Here's a different situation: An African-American man gets arrested for a crime. What's going to happen? The majority of the time, if a white officer arrested him, it will be considered racism. Then the case will either be dropped or a lighter sentence given because of the ability of people to cave into racial pressure. (P.S. This is a hypothetical situation)
Do the crime, do the time should apply to all crimes. However, with women it is a though, which others have said before, that women are considered to be the weaker sex. This kind of mindset could cloud the judge's mind and a lighter sentence could be given.
It's some phenomenon that happens, that if you aren't white or male a different sentence may be given. However that may not be true all the time, I'm just saying that as a opinion and what I've seen before.
