Topic: Tale end of my cartoon glitching

Who knows. I sectioned off the cartoon into two different parts, and now it works fine. It's strange that it wouldn't play through when it was one whole cartoon, but now that it's two halves it works without a single problem. CS4 has been increasingly tempremental as of recently. Sometimes it works without any problems, other times it's impossible to even get it to start up without crashing. I thought it could be my computer, but I run other large programs on here without problems.

Man, so no one has ever had to deal with anything remotely similar?

Topic: Tale end of my cartoon glitching

I'm not really sure what I can do. I am almost finished with this animation, but everytime I test out the entire movie(When I play the individual scenes, they work without any problems), right before the end of the cartoon, it becomes really glitchy and doesn't play through. It's like it gets stuck on this one part, then the characters in that part start moving really fast and erractically.
There isn't any actionscript in the film, so there aren't any commands during this particular area. And it's this exact spot that it screws up in every single time. There is a lot of action at this time, but that's been the case during the entire cartoon. Also, the cartoon is roughly 11 minutes long(The FLA file is 170 MB and the SWF is 15 MB) at this point and I was wondering if that had something to do with it. There were also problems with the sound in the last couple of scenes being cut off before they were finished. Any ideas?

Topic: Is a digital drawing pad worth it?

I've read a bit about Wacom, as a few blogs and webpages about digital pads have recommend them. I may go with that one as it seems many artists seem to prefer it. You also mention ratio's. I am curious as to what size would be the best for a 17" screen. And yes, I definitly do better work with a pen than I do with a mouse. I thank you for taking the time to help a brotha out.

Topic: Is a digital drawing pad worth it?

I was considering purchasing a digital drawing pad to use within Adobe Flash CS4(And possibly other programs, as I am going to school to study computer animation) I was curious if a drawing pad is even a practical option for the Flash program.(I have used a standard wireless mouse up until this point for animating) If a digital drawing pad provides a substantial improvement over a mouse, what are the best brands out there? Also, is there a bit of a learning curve with this product, or is it as easy as it seems. I had one of the first ones ever made, but it was incredibly glitchy, and was impossible to use for Flash. I would really appreciate any help, as I was looking for ways to make the animating process faster and more efficient seeing as I work a full time job in addition to this animating thing.(Starting school in the fall as well so extra time to work on cartoons will be extremely limited)

I am looking for a sound clip of the transformation into a super saiyan. I just needed that power up sound effect, and I am having difficulty finding it without other voices or sound effects with it. I am not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I would really appreciate if anyone could help.

Topic: Flash to Youtube?

Posted: 04/19/09 08:04 AM

Forum: Flash

Well shit. I am not sure what to do now. I once again used the AVI and Quicktime options when exporting the video. I tried compressing and not compressing with the AVI and attempted to upload to Youtube. The animation was infinitly better, but entire segments of the animation(the mouths moving primarily and other key movements) were completely missing. I then tried to convert them to MP4's with no change to the video. Kind of stuck here, as the last time I loaded a SWF file to Youtube, it went on without a hitch.(Although the video quality wasn't quite as good.)

Topic: Flash to Youtube?

At the moment, I just do not know what to do. Every time I have tried to convert an swf file to something compatible with Youtube and similar websites, the results aren't pretty. Much of the actual animation is lost although the sound plays without fail. Here is an example of what I am speaking of.

I am not sure what I can do as the converters I am using don't seem able to properly convert SWF files to anything else. I have also tried converting them to Quicktime Movies and AVI's through Adobe CS4, but the results are what you just previously witnessed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So, still looking for some help on this one. I have everything set to stream, but the sound lags behind the animation. Is there a process I can use to remedy this?

Filters really take a toll on an animation's speed. Especially when you put a filter on a large object. How old is your computer? A newer/'faster' computer will have no problem running the animation without lag.

There's no way around it, unless you import the object you want a filter on into Photoshop or a similar program, then apply the filter there, then import that into Flash--although imported objects also take a toll on the speed, especially things like large bitmaps.

I do have a newer computer, so I am not sure why the slow down is as bad as it is. I think perhaps I was simply using too many filters for one scene. I am going to attempt to minimize my usage. Thanks for your help.

Sorry, but I'm trying to smooth out some problems here. I am playing around with filters, but when I test the movie or scene, the frame rate drops drastically when a filter is used. Is there any way around this problem?

I am not really sure how to approach this problem. Bare in mind I know very little about action script(I am currently learning) so the problem is this. After my cartoon has been playing for a minute or so, the voices and sound effects become increasingly unsynchronized.(The sound plays a half second or so after the animation) Not sure if there is something I can do with action script, or if switching the sounds to event or start will do anything to solve this problem. I had this problem with my last cartoon, and I am nearing the completion of my newest one, so I really would like to fix this. Any help is appreciated.
