Ive been reading danish newspapers for the last two days and came up with some interesting facts that MUST be taken into consideration by all of you.
1. Fact: The conflict didnt actually start with the pictures of the prophet. It all started when a jewish teacher at the Carsten Niebuhr Institute was assaulted by islamic fundamentalists, simply because he had dared to read from their holy book... the Quran.
That began making fear, and some people that was planning on making a CHILDRENS BOOK about islam and the prophet Muhammed, soon found out, that it was hard to find a person who wanted to draw the pictures.
And that was the reason to why Jyllands-Posten published those pictures. They wanted the fundamentalistic parts of islam to know, that they do NOT have special rights or is going to get special treatment, when it comes to free speech.
2. Fact: 12 satiric pictures were made, each by a inividual artist and thereafter released by Jyllands-Posten 30. sept 2005.
3. Fact: The delegation presenting the islamic belief in Denmark presented 15 pictures of the prophet muhammed to the arab world. The three new pictures presented the prohpet as a pedophile, a pig and thirdly as a victim getting raped by a dog.
Noone know who and where the pictures came from, except the delegation itself. But its representative Abu Laban states that th pictures and other highly doubtable fact simply is "The truth, plus expenses!"
And that IS an exact quote from the newspaper ladies and gentlemen.
There is alot more facts, but i have to work on the translation.
As a danish citizen, i think ill share my thoughts and opinions in this topic, and try my best not to make anyone feel insulted by my thoughts.
First thing first. What the danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten did, was partially wrong. Yes, they had the full right to do what they did as free speech permits it... but... they should do it with that amount of respect any great religion should have. Making pictures of Muhammed with a BOMB on his head is NOT the way to do it!
Secondly what the muslim world is doing right now is wrong too. Yes, they might get some results, but its as morally correct as when the israeli is razing your homes to build walls to keep you under control.
And third... will everyone please... PLEASE stop burning flags and religious books off? Not only is it insulting the ozone lair propably doesnt like it either.

Its in Denmark. The politician made the statements in on her website where she wrote: "We propably have to consider other ways of action, for example recieving an russian offer, where they incarcerate our minor criminals in russian prisons for about 4 dollars for each criminal - Its much cheaper, and their options to affect their sorroundings will be eliminated. But even this solution is only temporary as they will return home, once their sentence is finished and then they will be more eager to kill the danish population." Note: By criminals, she means the muslim population that broke the law.
I must warn that my translation is not perfect, but this is what she said. After this became public known she became chaged for racism, but is still in the party as she has apologized for her statements and says that she wont make such statements in the future, unless shes certain that she wont be breaking the law with her statements.
Heres the original danish text from her website before she removed it for those who want to try to translate it better than i did:
"Vi må nok tænke i andre baner, og f.eks. modtage et russisk tilbud om at opbevare småslynglerne i russiske fængsler for kr. 25 pr. dag - det er langt billigere, og deres muligheder for at påvirke deres omverden bliver elimineret. Selv denne løsning er dog rimelig kortsigtet, for når de vender hjem igen, er de blot endnu mere opsatte på at dræbe danskere."

Its a political party whose ideology is Islam, so politics is its work and Islam is its ideology. But still they have succeeded to make themselves illegal in some scandinavian countries as a terror organization... though with the exception of Denmark.
Here in DK they are protected by a law that allows them free speech. Thats even when they are using the free speech to say that they want to dissolve the danish goverment and make an islamic state, even when they are encouraging their members to go to iraq and afganisthan for holy war!
Their former leader a few years back was arrested for illegal possesion of a huge amount of illegal weapons, enough to arm a small army. And one of his other friends in the organization was arrested for giving out fliers that read "Hunt them wherever you see them..." or something like that.
They were preferring to jews.
Still, they are allowed to hold public meetings and had at some point even begun recruiting members a the local schools.
Our goverment have told us they are going to see if they can find a way to illegalize them, but thats the third time they are trying and we havent heard anything for a couple of months now.
Would something like this be allowed in your country and if it is, would you accept it? What would you do to fight it?
And you americans are still wondering why many foreigners hate you?

I knew there would become a good topic out of this... and its amazing that people allways succeed in assaulting each other verbally everytime a topic starts.

Because when all comes to all, then that what it is all about. People who is having different point of views and simply cant get along because of that. American republicans and democrats has it. Europeans and Muslims has it. and last but not least, Palestinians and Israelis has it.
I just wish that someday people will sit down and think about how the other part looks at this situation. Why is it so hard to imagine that some israelis could sit down and try to imagine how terrible it must be for an palestinian to get evicted from his home just to see a total stranger move in and settle down in his home, where he had lived with his family all his life. Is it so hard to imagine for an palestinian, to sit and think about how terrible it must be to imagine how awful it must be for an israeli family to hear that someone they knew have just been blown up on their way to work by a suicide bomber.
Cant people just sit down and try to get along before we all end up in a situation where well get impressed when someone finds a new way to throw stones at the people who wants to take over the world with their sticks!
This is a opinion of a journalist in a danish newspaper. I have just translated it and shared it. And i think it will make a nice diskussion.
We live in Theo van Goghs and Hirsi Asis time. An epoch were university teachers gets assaulted by reading up from a book, where doctors, that has made their medical vow, is expressing their symphathy for stoning women and decapacitating limbs. We are now living daily lives where young kids gets beaten up in the bus on their way to school by muslim thugs, because they just sang a song about liberty and democracy... because islam does not like musik - especially not, if its connected to a national or christian heritage.
We have gotten new masters.
Two decades of multicultured ideology have collapsed. The immigration has proven to be an disaster, that is growing in size day after day. That integration, the population year after year have been threateneed and cowardised to accepted as a unreserable benefit, is pure postulate. There arent any integration. Reality is societydissolvement in muslim and nonmuslim parallelsocietys, that is getting more hostile against each other.
One by one is all the explenations the opinionelite, the socalled experts, failing. First was is the racism and hate that were the problem. When people stopped believing that, the explenation became the lack of integration and the growing ghettos with bad social standards. We are not giving the muslim immigrants and their descendants enough money. They are not given access to education. We are not giving them access to jobs. And then its not that hard to understand that they are getting wrong ideas or just wont let go of old religius ways.
That explenation were holding until that day the danish people could see a documentary on television, where a group of danish-speaking, high educated and well situated muslim women, sitting infront of their television giggling over the murder of van Gogh and the deathletters against the once holland muslim Hirsi Ali. "you cant talk bad about muslims" they explained.
A radical politician and member of copenhagens Citizenrepresentation Tanwir Ahmad, that also goes to college and too doesnt look like she is missing any material needs, used the ritual murder on the holland film-instructor to demand islamic critics judged at the danish courts, if they do not stop criticise islam. The goverment, is now taking on a fast learning process after the multi-ethnic fata morgana has faded away in the fog. But it will take some time before the danish goverment begins to understand how big the problem is.

In Denmark we can walk into the mall and buy alcohol and booze at an age of 14 years. You should be 16 to do it, but the danish press just proved with candid camera that people dont ask for id... only once did they ask for the minors age, but still sold alcohol.

I have not said that i hate them, that they should not be walking around or anything like that. And if a homosexual were to stand close to me im sure hell not the type that telling him to stand somewhere else, no i walk somewhere else. I, STAND SOMEWHERE ELSE!
