interesting. but did you know that meat contains protien? a valuable thing that the body NEEDS to survive. and did you also know that the #1 source to get this thing lies within that thing you detest so much...dare i say it...MEAT! as much as i can understand where you are coming from, and as much as i respect your viewpoint, i will stand where i do with many others, and continue to eat meat. i personally love it and can't get enough. but i promise to eat more veggies too.

Do not worry too much. I am quite sure that you will come home safe and sound. Don't ever let anyone make you rethink why you joined up. You are going to do something they could never understand.

Many thanks for your support, and my resolve is strong, and my reasons why i joined won't change. We're going to be on convoy escorts, so we'll be mostly looking for roadside ied's. my mos? 92G. in april going to a school for 11B. not that i had a real choice in this though. :P i just hope the army lives up to it's past and is "subject to change" for deployment, lol.

Well, you'll die on the behalf of your stupid country ^^

if i do shoot anyone, i hope it'll be you. thanks for your support. let's try putting this in possibly your perspective, what if you had a best friend in the world that needed something that only you could get in order to continue living, problem is, the thing you needed to get was somewhere where you could get killed yourself. would you;
A; try to get the thing, or
B; tell your friend he s fucked and that you don't care, and then when you die you go to hell for your insensetivity.

You should've realised this risk when you joined.

When i signed up, i thought i understood the risks involved and i knew that i could go somewhere and get killed, but then our luietenant told us all that we'd be going over , that this was the real shit and some of us could die. after that, reality hit me pretty hard. when i signed i knew i could go, now, i know i AM going. I have no regrets about it, and i'm not going to look back and wish i didn't sign. i'd do it all over again if given the option.

in answer to Orange's question, i signed up because me being the young fool i was, i figured that since many of my friends were joining, that it would be cool to do since i'd be right there by my friends' side whenever shit happened.

also, for those who are anti-military and are gonna use this thread for nothing more than trash talk on the military, keep in mind thread wasn't asking what you thought of the military, it was asking how you'd feel if...well you know the rest.

I take it you are already there? My prayers are with you, until i get over there myself. then, they'll be with me, because I'll be paying too much attention to not dying to pray for anyone else. but seriously though, whereabouts are you? And perhaps I should rephrase the question to something along the lines of "how would you feel if you knew that in the near future you would be taken to a place that you have a high risk of dying, being shot at, blown up, or otherwise maimed?"

If you were informed that you were soon to be on your way overseas into territory where you could die, namely Iraq. Having experienced the feeling of reality slamming into myself with the realization that i really could die, the feeling is that of a high level of anxiety, and fear as well. I have spoken with a number of friends in the army with me, and we all agree we'd have to be nuts not to be scared. But again, I ask, how would you feel, if you knew that soon you were going to a place that you may very well never return from?

BTW, my time till I leave: Approx 2 weeks

kids cheating and stealing Posted October 14th, 2006 in Politics

this latest generation of teens is making me sad...watching the news today, I see that surveys are being done to see how kids feel they need to get ahead and what they feel they can do.
68% admit to haveing cheated on at least 1 test in the last year.
42% admit to lieing to get ahead on at leats one test within the last year.
20% admit to stealing to get what they need, at least once within the last year.
Although these numbers may not be correct, as 36% admit to having lied on at least one question in the very same survey!

there was one name, where the full name went like this; the first name started with A then the second name started with B then the third name started with C, and so on and so on all the way to Z. reason? because the parents didn't want any letter of the alphabet to "feel" left out. anyway my source is a "ripley's believe it or not" book. i don't remember which year.

Response to: North Korea Detonates Atomic Bomb Posted October 8th, 2006 in Politics

it might be. i dunno. but i do know that being in the army, means i could get deployed out there. now i knew, when i signed up that there'd be a chance that i could go somewhere and die. but the thing is, i'd really REALLY rather NOT die...still so much more sex to have before i do.

Response to: 2006/1776 similar? Posted October 8th, 2006 in Politics

Well it's not that Bush is a bad president, so much as he sucks at talking in public and sounds like a retard when he does. But to be quite honest, it isn't the president that makes the decisions about what happens in the country. It's congress. The president, although the most powerful man in the country, is still only one man. and any laws that get made get voted on by congress.

The pres. only has like two or three real jobs;

1. veto a bill--in which case congress can still override that by voting on a 2/3 vote. so the president really doesn't have a say in whether a bill gets passed or not, so basically it's like this. Pres- "i don't like this. i say no" congress- "well we do, and there's more of us so nyeh!" and it gets passed anyway.

2. scapegoat-- the people of the US are, for the most part ignorant of how things work in politics and the government. so because they don't know, when things get stupid, guess who get's blamed. you got it, the president.

3. ambassador--talking to the other countries's presidents and/or rulers to do stuff.

that's about it. granted there's tons of paperwork and such, the president's job is not very big, though very hard and stressfull, there's not a whole lot to it. i don't mean there isn't much to do, it's just that overall, there aren't many jobs accociated with bieng president other than taking the big dick of congress up the butt, and feeling the pain from getting slapped by the people.

I personally find it funny that people say "i don't like Bush, so I'm not voting for him again." the funny part is that it's his second term and so he can't run again anyway.

true, free speech does pretty much mean you can "say" what you want. it's when you start teaching things like "american hate" on american soil, like some cases. there are a few mosques (synagogues?) where it's taught. but shit man, it's like someone walking in your house and then talking about how shitty your house is. typically, you'd want the people guilty of doing so, out. right? again, not all arabs are involved. but there are quite a few... and that's treason if you ask me. free speech or not.

yeah sure, driving slow sucks. but if people are late because they have to go slow, perhaps they should leave earlier. but then, if you still don't want to, side roads are great for going like 85 in a 30, and not getting caught.
