Just a question, but how sure are you of the reliability of that laptop?

Compared to a company "assuring" me of what parts they use and the quality of them?
Alot of it.

Im pretty sure your hard drive plays no part in them inspecting your internet traffic.

Personally I think it's making an elephant out of shitfly. I doubt ACTA will actually start scanning everyone's computer and dealing punishment over copyright material. If they were, like every single computer owner would be fined or jailed, casue every image you downloaded or video you watched online, you probably did so without asking permission first.

And they could lock down sites which show material which might use stuff without having explicit permission, but then they would have to shut down the internet and that just won't happen.

So yeah, ACTA will just be another regulation we don't have to care about.

I think this is what everyone hopes for, fingers crossed.
But yeah I know ED is ED, but it was pretty accurate as to what my friend told me about when he explained it to me, and when I wiki'd it, there wasn't much obvious information.

So Is Ng Ready For Acta? Posted August 23rd, 2010 in General

According to my friend in the military who knows important people, the ACTA is going to pass next month.

He explained to me what is to be expected from this but for those who don't know, I'll just link you to a ED page: http://encyclopediadramatica.com/Acta (all info checks out, with some humor added, its up to you to believe it or not, but I say it's not totally random BS, and you're better off safe than sorry...)

Excerpt that kinda relates to NG:

ACTA member countries will be required to provide for third-party (Internet Intermediary) liability. This means ISPs will face heightened liability for websites that even link to allegedly infringing content. Websites would have to proactively police copyright on user-contributed material. This means that Flickr, YouTube or even our beloved ED would have to employ a phalanx of lawyers to ensure that the mountain of material uploaded every second isn't infringing on anyone's copyright. Or they could just shut down. ISP-level content filtering could boil down to spiders that scan and check your hard drives to ensure copyright compliance.

Any thoughts about the subject? (Sorry if this is politics, but meh I think it's pretty important.)

Response to: Should Final Fantasy be "Final"? Posted June 20th, 2010 in Video Games

All I know is that I played FFVII, FFX and FFX-2, and I liked all of them.
FFX was dry but I found it to be a very good challenge because of my "not stopping to XP grind" style.

In fact, when you take away the XP grinding, they turn into a sort of complex Sam & Max game, where you have to experiment with lotsa things and find the best way to achieve what you have to.

Anyway, these games gave me good experience, and whether others suck or not, if there's a snowball's chance in hell that they make another sequel as fun as those, then I say keep 'em coming!
It could only hurt themselves, really. Unless you're one of those more emotional people who cry "They ruined my childhood!" and has placed a 5 trillion dollar bounty on Lucas' head for "raping Star Wars".

In which case I don't really give a shit about you.
Sorry...

If were talking about terroists who have managed to capture a nuclear missile silo place, america nuking them aint gonna do any real good because people of that country will be affected for something they didnt do.

If we were talking about a opposing country like North korea at this time, then nuking of there military bases would be a smart move if they were gonna use nukes.

Fuck that shit, if I wake up one morning to a nuke illuminating the sky and I die, the least I would expect from the government is to turn the middle east into the world's smartest pile of ash.

Fuck if we're going down alone.

PoP Trilogy is trolling me. Posted May 29th, 2010 in Video Games

So I reinstalled the Sands of Time trilogy on Windows 7, and got all ready to play it.
Then they decided to not detect my gamepad....

I have no idea what's going on. I played the very same games on Vista a year ago, with the exact same gamepad with no problems, but now I can't even configure the gamepad controls because none of the buttons are getting detected.

My gamepad's calibrated, all other games recognize it, but these just got up and said "Fuck you!"...

Someone please shed some insight to this issue before I jump out the window with nerdy rage!!!

They sometimes provide character bios or backstory to the plot.
Especially for old games, games these days explain things more thoroughly.
