Gah, you're right. That was my bad. That's what I get for being an idiot. :)
Also, to the first reply, I'm not trying to be important, I just thought it'd be a nice idea. Sorry for any misunderstandings. :S
Well, I looked around, and I can't find a tank awards discussion thread, and I figured it'd be nice to have one, so here it is!
I'd like to start off by congratulating all the winners! Also congratulations to all the nominees, and well done to all of you!
I'd also like to thank Newgrounds, and I sort of think we all should. This site has been around for a long time now, and it's always been a nice place to go for me. I have many memories here, and I've had some great fun watching movies, or playing flash games with friends. This website also introduced me to Flash, and programming, which I am thrilled I got into, because I love it so much.
I absolutely loved the awards video, and I thought it was a tad bit corny, but I definitely smiled several times. Thanks to all who contributed to that video as well, it was great.
A few rules for discussion:
1.) Of course, no spam please.
2.) Try to keep it related to this video, the awards, or the Awesomeness of NG.
3.) Please don't be a complete moron, or try to start an argument. We're here to discuss great artists, and a fantastic website.
Well, what did you think?
Did you like who won?
Personally, I think I wanted These Pancakes are Tiny to win. That was my favorite.
Also, if a mod remakes this topic, or I'm breaking rules, feel free to delete it. I just thought it'd be a nice place to discuss the awards. :)

Yes you can.
You should probably post this in the Flash Forum. :P

Gah, He got me there. I never think about stuff like that.

Relish, you're so nice, I swear.

if ($var == true) // Slower?
if ($var === true) // Faster?
Just out of a guess, an equality that has to test against two specific things is probably going to be slower than one that doesn't. Then again, that's just a random guess. :P

You made me cry. You should be ashamed of yourself.
I can "use" a lot of "quotation" marks too, but that "doesn't" mean my "argument" is any "stronger".
I call your "quotation marks," and raise "you" a "correct grammar."
I'm done for now. I could go on but this has got to be the absolute worst English language tutorials EVER. I think it's safe to say that you have NO IDEA what you're doing or talking about and you should NOT be creating tutorials until you do know what you're talking about.
That was awesome. We should add that to the list of rules around here. Maybe people would stop writing crap tutorials. :(
I think you'll have more luck looking for someone that will code for free by asking here. Seems like the majority of people on these forums only care about money, unfortunately...
It's not like we can help it. When you get older, and need to make a living, you'll be part of the same crowd.
If you're good at something, get paid for it.

Good point. I don't dab with the drag and drop, so I don't know how well it performs these days. :P

Of course you use coding blocks while coding C...
Code::Blocks is a C/C++ IDE. :P

It's dreamweaver, and two, it's so bad, it's not worth it. The markup is atrocious.
Thanks in advance!

I believe this belongs in the Flash Forum, no? :)
I will do a quick crappy one for FREE using bad HTML and as-little-as-possible CSS.
Hey if you give me an e-cookie I will even throw in some PHP code*!
I may even do some JavaScript!!!
*Well only if your host allows PHP...
This man is a twat, and I hope you don't pay attention to him.
I don't even know why he posted that.

We told you to shut the door after you walk in dude!
What did you leave it open for?
If you fail on the internet dose that mean you fail twice as much in the real world?
That is a very good question.
I only hope it isn't true...
I'd really appreciate any information you guys could give me, cheers!
Considering Apple makes it, did you check their website? :)
Info:Thanks to wikipedia.
I have to ask. Why are you here?
Because I'm your alt.
Possibly, but unlikely.

You and I think very alike...
I wonder why that is.
Right now, I can display the data just fine, but I don't know how to alternate; is it done in the PHP or the xsl file?
It could be done with PHP, sure.
Note, this code isn't going to do anything, it's Pseudo-code:
for($i = 0; $i < [things to echo]; $i++) {
if($i %2 == 0) {
echo first div
}
else {
echo 2nd div
}
}
but didnt work i then checked the net with little help and was wondering if anyone could tell me the the right mouse event code :P
Please keep Actionscript posts in the Flash Forum. :)

Because it's the correct way to do it?
Why learn wrong practices when you can learn it correctly from the beginning?
At 2/18/09 07:19 PM, ReFreezed wrote: It's best to not put css code in the tags directly. Either use the following code in the <head> tag or use an external css file.
Inline styles do have advantages though.
- They take precedence over all other styling on that object
- Use them if you have one tiny, or a few tiny elements that are not going to ever be used again, or are only used on one part of your site. This keeps your important styles in an external file, or at the top of your page.
As there are advantages, there are also a few disadvantages.
- Taking precedence sometimes makes elements harder to manage later.
Really though, the only thing I've ever used them for is wanting to really try out a style, without having to go and open an external CSS file. I can write the inline style fairly quickly, and if I like it, I'll add it to the external file, and use it later.

Thanks Ryoku for catching that :P
You wouldn't have that problem if you'd test your scripts before you start telling people about them.
=)
At 2/18/09 04:21 PM, BillysProgrammer wrote: That doesnt really explain much, what EXACTLY does it give.
Wow, Billy, confirm is a function in JS.
function gotoAddress() {
var address = document.addressForm.address.value;
var con = confirm("Are you sure you'd like to go to " + address + " ?");
if(con) { //If confirm == true
window.location = address;
}
}
This is still terrible code though, because you should probably test for the existence of http:// at the beginning of the string, etc.
I'd improve it, and make it work, but had the OP googled this, it would have taken much less time.
