right, because prison inmates don't struggle or suffer in prison at all. Good point.

Lifers also can escape. Jailbreaks can give a murderer or rapist a second chance at freedom. Death is the only way to keep bad people like that off our streets.

How many lifers have escaped in the past ten years? Now how many death-row inmates in Illinois were found innocent just prior to being executed?

And no, unlike many other posts, this is NOT a satire.

could've fooled me.

What is there to discuss? The Bible says nothing about it and nothing about the subject can be proved either way. No offense, but this discussion is a waste of time.

Except in a Catch-22, you have only two options. In 2008, you had about a dozen different options to vote for.

If you're going to seriously count third party candidates as options, you may as well say there are an INFINITE number of options. Writing in "Bill Belichick" on your ballot has just as much, if not more, of an impact on American politics as voting for Nader or Bob Barr.

Great public speaker or not, Democrat or Republic does NOT equal change. It equals politics as usual.

Why the hell would you vote Nader? You wouldn't even be making a point. Hell, you really were hoping to make a difference and not vote for Obama, you should've voted for McCain, hoping on the offchance that he'd die in office, giving Palin a chance to blow up the world and let a Green Party rise from the ashes and bring peace to the non-mutant infested zones in Neo-America.

small towns have been self-sufficient since the Neolithic Period. In fact, thanks to the wonders of agriculture, small towns can produce surpluses of what they need!

Finally no, it's not that because that would involve a monarchy or some other kind of unchallengeable ruling class.

Just wait til I lead my town over to kick your town's ass and declare myself Baron.

This is an interesting question. What do the Americans and British think about allying with the Soviet Union (who were, in due time, far more destructive than Nazi Germany)?

They weren't more destructive "in due time." The Great Purge ended before World War II began. The Russians were never exactly "nice" but they had significantly calmed down by the time we allied with them. In addition, western leaders were relatively ignorant of just how far Stalin had gone until later. Hitler managed to kill nearly as many people in a few short years as the Stalin did during his entire reign. If he had won the war, which he likely could have done if he hadn't declared War on Russia, the consequences would have been horrifying.

As fun as it is to imagine, I don't think it will ever happen. Even though relaxed recruiting standards have let some radicals(neo-nazis, klansmen and such) into the military, I can't imagine even a fraction of the US military taking part in a coup against the President. Secondly, there's no way in hell that the tea-party crowd will ever revolt. If they don't want to pay more taxes, I can guarantee that they don't want to risk being imprisoned or dying in a war they can't possibly win.
