Yes, there is a book out there called Holy Blood, Holy Grail that discusses this. However, it can become a thick read in some parts where it discusses early Gaul/Frankish/French history and the Merovingian bloodline.

Some of it was, but these texts were determined to be heretical by the group of early Christians who found favor by the Romans, and thus became politically dominate. The New Testament was not written by God or Jesus, but rather by the winners of a mostly political Jihad.
But then again we're discussing a group of people who were formed supposedly not long after Christ's death, not many people had access to local records or Biblical texts at that time. So this group could very well have played on people's ignorance and made such a claim.
Actually the Templars were formed much later, about 900-1,000 years after Christ. They enjoyed the favor of the established Church and went to fight in the Crusades where they became defenders of Jerusalem and begun archeological excavations under the Temple Mount.
At the time the Templars were formed, people had access to the Biblical texts the church in Rome wanted them to have access to.

Hey Proteas that is not obvious. The Bible we have today has been extensivelly edited by a group that saw the political expediancy of falling in lock-step with Rome. Furthermore, it is more a reflection (I'm speaking here of the New Testament) of certain individual's opinions and interpretations of Jesus Christ (Mainly Peter and Paul).
Vast parts of the NT has been edited for content or added to (originally Luke ended at about 16:22).
There has been other texts recently uncovered by archeologists that suggest that actually Christ was married to the Magdelene (and before anyone says she is a prostitute is merely going along with a fallacy caused by the careless words of an 12C Pope). In one of these passages she is described as Christ's most favored disciple and companion (the ancient hebrew word for companion is synomous with spouse) whom he frequently kissed (ie-SEX).
Furthermore, to those who have some understanding of First Century Jewish society one can see the seeds of Christ's marriage even in the NT (in the passage where he changes water into wine, he and his mother are acting more as bridegroom and mother of the bridegroom than mere guests). It is established that Jesus and his family were actually quite pious Jews and that they adhered to all pious Jewish customs and morals. One of these customs is marriage in teenage years. So by the time Christ started his ministry at 33 he had probably been married for over 15 years and had children of his own.
If the NT is silent on this point it is probably because Peter, an ascetic, could not necessarily promote celibacy when his own Lord had a spouse and off-spring.

Well dude, I'm glad that you have differentiated those of us who respond to attacks. And you have a point, pro-clock or anti-Foamy ppl really should not come in here and take up BBS space by just trying to stir up trouble. I know I can be pretty vicious when this happens, but it is only in defense of our territory. If you want to have a debate on something ppl should either a) post a topic in the politics forum or b) start a debate club. They should not however come into other clubs and post "flame" messages just to start shit. I personally do not operate that way, and I think that very few (if any) others in this club do either.

I was having a discussion the other day with a friend over women's role in combat. After this discussion I was reading a book on the Islamist worldview (NOTE: Islamist is not the same as Islamic. Islamist refers to a political belief, Islamic a religious belief).
What peaked my interest was in this war certain Islamists have declared on the West, it seems that women actually have the most to lose.
The reason is ppl like Usama bin-Ladin believe that a return to 7th Century Islamic law and tradition will catapult Islam to world dominance (it actually says in the Koran that on Judgment Day all the world will be Islamic). If this were to ever happen would women not lose all of the advancements that have been made not only in the last Century but in the 13 Centuries that have passed since God talked to Muhammed? Do they not have more of a reason to fight than men do?

An interesting thing about that quote, many people today believe that on the abortion issue it is not right for men to tell women what to do with their bodies (I am not advocation pro-choice or life here) because they (men) cannot have babies. Sorry guys for the fifth post in a row. (It's like 6:30pm where I'm at, 4:30am on the East Coast). I've been on NG for the last 2 hours. We got a unexpected day off, and since all my stuff won't be here until tomorrow I don't have much else to do today!
Just got done watching The Owner. Pilz-e was funny, however Foamy just did not seem to live up to his usual funny stuff. I was a little disappointed in this episode. But with health problems, and pushing himself maybe Illwillpress needs to take a break to refresh himself.

What does this have to do with anything? We only had a mandate to get Saddam out of Kuwait, and then monitor and enforce the no-fly zones. When the time came to put steel on target we did, and we did decisively. Sorry that we are not moving INNOCENT Iraqi civilians into squalid concentration camps like Isreal does with Palestinians. Instead we are trying to establish a rule of law.

Actually skunk, day-to-day peacetime operations maybe. HOWEVER when it came to National Security issues Clinton would not even meet with some of his advisors (such as his first CIA Director). I agree, there are some Christian religions that have 22, 27 or 29 books in their respective Bibles. The Bible has also been translated and edited so many times that it may have many inaccuracies. We have also found many more books written by Christians in the 1st and 2nd Centuries that were suppressed by the Peterine view of Christianity. The simple fact H-Dawg is we actually scored a decisive victory in Somalia. We achieved our objectives, against insurmountable odds, with a relatively low loss to our side. The part of this action that is reprehinsible is that Clinton let the images do the talking without explaining to the American people how, that while there was losses we still achieved something great and did major damage to Adid. When the American people see such pictures we look to our President to inform us why. Instead Clinton made the lives of ALL US personel lost in Somalia forfeit and meaningless.
Instead Clinton chose to continue being the f*cking coward he has always been and yeilded to the POTENTIAL political fall-out.
Thus the political consequences:
1) Clinton strengthens Adid by releasing all of Adid's men we had in custody.
2) Clinton weakens the military because now people like bin-Ladin have said that this action proved that you can beat the Americans, even when they win, if you put up the right pictures.
3) Clinton pulls out of Somalia allowing the country to return to a state of brutal anachary.
Someone should make a movie about Clinton as Commander in Chief.
In conclusion, Blackhawk Down was a terrific example of US military courage. HOWEVER, our Commander in Cheif at the time was a terrific example of a shitty President and a spineless coward.
