I agree that Nattens Madrigal is awesome, and so is Bergtatt, but I think their best stuff is from their non-metal albums like Blood Inside, Perdition City, Lykanthropen Themes, Svidd Neger, and a Quick Fix of Melancholy. I listen to some of their stuff when I go to sleep, too, and it affects my dreams, sometimes. Theme 7 is a bit emotionally overwhelming for me sometimes, but I love it. I'm pretty emotionally receptive to music. Music can fuck up my mood. Theme 7 is one of a few songs that make my breathing heavier and give me this feeling in my chest. like a sinking feeling, I guess. My Prayer Beyond Ginnungagap by Blut Aus Nord is another example of a song that does that to me, especially ever since I had a dream about my grandfather's funeral, and I was just staring at him in his casket while the song was somehow playing out of nowhere. The room looked just like the actual room where his casket was before he was buried. I woke up with a tear in my eye and the song was still on.

I've never heard their non-metal stuff but I will surely do. Emotional music is the best thing mankind created.

And sorry for your loss.

The bands that have the strongest emotional effect on me are Alcest and Insomnium. When I saw Insomnium last year I was almost crying.

Damn I'm getting into Ulver and I'm wondering why I've never got into them before, Nattens Madrigal is fucking beautiful.

What do you guys think about Catamenia? I just started listening to them again and I rediscovered I love them, melodic and intense stuff.

Yeah, that's bullshit. That became a common misconception because of the church burnings. People thought they were worshiping Satan, but if you actually bothered to listen to these people, it was because they were fed up with how lost their culture was thanks to Christianity. If you're going around saying that most black metal is satanic, you might as well go around saying most of it is racist National Socialist propaganda. In fact, I'm pretty well convinced that most so called "satanist black metal bands" are just using that as an image and don't believe in it one bit.

Read about LaVeyan Satanism.

There's no other band on earth that brings out the feeling in me than Dark Funeral.
I love first wave black metal... Bathory, Celtic Frost and Hellhammer. (And arguably the first two kreator albums, if you consider that 1st wave black metal.)

I also LOVE Rotting Christ.

But for the most part I only truly like depressive black metal. Silencer, Shining, Svarti Loghin, etc.

Also post-black metal like Alcest, Les Discrets, Dopamine, etc. is amazing.

If only you didn't like Bathory our taste in Black Metal would be just the same.

Also, if you like Rotting Christ check out Moonspell.

Ok, so we will call bands who use tremolo picking "Talalalalalalalal" and that will be a genre name. Why not? Cause it's stupid. Djent is basically just the sound of a palm-muted chord played by one of the bands you classify as "Djent". It doesn't describe any kind of musical genre and any band using that kind of palm-mute could be named Djent no matter if they were a Nu-Metal band, a Progressive Metal band or a Power Metal band. How does that make any sense to you?

But Djent bands, me accepting the existence of such genre, have a common type of sound that makes them fit in one genre, and it's not progressive metal, it's not metalcore... the only genre that, in my opinion, sounds more or less like Djent bands do is mathcore, but they're still not mathcore.
I accept Djent as a new genre. But I know it's useless to discuss about it, I can say everything I want to defend that Djent is a genre of music, but you will just respond with your arguments and be even more convicted that Djent is not a genre of music. So, let's just stop now, you don't accept Djent as genre of music but I do, just don't kill me.

What's that? You think djent is the GENRE? Lol you silly boy, as of 2011 djent is STILL just an onomatopoeia.
I have to approove here. I can't see Djent as a musical genre, since it's basically just a new form of Technical and Progressive Metal with chugging riffs that sound like... "Djent". You can't name a new genre based only on how the musicians of that so called new genre play their palm-mutes...

Why not? I could just say: "Hey you can't name it Metal just because it's heavy and thick resembling metal!" In my opinion just because Djent is an onomatopoeia it doesn't mean it can't be a musical genre.

And I've also finally drank Mead! I feel fulfilled.

A bass player started complaining with the other members of the band because, in his opinion, he wasn't receiving a fair amount of money compared to them. So they said: "Yeah, we agree, but we don't want you to starve to death..."

Not always possible, especially if you go down into the next octave below A. Not without having strings as floppy as a donkeys ballsack anyway.
