I think I love Tim's the best, it's just an energetic, feel-good romp around virtual Newgrounds. Well-drawn and -animated! Loved the unique style :D If me and Julian have to lose, I hope it's to Tim <3 :D

Nogfish's is also up there, being satisfying for its "What did I just watch?!" value.

Yesterday was Queen's Day in Holland, or something. Which is too bad, because Pico Day kept me from animating the homo-erotic thriller I originally intended to do for that day. Hurray Holland!

This is an actionscript question, so your best bet is to ask in the programming board. Might have an easier time finding someone who can help.

My entry was just a set of cop-out character portraits :D I really don't have many characters to speak of, so it was easy to fit them into a tiny panel.

Sounds like you were ready for a reason to quit :( Just listen to Luis and don't do it for the prize - simply submitting a Pico entry on the 30th is gonna get your cartoon attention by default. And it would be nice if more topic contributors such as yourself ended up submitting content than 'outsiders'. That's how I see it, anyway.

And Mas is right, a week is a hell of a lot of time. I plan to spend this next week animating most of Blockhead 9. You've got your FLA content back - what will you spend it on?

I hope your cartoon is as good as your screenies make it out to be, because you have a lot to live up to with those :D That last screen shot kinda gives me a Pulp Fiction/James Bond vibe, haha

Woo, Toonimated and I are done! Length is 3:40, and it's the most FBF-thick project I think I have ever been a part of. But waiting to submit it until the 30th may be the hardest part yet :(

Will I ever do something like this again? I dunno...ask me next year :D

China technically "won" against Japan in WWII because of its Western alliances and the defeat of the Axis, but suffered significantly as a result of the Japanese invasion. Like, horrendously suffered. So it's not clear what you mean.

Haha, Toonimated was worried because I wanted to write my own music instead of using Audio Portal tracks. Said it would ruin our chances because "that's what Tom wants" :D

It's easier for Tom to put them together when they're submitted on that day.

I noticed that there are already maybe two submissions in the collection, but I wonder if they're also technically disqualified? I must ask the Tom about this.

Response to: Pico Day 2007 Posted April 19th, 2007 in Game Development

Our short little Pico project became very, very long. Ugh, thank God we actually finished animating the thing. I didn't want to wait until Pico Day itself to submit it. I'd like to think it's a nice little cartoon of its own merit :D

Come to think of it, how come there haven't been any serious entries submitted so far? Or, if they have been, then added to the collection? Is EVERYONE waiting for April 30th?

"Stuff" sounds plural. This is my first non-Blockhead submission, which took all of 3 hours to do, so don't be amazed by my lack of emotional investment in it. But your gross generalization is kind of adorable. :)

I don't remember using the word "unoriginal".

I didnt like it, I found it to be unnecessarily racist. When making something like that you have to have a just reason in doing so. You had none.

It was absolutely necessary. Racism in a satire usually indicates that you are, in fact, making fun of racism. But nice effort, though! At least you're pretending like you paid attention.

RAB won because it...
1) maintained its reputation as an offbeat comedy
2) contained only original content
3) has a steady fanbase

Spies was a close secon because it...
1) contained original and inspired artwork, effects, and animated cinematography
2) told a clever and gripping story
3) unfortunately contained only copywritten audio
4) unfortunately based itself around Coldplay, a group whose popularity has alread inspired a number of music videos here on Newgrounds, reducing its topic originality a bit.

The way I see it, RAB with the sound on was better than Spies with the sound off. But I really enjoyed Spies, and I honestly hope to see some awesome stuff from wittyhobos in the future.

P.S. - Shameless self promotion. Who noticed that I sneaked a cartoon in there? :D

Money is a tool, so if you're not spending it out of principle, then make sure it's because that's what you want...and NOT because that's not what James Farr wants. Not spending out of spite only hurts our economy. Hasn't Captain Capitalism taught you a thing?

In America, left-wing people who purportedly don't love their country are typically labeled as "hippies".

In Australia, they are labeled as "you". Way to ruin your country, patriot. Are you even old enough to fight in your armed services? Let alone vote? Let alone drive? This topic is not for you.

Freely search the forums for a topic relating to the keyword "pampers", scumbag child.

Your computer may be lagging in the playback while others are not. Obviously this doesn't help in testing, but it may not be something you can avoid. Flash takes a lot of shortcuts, which is why it's both so convenient and such a pain to work with. Instead of saying "oh, yes, try this with your movie", I would suggest closing applications on your computer so that only Flash is running.

And yes, AIM drains massive resources, so close it.
