From what I understood of it, he has some kind of top-down RPG, and he starts at a point of some sort. When he goes into a house and gets out of it, it returns him to the place where he first started.

I did a little experimenting, and this worked like a charm.

I have a good sense of pointing small errors out(such as small texture problems, glitchy areas etc.)
If it's a game with unique context, I can figure out some glitches in the engine.

You can't. Flash is a vector program, meaning that anything sprites needs to be imported.
