Fricken song lyrics that no one gives a crap about, and ducks face chicks who alway say "OHHH IM SO UGLY" just to get likes and compliments.

If you want any other sizes though, here are a few that I've used -
854 x 480 (standard 480p)
1280 x 720 (hd 720p)
1920 x 1080 (hd 1080p) - what i currently use

I only recommend 1080p if you can handle it, cos my pc only just about manages (I animate zoomed out)

Thank you a lot for the recommendations in pixel size thats just what i needed. I have a few questions, when you make animations, 1920 x 1080, do you upload them to newgrounds, and if so, how in the heck do you prevent graphic intensity? Thats a big thing i dont want to run into, which i already am. :( I could really use your tips to prevent graphic intensity which ive been getting complaints of plus im seeing it myself on my BRAND NEW laptop, which means its probably even worse for others. Please help and thank you for your advice!

Response to: Widescreen!! Posted January 12th, 2012 in General

I'm really considering 16:9, lets just say i made an animation in the newgrounds flash portal, would it look better for you guys to see it in a 16:9 or a movie ratio of 2:35:1 to make it professional? Im getting a bunch of 16:9 and i might go with that.

Response to: Widescreen!! Posted January 11th, 2012 in General

Here are some examples, if you were watching a movie or series you loved, which ratio would you guys prefer to make it more intense looking or awesome?

As long as the quality and size is decent I'm perfectly ok.

Its not really the size of your tv, its more of what ratio would you prefer to watch your movies or tv shows with? some are 4:3 others are 16:9 and i think movies are sort of like 2:1 dont quote me on that because im not sure. Im trying to make an animation and i want it to look as clean clear and as professional looking as possible without going over size limit or suffer from graphic intensity.

Widescreen!! Posted January 11th, 2012 in General

To those who love to watch shows and movies, which would you prefer to look more professional or more "intense" to add the feeling that you're watching an amazing cinematic movie? Some say 16:9 others say 2:1 what do you guys think looks more professional and intense looking?

At 1/11/12 07:36 PM, Wolfos wrote: Will affect graphic intensity (quite a bit actually), but not filesize. Don't think graphic intensity should be a problem, though.

Actually thats the big problem, ive been having troubles with graphic intensity and i need to figure out out to stop it, im trying to filter graphics through gimp instead, making sure every single picture is a symbol, graphics being graphics and movie clips being movie clips, im gonna start breaking the sprites for characters instead of tracing them because i heard that tracing them slows the animation down a lot. I also think that upgrading to newgrounds latest preloader, which i got with my ads Newgrounds API 3.1.0 AS 2 version also speeds it up. If you have any other suggestions it would great help me thank you. But until i do speed up the animations, if i do have a 16:9 or 2:1 <---is that movie ratio? like in the movies where its really widescreen, but anyways if i do have one of those ratios and i dont get this intensity thing fixed ill have to settle with a small widescreen animation like 600 by 300 or 640 by 360 so it doesnt become too slow. What i really want is to make it as professional and intense looking as possible by making look as best it can be, the biggest and either 2:1 or 16:9 which ever looks more professional as i can get without slowing it down.

So you want me to go to like 22:9? and this won't affect size, or graphic intensity?

Widescreen? Posted January 11th, 2012 in Game Development

I have been thinking about switching dimensions of my animations from 4:3 550px by 400px to 16:9 but the thing is, i want to create it in such a size so that my file sizes wont expand too much and graphic intensity wont interfere with the movie's speed. If you guys have any suggestions, it would be appreciated! Thank You.

Ad problems Posted January 10th, 2012 in Game Development

I've been having problems with graphic intensity, so i upgraded to the newest version of newgrounds ad, because i was running ads on my flash which actually seemed to speed up the animation, but the newgrounds API version 3.1.0 for AS2, the thing which is supposed to show the ads, it says that my API ID for the movie is "invalid" even though i copied and pasted the ID straight from the newgrounds page. I also put in the encription key or something like that in but it only mentions my API ID. It doesn't appear and all that appears in the debug code is
[Newgrounds API] :: ====== Newgrounds API v3.1.0 AS2 ======
[Newgrounds API] :: Invalid API ID: **************** <- The stars aren't really there they just block the code that I put in by the way. Please help!

To answer all of the questions, i've tried the animation on two computers, one is the high tech high speed pc and the other is my laptop. On the pc its pefectly fine, but, with creating and watching my animations with this new laptop made me realize what the viewer is actually seeing. Even with quality adjustments from right clicking the video its still slower than i want it to be. This laptop is new by the way, dual core, so it must be even worse for others. Yes it does have a preloader, its not the newest preloader from newgrounds, but its a preloader, and here is the sample i was talking about, my kirby vs zero animation http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/56 7375 I used to break my sprites for characters and backgrounds but now (for characters) i trace them to make them clean when animating. Backgrounds, i now just turn them from like bitmaps to graphic symbols. Thank you guys for helping me. And for the sprite expert if you could pm me that would be a big help.

Response to: Graphic Intense Posted January 9th, 2012 in Animation

Little bit more information, pretty much all of my animations are sprite-wise with mostly bitmaps, gifs, and maybe a tiny bit of jpegs. My software is Macromedia Flash 8, it uses Flash player 8 and i export it in swf as it should be for newgrounds.

Graphic Intense Posted January 9th, 2012 in Animation

Hey guys, I'm having a huge problem with my animations. My animations suffer from graphic intensity, or it causes computers and the animation to slow down dramatically at points. I've been checking out the quality buttons, but they don't do enough effect to cause it to run perfectly smooth like I hoped it would. If you take a look at my quick little animation, Kirby Vs Zero, the animation has an ad on it, and the animations plays at a wicked slower speed than planned. The animation doesn't even have that much going on but it still becomes very slow, which i don't want it to. If you look at Super Mario Bros Z 8, the animation plays perfectly smooth and easy with its highest quality and a whole bunch of graphics flying all over the place and it looks crisp and clean as well as the sounds too. Any help is appreciated, I need to get rid of this graphic intensity problem. PS. I would really like to keep the quality as much as possible, and it can be possible, again, looking at the SMBZ animation. It looks clear. Thank you for any help you give!

I need a voice actor who is really good at being a drill sergeant, a man who voice is clear and manly when yelling, but an average to a lower man voice when not yelling. he needs to be able to sell any possible emotion that someone in the military would experience, like surprise attacks etc. If you are interested and would like to try out, my email is mikel1015@comcast.net. email me, or pm me if you like!

cant find sound Posted July 20th, 2011 in Where is / How to?

i have been trying to search for one single sound effect for hours now and i cannot find it. i was wondering if anyone new what game and website the sound came from? It is the sound that alot of people use when sprite fighting, mostly smbz when mecha sonic hits something. one example is in ep. 3 of smbz when mecha hits yoshi multiple times in a row right after yoshi slams hit into the ground and ground pounds him. can someone help me find it? thanks.

its the part when yoshi throws egg, then ground pounds,-> then mecha sonic combo hits yoshi <-thats what i want

Why not just PM Alvin-Earthworm and ask him?

For not-helpful turds:
http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/32 3940
Pick the 4th scene.

Are you asking about the sound effect during this combo (pictured below)?

By the way, I think you'll enjoy some of the sound effects here, just in general: http://www.kyutwo.com/downloads/sfx/anim e/

yeah that point where its like bambamabambambam ive searched dbz sdfx and it never came up.

the reason why i never asked---
1. he hasnt been on newgrounds since like two years ago.
2. he must get like a thousand pms so i wouldnt bother him

thanks for the help
