's a ploy to get more votes from the extreme right.

Wow. That's a bit of a scare, but at least you were able to fix it.
It doesn't seem to matter if the Cowboys will win or not (it looks like they won anyway), because they already are in the playoffs.

I think this would be more suited for the race relations thread, even if police were mentioned in a few lines. It doesn't seem to directly talk about the police, but more about race, especially the part of "he was being harassed because he was black."

A lot of people come here loaded down with misinformation from propaganda sites, then try to unload, thinking they're smart, then get blown away by people who can neatly and efficiently counter anything they say, then they leave in a huff and don't come back.
Personally, my time here has been enlightening. When I first showed up I was the same way as many were. Loaded down with preconceptions and filled with propaganda. After being blown away many times, I feel like I'm a better person for it, or at least learned to think a bit better. I still have my opinions and sometimes my train of thought flies off the track and spills facepalm oil everywhere, but that's just life.
I think the main reason people don't come here is because they can't handle being wrong, or having their notions challenged.
It definitely takes a lot of back bone to accept being wrong. I'm still relatively new on the politics forum (or at least still not very active compared to others), and I'll admit, I hate being told I'm wrong. This place however, helps me accept that I am wrong when it happens. So, my advice for debating onto the BBS is don't be discourage when you feel that you are wrong. None of us are here to call people idiots, but to learn from each other (and make friends in a lot of ways). When I don't know enough about what people are talking about in the politics forum, I'll take the time to read the responses and form an opinion from there.
Branching out would also make you more visible on the politics forum, and that's something I seem to lack. It isn't necessarily a requirement on the politics forum, but more people will recognize you as a politics regular if you do. I'm kind of stuck on Texas Government and Criminal Justice, and even though everyone here probably knows one particular topic well compared to others, you're not really gaining anymore knowledge than you could be.
Some leftovers are awesome though. Like if I have left over ham or turkey, they make fantastic sandwiches!
I'm leaving town in just a few minutes for Christmas, but first I want to share this article of a recent police shooting in St. Louis.
The video shows Antonio Martin pointing a gun at the officer before he was killed, yet according to another Newgrounds thread (back at General), there have been protests already for police brutality. When I come back, I'll make a more detailed post.
Some may say it's a waste of resources for the police to hand out random Christmas Presents instead of doing their job like handing fines an apprehending criminals, but I think this is pretty cool.

I understood what he said, but saying that English Class hasn't taught him anything new is laughable. No one can get away with a paper written in almost all caps, let alone some "i's" not capitalized here and there. It's more of a personal pet peeve of mine than anything really. He has responded without using all caps though, so perhaps he just didn't give a crap earlier.

Believe me, I get why some people are furries, and I get why they like to dress up in fursuits (including the tail). I just don't understand physically wanting a tail for the reasons I've stated already. If it's something you really desire though, then that's awesome! :)
Tails are cool and all, but I absolutely don't understand why people want to have one physically. In order for me to consider getting a tail (and I mean like an actual tail that moves at my will or by my emotion), there needs to be a practical reason for them, like communication, movement, or survival needs. Dogs have tails to communicate, leopards and jaguars I believe have tails for balance purposes, and rattle snakes have a rattle on its tail to worn predators.
Without any or all of these, then it's just a hassle to deal with. Cleaning it, cutting holes in my pants and underwear, and potentially being harassed by strangers. The last thing I want is some jackass pulling my tail all the time...
To each their own I guess.

If you manage to find a Subaru Outback, get it. Most of those cars are indestructible from what I've heard. I drive one myself (2001), and it's been great.

I got my Bachelor's Degree in May, had a good time interning with Texas Parks and Wildlife for the summer, and now I'm still looking for a full time job. Sort of a mix bag, but something will turn around for me.

Is it just me, or is this topic starting to get a bit off topic? Aren't we talking about privatizing the police?
I have a question to bring to this topic, and I don't know if it has been addressed or not, but has there ever been an effective private police force in any country that isn't power hungry on money?

Oh, I will add that my last final paper was in African American History since 1865, and I scored a 99. I've been wanting to know what made me lose one point.
