Response to: 04/30: letter from Saddam Posted April 30th, 2003 in Politics

I have my bets on all of this stuff being fake. So much to gain by keeping alive the memory of Saddam and reporting stuff more imaginative than The National Enquirer. Have not heard anything about Saddam and gay sex rings, though.

Response to: 18 for Driver's License? Posted April 27th, 2003 in Politics

Oregon lawmakers have been trying to push a higher age limit on driving.

Currently, it is fifteen for the provisional class C license and sixteen for the real thing. But, for the next six months after you get the license, you cannot drive with anyone out of the immediate family in the car then for the six months after that, it is only three nonimediate family members at noncurfew hours.

Response to: Recording with a mic Posted April 21st, 2003 in Game Development

The closer you can get the microphone to the source you are recording, the more lifelike the sound will be. However, if you have the volume too loud, it will just sound like crap. So you will need to find a good balance between distance and volume to get optimal recording.

By the way, are you sure you just do not have a bad microphone? When I bought a Dell many years ago it came with a microphone and it always recorded horribly. The next time I bought a computer, I just bought parts and built it myself. The recording was still absolutely horrible, so I bought a nice seventy dollar microphone and it worked great.

Righto. I would say this has been one of the cleaner revolutions in history, I mean think of the Russian, Chinese, Cuban, and Iranian Revolutions. All of which were much more bloody than this situation in Iraq. I would also like to mention how unorthodox and unprecedented the rate at which this war was fought. This campaign moved so quickly it is staggering to realize how much was accomplished and how many casualties occured in the amount of time Operation: Iraqi Freedom has been in play.

If you go to The Final Task maker's website, he explains how he 'applied the study of animation' to make some very good - possibly the best? - animation there is. Things like this always look better when the FPS is up.

I do not see why people fuss about the government set up by the coalition. It must be done. If we just handed the country over to all the liberated citizens of Iraq, they would just have another person rise up to power again. This way, we can make sure that they get adjusted without some other dictator coming in. After all, it IS an interim government.

The Arabs do not want it given back, they want to fight for it back. They do not want "charity" from their enemies.

As far as I am concerned, Israel had sufficient reasoning for taking the West Bank and Gaza Strip. Their national security was threatened by repeated attacks and many many more suicide bombinbs, so what can you do? These terrorists were basing out of that area and you cannot just stand there and let them repeatedly kill innocent civilians. I see Israel's actions very just in taking those areas.

It is very possible he just makes each defining body part a seperate symbol and layer. That is how the guy who made The Final Task did it, and his looks so smooth it is crazy. Also, I imagine Xiao Xiao is around at the very least 40fps.
