I can see why Catholics are offended by this, too. But at least it'll give them an idea about how Muslims felt about those Muhammad cartoons.

To be fair, they made fun of muslims(in an albeit tasteless way, it still has nothing on the anti-semetic propaganda they publish), but Dan Brown implicated Catholics into a massive conspiracy regarding the basis on which their religion was founded. And again, to be fair, there wasn't violent rioting after it's publication.

Is fiction.

Plain and simple. IT's 100% fiction. You want the historical facts in it? okay, here they are.

1. There is a catholic church

2. There was a man named Leanardo Da Vinci who made several paintings

That is where the facts end. I can actually understand why catholics would be offended by this. It presents 100% fiction as historical fact, and depicts Opus Dei as a group of crazed fanatics. They're not, they are strict catholics, that's it. I don't think it deserves all the controversy. I'm just saying, it's fiction. And non, it's not a case of "some stuff makes sense". Because it is 100% fiction.

Obviously the Bible is a book, and I dont doubt for a second that it is as old as everyone thinks it is. However, I don't see why people believe in it without question. There is nothing proving it is more than a story book that caught on as a good idea and has stuck ever since. And this is a perfectly possible thing to happen. Just look at Scientology. It was only created back in the 60s or whatever along with that crazy set of books, but thats caught on.

So why do people believe in the Bible???

it's a matter of faith. There is proof of Christ's life. And let me ask you, prove none of the stuff in the Bible happened. Can't can you?

Well said, Devil's Advocate.

I can elaborate too. Jewish people are good with money. This steryotype has basis because for a long time, many jews were only allowed to have jobs that involved money, it certainly isn't 100% true(no steryotypes are), but there's basis. Brittish people are snobby. In all honesty, most of them tend to be. Black people are gangsters, you have rappers to thank for that, and the fact that many black people try to be gangster(I'm sorry, it's true). I could go on, but I think I've made my point.
