OP didn't colour it, it was someone else.

I dunno... I need an account apparently. I would help, but I don't like scattering accounts everywhere.

It's okay, but perhaps make it slightly more robot and less like a wooden gollem. Cogs, gears, a metal plate somewhere or wiring would help.

You need some more correct and darker shading. Shading never works in jagged lines, but always in smooth shapes. You can find explanation on this right about everywhere. Smoothen the outlines (as mentioned above) and perhaps put some detail in the feet. Right now they're body-painted. He's obviously wearing shoes, so you might wanna actually draw them.

I also noticed he doesn't seem to have shoulders or armpits. Maybe it's to make it look more chubby, but you might want to look into that if you missed it.

Looking good tho :)

I don't like pin-pointing a specific date, but Robot Day is July 10th. We need it done before that.

Don't take the above comments as insults, they're honest critique but in a bit of a rude manner.

Bad Flowers. Bad.

The thing is, people tend to use collages under the impression they made something new and interesting. This is rarely the case, and especially when not done manually. You can slap together random pictures and call it art, but this isn't how it works. This is horrible, this is a good collage. I think you can see the difference here. Using Photoshop filters or overlays to "enhance" your work is rarely fine, and especially not if it's the main focus of the picture.

First of all, think of WHY you want to make a collage. Is there a perfectly good reason for it? What will the topic be? Secondly, you need to make stuff or pictures yourself, manually. They can be DRAWN in Photoshop, but only as pieces of art theirselves. Finally, think very well about different aspects, such as colour, composition,... in short, all the things you learn when actually drawing or painting. I suggest you start with these first, instead of jumping to copying and pasting photos in a 10 minute job.

do you have any hookers and booze in your apartment?

Uhu. The guy downstairs is also crazy, he spent some time in an institute. It did him not much good. He's off his medication and he starts screaming "Virgin Mary, you fucking alien!" According to him Jesus Christ smokes crack and other sundry things but it's the man upstairs who pulls the strings, won't let me sleep.

Aigis and bigjohnny, you're both nitwits.

poester, do you happen to have anything other than scribbles like actual fleshed out drawings, not on lined paper? It's a bit difficult to critique quick sketches.

Hey Icedragon, I remember you!

Well, calling out the most notable users wouldn't be such a hot idea. There's quite some users, all with terrific drawings/paintings/... and it would be a shame to spotlight some and miss others out. We could of course just mention the mods that have passed. Otherwise, if we really want users, we could look at the amount of FP's they've gotten and base notability on that.

Scouting system and Art101 could of course do with some exposure. Art101 basically is our wiki in the first place. It would be fun having some of the memorable Art Forum Threads in there, albeit a bit pointless perhaps. Chadd-Syphrett and Garden Wall Art come to mind.

Technically, it's a sketch. In this case, lines paper may even help him (respecting the proportions for example). However, OP, don't just post a sketch and expect much detailed critique. Please show actual finished pieces instead or multiple sketches.
