Me, I'd love to see a few lessons on how to optimize flash. I just put a great deal of work into making a new remastered version of my Lilly Dressup Doll (Okay, so that was a tasteless plug) but with the music clips and scanned artwork and all it took up over a meg at first. I twiddled with the compression options for everything, compromising between size and quality, getting it down to 630K, that aint so bad, right?

But yeah, I think tackling this topic right away and keeping tutorials on the FRONT PAGE (Face it, some idiots who can't do flash right just aren't smart enough to navigate all the way to your tutorial page) will help you out loads in the long run, and let me see what I want on a friday afternoon without them darn bandwidth errors.

The 'cosplay' outfits (Faye, Yuffie, Rei, etc...). My understanding of 'Fair use' is too limited and I can't afford any legal hassles)

Ive already blew a good deal of money kinda on my new PC and i need a good program for making 3D flash. whatever I'll use, I'll use it to both vectorize charactors from Poser 4, and make simple 3D background art. What are your thoughts on which is better, and why? If it's swift, i just want to know if it's worth the extra $100 price tag.

Alright kids, if anyone has played the classic generic zombie shoota (http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view.php?id=7274) , here are all the easter eggs
1. At the movie briefing ( http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view.php?id=7273 ) , click on the zombie heads in the windows to reveal one with an easter egg . It shows lilly changing into her daring swimsuit and the code for carnage mode (no reloading necessary), igiveita5 . Type it at the title screen of the GAME to get it to run.
2. Beat the game wit a score of S to get the rocket launchers. TO get a score of S:
first, do NOT run from the boss
second, do not get hit
third, shoot with 100% accuracy
finally, minimize bullet usage. try and master using the blade on the weak zombies
3. to get the mary dressup doll, which has many more items than the one on the portal, beat the game three times consecutively. you can get as bad a score as you want, and run from the boss, just dont die.
Bugs i never fixed:
1.Just shoot the boss in the mouth when choosing wether to fight him. dont select a choice. instant kill.
2.Stream. start the game early enough and lose before the game is done loading. the screen will go black then normal, and you cannot doe.
I got that CD-RW drive i wanted, and a stereo. My dad 'got' a PS2. You see, my mother only can take away video games as some sort of deserved punishment. But now that old bastard can jerk us around as much as he wants if we want to use it.

Im mostly neutral to the popups too. ya gotta do what ya gotta do to stay afloat. But one ad draws the line on the Dressup section. one of those scripts automatically installs this little sexviewer.exe without any permission at all on my desktop, start menu, and taskbar. On principal, i find that a little invasive. Anyone here agree?

Seriously. Id think an anime Pico, done right, would rock. You could go one of two ways.
For a young boy, make him as tough as possible. Like Mononoke's Ashitaka, or Gundam's Heero. Make the eyes a bit smaller, the irises/pupils a lot smaller. Young but grizzled.
Or, you could just go off the deep end and make him as kawaii as possible, until like Compdude said, he wouldnt have the guts to wield a shotgun. Then, make him wield a shotgun! For that Baby Bonnie Hood Charm.
As for that last thread's discussion, That sucks dog balls about how you cant host no more. I dont blame ya. You're having trouble hosting hourself it seems. At least do you know of any NG Network worhty low cost servers?

Just put backgrounds in the background movie clip. And make each background frame tell target the characters in it (in the main movie actually, but appearing in that b.g.) to become visible and all others invisible.

As for Pico2... I considered putting the backgrounds into their own movie clip, but each setting has characters that you interact with, so they would also be in the movie clip. As soon as you start putting characters in movie clips, you have to do more stuff to get their true x and y values, and it all just starts to become a headache.
It could work that way, but I think the new way might be more flexible anyway... I hope. :)

Except we didn't get punced in the face. We got punched in the back. And the little shit that did it ran off. Now, we could go around punching in the face everyone in the area, and then go to someones house he might be hiding at, and when the host refuses to let you at him without a good reason (evidence), beat up him and his wife and kids.
I think clinton sucks too, but i also disapprove of his actual methods instead of just saying he sucks to look cool. methods that are being imitated right now: bombing your enemy from 2 miles up or a thousand miles away. No wonder those bombs are too inacurate to keep from killing afhgan children.
Just another thought for the warpigs: How do we know when the bombs did their job? if Bin Laden is in one of these caves or military training camps and we accidentally cremate him beyond identification, how would we know? How would we know when to stop wasting these million dollar bombs?

But the politicians, ever so afraid of more casualties, hide behind the northern alliance to do their dirty work: a vicious coalition of war criminals and thugs that also slaughtered their own people before, and will do so again. I support a REAL war. not a made for CNN war. but i'm not going to attack a pacifist just for disagreeing with me.
And if you support the beating of a person for simply disagreeing with you, the punishment of a nonviolent person for nonviolent speech, not only are you not a respectable american, you arent an american at all. Just some fascist thug that happens to be living in this country.

That sort of math hasnt been THAT hard for me, i'd offer my services but i just cant seem to translate my knowledge into flash actionscript without stomping out 50 goddamn bugs in the code. And another thing. You mentioned redoing pico's look a good while back, which im all for. what's the update on that? You gonna keep that little southparkey chibbi pico?
Just do it either resident evil style or metal gear style! Always firing directly ahead, and whatever movement engine floats your boat (up means up, right means right OR up means foward, right means twist countercloackwise).
If the game was primarily combat and stuff, a more maneuvarable move-and-fire engine might me in order, but a more brainy game like MGS style tactical/stealth or RE style keys/puzzles can get away with something less sophisticated
Keys complicate things a bit and slow the game down, so id have pico face the same direction as the mouse cursor, and follow it when the mouse button is down. and either talk to or shoot anything but open ground.
I'm all for cameos, and ill gladly lend a hand.

Throughout this post, i may mistakenly use the term 'we' when i really mean 'our politicians' frankly, two letters are easier to type than 14, and i just want to clear this up ahead of time, bill. I'm an american. im proud to be an american. i think 9/11 has brought out the best in my people. The donors nationwide that gave money and blood, the locals that are giving their time clearing rubble, and the police officers and firefighters that gave their lives. 'Nam was a classic example of the ass-backwards cold war policies that got us into this mess.
I dont give a shit what the vietncong did to dissenters after the war. Our helping the south vietnamese kill some of their tormentors' family members and burn down some of their tormentors' homes and agent orange their tormentors' jungles only made it worse for them when we left them in their own shit. Also consider the dictators we supported, like Diem, were just as bad. Is it better when a dictator kills a communist than when a communist kills a capitalist? Consider that dictators tend to kill supporters of democracy and communism with equal glee.
2) Will we ever regret our war with the Taliban?
Not as long as those who control the media continue to do so. The massive civilian casualties in Iraq, and continuing totalarianism and sexism in kuwait are grossly glossed over by the media prostitutes. After Allied Force, the violence did NOT stop, it only reversed, and most of the serbs were either chased out of Kosovo or killed. But the media once again wrote 'and they lived happily ever after. The End.' and moved on. And when Clinton touted that he stopped the violence in Kosovo, the audience applauded as if it were true. After the embassy strikes, the media prostitutes totally looked the other way on the wrongful bombing of the sudanese pharmaceutical plant and the thousands that might still be alive if they still had a source of medicine.
It would be wrong for me to criticize the bombing so early in the game, considering Dubya might become possesed with the ghost of Harry Truman, follow up with ground troops, clean out the taliban, and build afganistan from the ground up, dragging the afghan people, kicking and screaming, into the 21st century. But what i fear is that he might rely on the same chickenshit tactics that they've used ever since the beginning of the cold war. Bomb them to shit from a safe distance, and let the Northern alliance do the dirty work of overthrowing them. That same cowardice is what got us into this mess, backing the taliban terroists when they were fighting the ruskies, but not actually putting our own asses on the line. What worries me is if the former Shah, or whatever he's called, is just as bad when he comes to power and when we're not there, looking over his shoulder, making sure some sort of new constitution is being signed that guarantees democracy. what worries me even more is that with the unprecedented media blackouts, i might never know about it. Its hard enough to hear about how we got chased out of somolia with our tails between our legs, and more about the iran-contra scandal and which people who are still in public office were in on it, and the School of the Americans and what their alumni do. Imagine if this information was illegal to have, being 'a threat to national security.'
Bush said during his address that the terrorists hate even us civilians cause they see us living in a democracy. ironically, this may be true. Other people may suffer at the hands of american forces, and see it as the will of the American people, as we supposedly control our own government. and themselves not owning a Television, they may not understand th powerful influence television has by what they sa, and what they actively dont.
3) What SHOULD we do with Jane Fonda?
Let the ugly bitch spend her autumn years in obscurity. Let the families of those american soldiers sue her ass so she spends 'em broke too. If the vietcong instead captured some of our guys on top, the polititians and upper brass, and removed THEIR fingers, id give her a medal. but no, she helped perpetuate acts of cruelty against poor working draftees who would have had to work for a living.
