Response to: If you oppose gay marriage, why? Posted February 14th, 2009 in Politics

I think that gay marriage should be completely legal. For one, America is supposed to be based upon a separation of church and state, therefore "Marriage is a holy union" shouldn't be seen legally as holy. Also consider that your religion's policy on gay marriage isn't necessarily the same as any other religion that exists in America, so realize that by basing your opinion on religion, you are forcing it on the rest of the population. Think about it.

Sprite control question Posted February 13th, 2009 in Game Development

I am attempting to make a retro top-down scrolling shmup but, as this is my first project in Flash and also my first experience with any sort of coding, I am lost. What I was wondering is:
How do I make it so that when I press left, it will both move the sprite to the left and also play the animation of the plane moving to the left. After that, how can I make it turn back to the original position when the button is released? And finally, I would like to know how I could make it so that if the sprite was flying left and someone decided to go right, the sprite would first turn to the original position before turning right.

If anyone could help me with my wall of text, I would be eternally grateful.
