I've just started on my first animation and have created several enviroments. One, for example, is 11MB - I'm wondering how I make the file size smaller as obviously I can't have a ton of enviroments this size in my animation? What do people normally do to make their individual clips/enviroments smaller sizes?
I'm trying to copy something from flash into fireworks but when I do it is tiny on the canvas, despite the fact that I've set both canvas to 550x400. I'm also confused by the resolution box in fireworks. Basically I want the image that fits the canvas in flash to fit the canvas in fireworks so I can work on it there. Anyone give me some insight?

It doesn't at all, in no aspect does the quality of editing, drawing, animation or anything else suddenly become of greater quality because you are given a plot. The only difference is the viewer is given an insight into why it is drawn or animated in this way, which only people with little imagination need.
Time and time again I see good, if not epic fight scene flashes on this site and upon reading the comments, the author is bombarded with, 'I don't know why the are fighting', 'it would be better if there was a story', 'it was good but they are fighting for no reason', comments. This really frustrates me because not only is it conveying to the author that their idea is diluted without a story,
but why the hell does everything need a story for some of you? This (insert random fight animation) flash isn't a 30 minute cartoon with a start and a finish. It isn't a feature length film telling a story. It's simply a short flash animation to express the authors creativity and thoughts. Just because you don't know why the characters are fighting doesn't mean there isn't a reason, maybe there is and you just don't know what it is. Why do you think knowing the reason between the fight would 'make the flash better' ? What if you were told the robot stole the ninjas girlfriend and so a fight pursued...would that make it better for you? You don't need to know the reason behind a flash for it to be good, make your own reason if you really have to, but for everyone who reads this and knows they are guilty of asking for a reason, I hope you reconsider next time and realise that you do not need to know the reason and accept that it is the authors creativity.
Thats a barrett rifle and the only reason it look so big is because of the angle the photo was taken from
