J_qb's advice + Give up your subscription to WoW, have your art supplies not locked up in a closet but loosely all around you and find a buddy who paints/sculpts/whatevers too and talk about it with him/her.

Who gives a crap if they're weirdlooking. That's what fun designs should be. It shows balls when you're showing something original. We can't really critique a design from someone else and give you advice for it.

Kostou, your drawings are out of place here in that regard. Maybe they were meant as a small joke, but it seemed more dickish than you probably intended.

Morthagg's advice on the other hand is kickass, although I do think the legs seem rather short, as the thigh and shin don't seem to match in height.

I would love to see you make original stuff. You clearly have some talent in you, but fanart tends to hold creativity back a notch and we will also be able to see and critique you tackling proportions, style,... Now all we can really see is technique, which I actually find very promising.
The pencil drawings have a LOT of personality to them and although you may dislike the greyness of your scanned paper, it sort of adds to a fuzzy-feeling whole.

Let's say you are hired by Tom Fulp to entirely redesign Newgrounds. You can ignore things like ads or anything
that sorta bothers you. You're entirely free to make Newgrounds your baby. How would you do it?

I would like to emphasize that his isn't a thread meant as critique on Newgrounds, nor is it to sheerly critique each others ideas. Most of us are in no way professional webdesigners, myself included, but as a collective of artists, we should have some clever ideas that could perhaps even help build upon the site you are on now. The more suggestions we drop, the more interesting solutions may present themselves.

SIZE
Let's start with making Newgrounds a BIT wider. Enough people have bigger monitors nowadays and it's sort of a relic of the past. Doesn't need to be giant, but I feel as if we could get rid of the 'long payment bill'-format.

SEARCH
Put Author in the search choices. I know I can type an author in URL. I hate doing it. A searchbar can link me straight to it, as it is a searchbar. Personal gripe.

SUBMIT BUTTON
A submit button in the spotlight. Newgrounds is all about its users and their submissions so I think that submitting could also be more attractive. I know it's featured in nearly every submenu and it may seem silly but I still feel it is somewhat hidden from public eye.

FLEXIBILITY
This is a rather radical idea, but the choice of what the user finds important is a great factor on any site. I would love for the various windows to be moved openly but snap gridwise onto other windows like a Newgrounds puzzle. Having the ability to freely drag and change the size of your windows could give NG an openess which it doesn't really have at this moment.

I would also be a supporter of having the ability to scroll for some windows (especially Favourites). It allows for a better overview on new submissions, which I can imagine does get a bit annoying if you have favourited hundreds of artists, animators or musicians.

Now that I have made myself the mortal enemy of every programmer in the NG office, what are your thoughts or ideas. Again, I am not claiming these ideas are anything great. You may see them as insanely radical (which they are) or maybe lacking that Newgrounds-charm. Perhaps you find them a stroke of genius...

If you have thoughts or own ideas/mockups, do post! This thread is not just for me. I want to see how this goes and how farfetched people will go with their visions
