Response to: Did you get snow for Christmas? Posted 2 days ago in General

Utah has a knack for having the exact opposite weather it should be having at that time, but luckily it decided that we'd finally get snow a few days before Christmas. And then a day later it decided to make up for the lack of snow and bury everyone under it. My dad had to use a boogie board to shovel the snow until we could borrow the neighbors' shovel because we mysteriously lost our own.

I blame the Mormons.

He didn't go to the hospital straight away, and so people began shitting their pants when he stopped replying to people's questions in the chat. He ended up moving in with a friend of his the next day or two afterwards, and wouldn't have any access to Skype for a bit, so he told @Urban-Champion to tell everyone else in the chat that he had died of liver failure.

I don't know if that page is still up, but if it is it should be taken down, because Lunar is most definitely still alive and kicking, so to speak.

Response to: Why did you choose your username? Posted 2 weeks ago in General

A long time ago, I had another account on here called ChrisII(Pronounced "Chris the Second"). After a while, I realized that the name kind of sucked, and I had plans of making a Youtube channel where I would do Let's Plays of mostly horror games. I actually spent a few days coming up with name ideas when I thought of TheVideoGameHermit, or something like that. That in turn led me to the idea of TheComputerHermit. I browsed through the internet- ESPECIALLY Youtube- to make sure that no one else had taken the name. Ever since then, I've been using the username for almost everything. I think the username is at least half decent compared to other ones I've seen, so I don't regret spending more time than I probably should've thinking of a username that doesn't suck ass XD.

Response to: Voice Acting Peeves! Posted 2 weeks ago in Voice Acting

I remember when I first started Voice Acting, there was this project that was actually going to pay out once it was developed, and I was in the running for one of the voices that would be used. After a while, the Dropbox folder that all of that projects stuff was in stopped being updated. I PMed them, and even created a text file in the Dropbox asking what was going on. It took like at least another week before I got any kind of response. As I had expected, the project had been dropped without them telling anybody. FUCKING CUNTS.

Typing up this rage inducing memory reminds me that I need to actually get back into Voice Acting again. It's been a long time since I've done anything XD.

Thanks for the reminder @Piper!

Oh, the worries and struggles of Voice Actors are so very real.

Response to: Audio Secret Santa 2015 Posted 1 month ago in Audio

I'd love to participate.

I'm really ok with anything, to be honest, whether it's music to rock out to, EDM, etc. I don't really LISTEN to all kinds of music, but I'm not going to go and look a gift horse in the mouth, so to speak, and I don't mind my Secret Santa stretching their musical muscles, so really, anything is absolutely fine. But if my Secret Santa would like some type of guideline to follow, I really enjoy music from the 60's to early 80's, so we're talking Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Led Zeppelin, and other bands with that similar old rock sound. In terms of bands from late 90's and up, I really like Muse, the Strokes, Gorillaz, basically any main or side project of Jack White's, and in terms of more recent bands, I really am liking Julian Casablancas + the Voidz.

If nothing else, hopefully I've given my Secret Santa some music they've never heard of before to listen to. Thank you in advance for your amazing awaited gift!

That was very brave of you to out right say you are vegan. The general response to vegans from others in the forums is usually quite nasty, so I've refrained from using that word directly. Thank you for your post, it was very well thought out and you can tell it came from the heart. Many will read it and might feel offended to some to degree or take it personally for whatever reason, but it is my hope that you will remain respectful and courteous in the face of any backlash that comes your way. Neither you nor I hold any contempt or anger towards anyone here, but it is very likely that others will be upset to an extent.

There is no way to convince nor sway anyone to see the world differently in one sitting or conversation. Especially online or in a forum, especially on Newgrounds. Most of us here are very unique and strong willed. All you can do is just wave your hand and say "I'm here. This is how I feel and here's why." After that whether or not anyone is interested in learning more is up to them. So I would strongly encourage you to keep all this in mind. <3

Thank you for sharing your views on this subject.

Damn, that was probably the nicest thing I think I've seen anyone say to anyone on a Newgrounds forum. Thank you for your EXTREMELY kind and supportive words. I've already dealt with people being really close minded about it in both real life and the internet, so I'm used to it :D. Thank you again Piper.

Being a Vegan(Alright, here we go.), I think to just have these animals in captivity for their entire life in some VERY small area compared to the amount of free space they should have based on their size is really fucked up. Yet, if something happens to a fellow human being, people freak out, as they rightfully should. Why? I personally think that this happens because of two reasons(That I can currently think of.):

1. We as a species STILL haven't gotten past this idea that we only look out for our own kind, and couldn't give less than a shit about the other species of animals if they don't benefit us. This is(Again, in my opinion) an idea based off of survival instinct that we really don't need anymore, and can completely look past, yet many people still think with this mindset anyways.

2. People don't care simply because stuff like this has existed in our culture worldwide for a very long time. Much like the concept of zombies, using other animals for our own benefit is just something that we've grown accustomed to over time, no matter how grotesque or fucked up it is in reality. Its not scary anymore because we've been doing it for so long.

Now, can we change our mindset to a more positive and compassionate one? Yes, we most definitely can.

However, that being said, will we? Unfortunately, in this day and age, although the amount of Vegans and animal rights activists has been steadily growing each year, I don't actually know if a concept like this will be possible for a while, unless people are willing to look past the fact that using other animals for our benefit has been a part of our culture for so long, see it for what it really is, and change their mindsets in an instant, I don't see this happening any time soon. This is all based on what I have seen of how people interact with what is considered to be animal cruelty and what isn't(Including this very forum.), which unfortunately has been a very consistent answer resounding from almost everywhere and everyone that I know of.

We as a species can change.

Its just a matter of whether or not we're actually willing to.

Now I summon @Piper to come back me up.

Eminem introduced many people to rap and hip hop that otherwise might not have gravitated toward the genre. Also, as one of the most influential musical artists of the 2000s he had a great influence on many other artists popular today, including: 50 Cent, Usher, Tyler the Creator. Their sound and the sound of many other artists would be very different without his influence and thus, so would the whole music scene. Also, he really opened the floodgates for different races to think that they could become successful rappers as well, so rap and hip hop would look a little less multicultural without him.

What if we had discovered massive precious metal resource deposits on the moon back in the 70's?

The world would probably erupt into a war over who gets to mine the moon, what section they'd get to mine, and just getting the minerals in general. The Cold War tensed everyone up really badly, so I don't think it would've been hard for such a thing to occur and trigger something like World War 3.

I would love to go to a Newgrounds meetup at some point, but, alas, I live in Utah, and there are very few users that live in the states around mine, other than like California. Plus it's hard to get them together because people have busy lives to live, like having to work, amd some have families to feed as well. Others you just can't really get off of their asses to do anything. But if there ever was a Newgrounds meetup in one of the states surrounding Utah, then I'd definitely try my best to get to it. Haha. :D.

It seems the majority of people are posting the same answers, so let's switch up the question.
What is the worst thing that you have gotten in your clothing?

I remember years ago, me and a friend were being dumb and trying to knock down a hornets' nest outside of my house. The hornets all came out at once and somehow ended up inside my friends shirt. He continued running, screaming, jumping, and swatting at himself until I couldn't see him anymore. Funnily enough, I don't have many memories of us hanging out past that event.

About a year ago, give or take a few months, there was a user here that I became close with, and we messaged each other a lot. Not too soon after we started talking, she eventually began to ask me questions about things like masturbation, and what "things" we would do if we ever met up. Keep in mind that I was around 14 or 15 at the time, and that this chick is like 2 or 3 years older than I am, so needless to say, I began to get a little weirded out by her and her SUPER early sexual advances, and stopped talking to her as much. Come to think of it , ever since the Featureless Chat got shut down, I haven't seen her very active at all on the site.

Response to: November Questionnaire 2014 Posted November 8th, 2014 in General

1.) What's your favorite part about the entire month of November?
I enjoy the cool weather before it gets really freaking cold in December.
2.) Do you like Pumpkin Pie?
If it's Vegan, yes. If not, no.
3.) Is raking leaves hard or easy for you?
Raking leaves is easy for me. The only reason why it'd be hard is because I'm lazy and would resist doing it in the first place.
4.) Have you ever built your own scarecrow?
No, no I have not. And I never plan to. Those things are fucking scary D:.
5.) Have you ever gone on a haystack ride?
Yes.
6.) How are you with November weather and are you okay with it?
As my answer to question 1 stated, I like the cool weather before it gets really cold in December.
7.) Give me your honest opinion on the pilgrims that came from the Mayflower.
Well, I don't think they were as good of people as everyone is taught as little kids in elementary school. If my knowledge of their history is correct, they weren't all that kind to the Native-Americans. In fact, I believe they even tried raiding the Native-Americans at one point, but don't take my word for it. I may be thinking of another event involving people that sailed in from Europe and the Native-Americans.
8.) Do you watch football during Thanksgiving?
I used to LOVE watching and playing football. I still watch it, whether it's Thanksgiving or not, but not nearly as much as I used to.
9.) What's your favorite food to eat during Thanksgiving meal?
Anything that's Vegan.
10.) At Thanksgiving, have you ever found the wishbone in a turkey in order to make a wish?
Back before I went Vegan, I used to follow that kind of tradition. Now I just glare at people from the shadows as they do it. I've never found the wishbone during Thanksgiving, but I have during Christmas.
Bonus Question: Ask me a question that I can include in the December Questionnaire. (your name will be included as credit)
Which do you enjoy doing with your family the most during Christmas- Eating dinner and talking, or receiving and giving presents?

Response to: How did you get your username? Posted November 4th, 2014 in General

JonBro, now Jonochrome is the reason why I'm here. I first discovered his Riddle School games on Andkon Arcade, which, eventually led me to Newgrounds. After years of randomly stumbling onto the site from time to time, I decided that I would join the website and start submitting flashes of my own(Which I never ended up doing). I first joined with the account named ChrisII, which I thought was a cool way of saying Chris the Second. I think the name itself is fairly self-explanatory. After about a year, I decided that I wanted to start making computer game walkthroughs and upload them to Youtube, so after a few days of brain storming, I came up with TheComputerHermit. The name was, and still is meant to be something satirical with a nice ring to it, but unfortunately it is also a representation of myself in real life. I love me some internet. Instead of just using the username for Youtube, I decided that it would replace musefan333 as my main username for the websites that I am a frequent user of.
Damn, that was a lot of text nobody read.

Response to: should i go vegan? Posted November 1st, 2014 in General

I myself am a Vegan, and plan on being one for the rest of my life. The mistake that a lot of people make is that they assume that just eating vegetables and fruit is enough. You need protein, which, fortunately, can be provided in ways other than eating meat. I like to make refried or black beans and just kinda snack off that for the week to help fulfill that part of what I need to function. Something you will have to get used to is that you will have to be cooking for yourself a lot, because vegan products can be fucking expensive, so get used to the idea of cooking stuff from scratch. Ever since I've started being Vegan, I've felt healthier overall, and a lot lighter after eating a meal. I'm not sick and dying, nor am I losing tons of weight because I'm not eating meat or other animal products anymore. The first few weeks are hard, because your body has to get used to the idea of not eating anything you want anymore, and finding foods you can eat takes a bit. You might crave eating animal products again, but you must remember the reasons that you became Vegan in the first place, and push past it, Once you get past that point, you'll be fine, and eventually will generally speaking stop craving animal products much at all. Good luck in your Vegan endeavors, and if you have any questions, there's more than just one other Vegan out there, so don't be afraid to go asking around for advice and recipes.

Response to: Books you're currently reading... Posted October 20th, 2014 in General

Back when I was in elementary school, I substituted books for friends, which turned out AWESOMELY(Obviously), so ever since then, I almost never read anymore, which is quite sad. I am, however, currently reading a book called the Synchronicity Key, by David Wilcock. It's a very interesting take on how connected everything in the universe really is. Being a huge lover of conspiracy theories and how they come up with all of this evidence to help support their claim, whether or not I believe in what the book tells me isn't as much of an importance as it is reading what the guy has to say. Quite a compelling story actually. I recommended it for anyone looking to read a very different nonfiction book.
