my experience: they are really cool and fun to use

i know you can do a darth vader breathing sound, yet a gasmask i know you can fake buy talking into a glass a certain way. if you mean electronically, a delay and reverb maybe a slight vocoding might work. i might give this a try.
i know to get the split effect that meryl has in the first game is done by recording the first voice then playing a second edited version over it, it was also used on the B&B units in MGS4.

I think using "fake" instruments or samples stretches creativity (the reason for music, no?) past the limit of real instruments.

Im running out of piano only (both original and piano covers) music to listen to, if you have any please post it in this thread. I like slow, yet moving composures with subtlety but not too much subtlety. If you want to recommend someone feel free to. This isnt for a flash or anything, i just want something to listen to. :)
