Why don't they just finish high school and defer college until you're ready to go (or don't attend at all)? The average worker has been fucked over in the last 30 years due to decline in real wages, so unless you want to flip burgers or stack shelves, you should complete your high school. Gone are the well-paid manufacturing jobs and the jobs that replaced them are low-paid, low-skilled jobs with little benefits.
