I can see why a bunch of loosers would like to rely on their technical skills because of their lack of music writting skills... Chugging on 7 strings guitars and sweeping through 7 strings will most likely draw the attention away from your lack of inspiration and song structure.

Don't say shit about 7-strings, also I wish I could do 7-string sweeping. Practice, practice, practice. But I've got admit I like chug-note-chug-note melodeath style.

Obviously, but they're way too popular, like, they released 3 very bad albums that I don't like, so I don't like it, because the internuts metal community is all like they suck cuz' of those 3 albums, even though their latest album is pretty good, but then they're all like saying "Uh, Death Magnetic, they're making thrash again to sell more and try to get more thrash fans, we will totally not like it because we so cool!" That's fucking stupid but I've got to agree so I can has my respects in the internuts metal community, I so cool.

I just read a track by track explanation of their new album Digital Veil, it's amazing how much thought goes into each song.

I used to love them, but now I just like them. I'm out of the core scene now.

Great band is great.

They're so powerful, melancholic and intense with those Doom influences. Favourite band since last summer. When I went to see them in October I was almost crying seeing those guys playing their beautiful music. I really want to see them again.

He did the music world a favor.
I believe you were happy when Paul Gray died aswell. That's just so immature.

Bleach is a damn great album btw. I used to love Nirvana, there's been a while since I last heard one of their albums.

I meant Incesticide is a damn great album, Bleach is good too, but I prefer Incesticide.

Sorry for double post.

I like both clean and dirty guitar sound production, I just don't like it when I almost can't perceive the guitar chords and the drums sound like they just shot a machine gun and recorded it with a bad microphone. That's the reason why I hate a lot of black metal bands. The worse the sound production of your music, more trve and kvlt you are (AND GRIM!).

Favourite guitar tones on albums:

Agalloch - Pale Folklore
Alcest- Écailles de Lune
Amon Amarth - Fate of Norns
Annihilator - Alice in Hell
Baroness - Blue Record
Bison B.C. - Quiet Earth
Black Sun Aeon - Darkness Walks Beside Me
Bongripper - Satan Worshipping Doom
Bongzilla - Gateway
Children of Bodom - Something Wild
Children of Bodom - Follow the Reaper
Cult of Lune - Eternal Kingdom
Enochian Crescent - Nef.Vi.Lim
Eyehategod - Confederacy of Ruined Lives
High on Fire - Snakes for the Divine
Insomnium - Above the Weeping World
Insomnium - Across the Dark
Anything by Mastodon
Megadeth - Rust in Peace
Metallica - Ride the Lightning
Meshuggah - Chaosphere
Moonspell - Wolfheart
Moonspell - Under Satanae
My Dying Bride - The Angel and the Dark Rive
Opeth - Watershed
Space Bong - The Death of Utopia
The Sword - Age of Winters

Isn't that the new-core genre? Like... palm-muted chug-chug fest, but with more strings?

Agalloch - Falling Snow

Apparently, stuff like Meshuggah and Periphery. And it's not chug-chug, it's djent-djent, lol. You may want to hit me with stones, but I actually like it. It'a groovy and interesting. In my opinion it sounds a lot like mathcore.

Just tell him that deathcore rips off Cannibal Corpse all the time. Suffocation too. Doesn't mean they're death metal.

I want real musical differences. Like guitar playing style why is it different than in metal, also drumming, vocals, whatever.

One guy showed me a song from Sick of it All, an Hardcore Punk band, Cannibal Corpse and Job For A Cowboy, and I can't say they're now a Death Metal band because the song he showed me is from the first album. He then told me to compare the songs, and say with which band does JFAC sounds more like. And, in fact, even with the core sound, they sound much more like Cannibal Corpse, and I'm not concerned with Cannibal Corpse's quality, they're a Death Metal band, that's what I'm concerned with.

Well, when deathcore bandss aren't ripping each other off, they're usually ripping off Cannibal Corpse
Don't matter, Cannibal Corpse suck major balls these days. In my opinion they were beter with Chris Barnes.

I knew this is going to happen, I don't care about Cannibal Corpse quality, I care about a deathcore JFAC song that sounds more like Death Metal than Hardcore Punk. Because that makes me able to say that deathcore is Death Metal + Hardcore and not Hardcore with death metal influences such as distortion and drumming.
