Spiderman looks like walking with a fork up his ass. Sandmans face? 5 times larger then Spidey's face! Sand should be clearly split apart from air, and the sun is just a yellow spot. Make it WHITE in the middle and make it yellow-ish on the edges. Even different layers could be used for doing that!

How do you make the alternative "hit" frame go to the 10th frame of the scene when you push it?

Yups: Make the pic MUCH bigger, edit it, make it the size of the original pic again, and tadzaam: a detailed pic. You could for example give textures to her robe and wings. Also the hairs should be more liny...

Put the current contents of 'UP' into a new Movie Clip, then just put the animation within it. SImple.

I MADE a fading-out animation, but it fades out when the button appears. THAT'S my problem.
