I've got the YLOD.
Should have taken out your HDD last week, when I did mine. I had no problems, and the full system backup kept the games I traded for, which was a nice plus. The hardest part was formatting my external to FAT32.

What about what you've heard? I know that not everyone is going to own/have played extensively the games I listed, but you have to have some kind of knowledge about it.
Oh, forgot to add this.
My dad is helping out a friend of his get some video games for his son. I gave my opinion, but I haven't played most of the games that the kid wants, so I was wondering if you guys could help me out.
If you could just give each of the games a rating out of 5 (you can put halves), and a quick (10 words or less) blurb about why you gave it that rating. If you're too retarded to understand that, I'll give an example:
Farcry 2:
4/5. Looks great, open world, but gets repetitive.
Here's the list:
Saints Row 2
Dead Space
Dark Sector
Fear 2
Farcry 2
Jericho
Watchmen (I assume both 1 and 2, so just rate the series as a whole)
Wanted
Lord of the Rings
Lost Planet
Tomb Raider
Enemy Territory
I assume the kid has a 360, so rate the games based on that.

Honestly, it's the best background that I've ever seen in the years I've been coming here. I even like the snow blowing across the header where your account is and how it's slightly foggy.

Drexel is a great school, that was one of my choices. I believe Tom Fulp went there as well. That means if you go there you too will run a million dollar site full of hentai and 13 year old boys!
Unfortunately, I won't be doing any programming, so no hentai in my future. If I do go there, I'd be going for their accelerated law program, where I can get my JD in 6 years, instead of the usual 7.

Nice job. That's better than what I've gotten so far - acceptance to Drexel and Rutgers, and a rejection from U Penn. And the rest of my applications don't look so good - Georgetown and Columbia.

Just so you know, you used me twice on the rankings list. I'm correct on the master rankings list since I went 13-3, but just thought you should know in case you have some kind of template that got messed up.
I say we stop busting balls so the judging can get done.
It's easy to look on from the outside and criticize, but much harder to actually be on the inside.
By the same token, there were some things that the judges should have done earlier to prevent the judging to have lasted this long.
But what's happened has happened and can't change, so let's just drop the whole subject.

Thank god. The entire game is about mood and immersion, and I would hate to hear a chime and watch a giant grey box appear in the top right corner while I'm trying to fend off some giant black guy in a construction yard.

But why would licensing be an issue? EA/MTV/Harmonix bought the ability to use The Beatles songs. Unless the contract states that the songs must be used as in a stand-alone game, they should be exportable to RB2, excluding the music videos and harmony feature.
The only way I can see them making it exportable is if they take out the harmonies and music videos, which would probably require a lot of work, and by the looks of things, it seems like they had an adverse relationship when it comes to work.
hey guys! let's not upgrade our game in anyway, but instead just throw a popular band's name at the end of the title put only their songs in there! it'll be awesome!
Way to go Giants. If only the effort you put into losing went to winning, you'd be 13-0. Over 500 yards of offense, and you still lose 45-38? Jesus Christ, give the Rams anything they want; I want Spagnuolo back!
At 12/13/09 04:24 PM, TheMaster wrote: Licensing. Just like they had to release The Beatles as a non-exportable game because that's all they could get the rights for
Now you're making stuff up. It couldn't be exported for the exclusive feature of the Triple- and Double-Vocals. Basically, you can have up to 3 people sing; 1 person sings the melody while the other 2 back them up. Since that's not available for Rock Band 2, each song's code wouldn't work.
In other news, by backing up my PS3, it saved everything, including the games I traded for. A pleasant surprise.
Stevie Wonder, you mad.
For those that missed it, he wants video games more accessible to those with disabilities, such as blindness. If you don't see the humor in wanting a complex hand-eye coordinated activity made for blind people, you're a retard.

I concur. Green Day has a couple of good songs, but anything after/on American Idiot is horrible.

And there's going to be one that is studded with diamonds soon.
Thanks for your support guys. Just as an explanation, I went early decision for U Penn not because I liked their academics/name recognition, but because of the feeling you get when you walk on campus and the fact that they give you whatever they deem you can't afford. Even though you're in West Philadelphia (unfortunately, Will Smith's reasons to go to Bel-Air were real), you feel like you're in a small suburban college. And there's this feeling.... it's hard to describe, but it just makes you feel welcomed and friends with everyone there. And of course, graduating without loans would be amazing.
But not only that, it's been my dream to go to the Ivy League ever since I was little. Just like some people want to go to Ohio State for football or Duke for basketball, I wanted to go to Princeton (only because it was a great school in New Jersey; it changed to UPenn after taking a tour and finding the above). I've always been good in school, and worked hard to get towards a shot at these places. Lady Luck hasn't always been kind, but I've played the hands I was dealt to the best of my ability. I've been knocked down too many times to count, and some of those times were just to see if I could get back up. And I always did. Because I knew that if I did, that I'd be able to not only reach my goal, but also be able to make it there. But I guess UPenn didn't see that.
And Cobra, as I told my mom when she said the same thing - apparently it's not, since they didn't want me to be a Quaker.
As for my collegiate future, I've already been accepted into Drexel and Rutgers, and from the looks of it, I've got a good shot at Georgetown. I have a horrible Writing SAT (which probably got me thrown out of the running for UPenn), but Georgetown doesn't look at that. Otherwise, I'm a pretty likely candidate. Of course, by adding padding to help with my fall from Penn, I could be taking it from Gtown.
But getting rejected was just the beginning of one of the worst days I've had in a while. On top of not getting into U Penn,I had to spend my night working my schools Battle of the Bands, which wouldn't have been so bad if I wasn't backstage where all I could hear was the drums and had to help move all the amps, guitars, and drum kits on and off the stage.
Then on the way home, I discovered my car broke. The output shaft seal (part of the transmission) is broken and leaking fluid, which in turn makes it hard for my car to get going again after I stop. It's been leaking the last few days, but it wasn't much, and since I park in the street, I thought the wet spots were just condensation. Only figured it out when I pulled into my friends driveway to let him out when I saw a good 15 oz of pink viscus liquid on the driveway. Can't call the repair shop until Monday. The only consolation is that the transmission was rebuilt and a 1 year warranty is still in effect.
just found out I didn't get into my first choice college, upenn. too sad to type more.

Meh, I find no use for it. I'm not buying a second PS3 anytime soon, nor do I have a PSP.
No 3D though?
There aren't enough 3D ready TV's out there to make it worth while. But I've seen reports that say that there will be 40 million 3D TV's in homes by 2014.
And Sony did hint towards 3D gaming earlier this year, so we might be seeing something by the end of next year, or at least have an idea that they're working on it.

I doubt that will make the process that much faster; you'd still have to read the stories at least once in order to judge them fairly.
But personally, I just want to see how I did, so I say do whatever you feel would make judging the fastest.

Of course, since you're from up north, it's Taylor Ham. But to us redneck hicks down in the pinelands, it's a pork roll. But a rose by any other name would smell just as sweet. Or just as tasty.
You know, I always wanted to move up north for a bit. My mom and dad are from Livingston and Bayonne, respectively, and they can't stop gushing over how much better the north is than the south.
I think New Jersey is the most divided state to ever be a part of America. Unfortunately, you won't see any splits, since the south relies on the north for property taxes. Without you, our taxes would be through the roof.
I've seen better websites on AOL Hometown. Disgraceful.
And it cost the government $113 million to create.
I need to head back out the portal and get me some points.
At 12/7/09 10:48 PM, BlueFlameSkulls wrote: Do you Americans not have the same rubbish Brits do when it comes to cars?
If you want a car here you need the following.
Car (durr)
Insurance that costs almost double more than the car is worth if you're 17-21 but still doesn't go down that much after you pass that age.
21? Our's doesn't drop until 25. Although generally the insurance isn't much more than the car. Mine car cost $1,000 and I'm paying about $800 a year in insurance. Not a great difference, but close.
Tax everywhere it hurts
Where does it hurt?
Petrol.....need I mention to petrol prices?
Even though gas has shot up in prices the last few years here, it's stabilized around $2.75 a gallon. For perspective, that's about 1.70 pounds a gallon. There's about 3.75 liters per gallon. That makes 0.45 pounds per liter.
So yeah, it's not that bad for us over here.
If you're unlucky to live in say London (and soon Manchester) you have the congestion charge.
None of that bullshit. The US is mostly spread out because of the suburbs, and most people in the cities take cabs or just walk. Way too expensive to own a car in the city, even in America.
In the end you can only afford something that WILL break down and is FUBAR in a matter on months.
Does Britain have a decent, affordable car anymore?

Got Rock Band 2 and a 250 GB HDD. I think I win.
In other news:
Dead Space 2 is confirmed, although we all knew this was coming.
Brad Pitt will be starring in a Dark Void movie. Not sure if want. Also, cinematic trailer for the game.
Logitech is possibly making a UMD drive for the PSPgo. Again, not sure if want.
New Tomb Raider will have multiplayer. Uncharted went from Tomb Raider rip-off to game for Tomb Raider to rip-off.
Andy Murray's girlfriend leaves him because he plays too much PS3. Sony - making guys lose their hot girlfriends one Trophy at a time.
Seriously though, Kim Sears is hot.
Just got a brand new HDD (250 GB) and Rock Band 2 for my birthday.
Probably won't be playing until tomorrow though, since tonight, Big Bear is Doin Thangs
On to happier news.
for those that probably don't know, today is my birthday! Finally 18, although that doesn't really entitle me to much more than a 17 year old. I can't even buy cigarettes in New Jersey.
But I did register to get drafted, and what a website they have. Here's a link for those that care to laugh at the ridiculous header, seemingly random group of young men standing around in various regional clothing, the overly-patriotic bald eagle and how cheap the site looks.
Seriously, I could make something a lot better than that.

The thing with McNabb is that he's inconsistent. One week, he'll be throwing laser right at the Jackson's hands in stride from 15 yards out, but the next week he'll drill balls into the ground from 3 yards out. Also, he plays in a psuedo-West Coast system, so his completion percentage will always be pretty good.
McNabb usually doesn't fuck things up, like throwing a whole lot of INTs or anything, he just rarely gets it done in the 4th quarter when given the chance.
He can come from behind. It's not often, since the Eagles either win big or not at all, but he has some times shown some leadership late in the game. And Eli rarely throws a bunch of int's. He just is either inaccurate or is awesome.

The Saints stay perfect but did so after having to come back against...Washington? You almost lost your perfect streak to a garbage team like Washington? The team that lost to the Lions?
That always happens. Besides the fact that the Skins have finally started to look like (at the very least) last year's team, a lot of those "and 0" teams go down to low-level teams. I remember the Cowboys lost to the Lions late in the season 3 (?) years ago, when they were something ridiculous, like 15-2.
My dream scenario right now is that the Saints and Colts both stay perfect and meet in the Super Bowl
It'd have to go down as one of the best Super Bowls to ever to have been played. A least before the game. Who knows what'll happen during.

I actually liked it. Sure, when your team blows (which is more often than not), the game gets more frustrating than fun, but overall I had to say I liked it.
The only problem I foresee - once the initial wave of players wanes down, matches will be less fun/only filled with the hardcore players. So after about 2 months or so after release, the game won't be fun anymore and it'll be hard to come by a full match.
Personally, I'd steer clear unless you plan on playing it a lot. So I'm crossing it off my Christmas list.
