You'll probably get stuck in the ceiling though, just tweak it a bit.

Doesn't really seem to work, because it's not really stopping me from jumping over the bar.

Bar Collision from the bottom Posted September 25th, 2010 in Game Development

This is something that has been bothering me for a while.

So this is what I use to stop my character's gravity from bringing his _y down.

onClipEvent(enterFrame){
if(_root.ground.hitTest(_x, _y, true)){
grav = false;
}
else {
grav = true;
}

}

But here's the thing. I'm also trying to get it to stop itself from jumping through the bar. For example, while pressing up to jump up it goes through the block and doesn't get stopped from it.

Could anyone help me with this kind of collision problem? Thanks

Flash 8 Brush Vs. Cs+ Brush Posted August 23rd, 2010 in Game Development

Everyone's saying how flash 8 is better because the brush isn't effed up by adobe's latest programs.

Really? It matters that much? Someone please tell me why.

To me limited animation is when you use less than mediocre animation, like FBF or tweens.

Usually a good example of limited animation is Blinklife. It's a great series of information but has a nice and simple animation to it, which probably took 1 week or less to make.

there are 2 ways to do that

a) literally drag the timeline slider in the center

b) use the "," and "." key to move along the timeline center

wasn't included in this handout. It had been out of judgment since 11-ish, and at midnight it had 3.80+. Is this common?

If you released it since 11, you'll just go through another day cycle of voting just to get the required amount of votes. If you don't believe me go to the FAQ.
