You have to keep in mind that a majority of the public have no idea what each candidate stands for. The average American knows very little about anything in politics nowadays. What exactly are you referring to when you say that black people are excited for things that won't happen? I think that your argument makes sense, but isn't entirely convincing. Whether or not Obama was voted into office JUST because he was black can be argued in so many ways. In my opinion, Barrack Obama IS the better candidate, His policies make more sense and his views are reasonable. John McCain has experience, but he will not be able to connect to any modern citizen. The man doesn't even know how to work a computer. Even if your arguement is 100% true, you have to realize that being the 1st black president HAS changed the US. We have proven that race is becoming a smaller factor, and we are now one step closer to defeating racism, if possible. Obama has ALREADY done what he has set out to do, and that was to make a CHANGE.
