LET MORTAL KOMBAT BEGIN.
Thanks for voting for Hippolyta; my life is almost complete. :')
1. It can be really hard to keep track of new reviews in the audio portal.
Talking about the personal "audio submissions" pages:
It's hard to see when you have a new review, because it's the same color and same font as when you have no new reviews.
When you're scrolling through your submissions you have to go really slowly and strain to pick out the 1s and 2s that indicate new reviews.
Also, it can be tough to keep track of if whether a new review is still new or not. They stay up for 3 days or so, but unless you're paying really close attention you won't know if it's a truly new review, or if it's one you've already looked at.
So I guess this could be solved by, using the term "_ unread reviews".
And when you visit the page that your song is on it would reset to "0".
This would probably also apply to the flash portal.
What would be ideal is a summary at the top of your page that says the total number of unread reviews without having to scroll through your submissions at all.
2. Multi-authoring in the audio portal would be great, as there are a lot of collaborations and things like that going on.
Thanks!
That would be faaaantastic,
@ some folks:
Ain't nothin' wrong with stick figures.
In WX's case if he can tell a clear story and make you laugh, it doesn't matter how complicated the design of his characters are.
People have different goals when they make animations.
Some are storytellers, some are comedians, and some make the best looking animations possible.
And they all deserve time-saving/art-improving tablets! :)

And I agree with the very first post, that punk music sucks ass.
hah.
Let me clarify something:
You could play the same good song with a guitar, a kazoo, or fruityloops and it will still be a good song.
Genre loyalty is the dumbest thing.
"A song must have a minimum of 6 chords per measure, at least three instances of double kick, and a piccolo snare to be enjoyable. "
Pfft, come on.
Also, there is no correlation between how difficult a song is to play and how good it is.

The music is absolutely retarded. Just 3 power chords and single string "solos" matching the main riff.
And the people that write the songs are people that have absolutely no value in life.
You're a big dummy!
Can I be a judge?
Ohhh, so that's what sorrowed tears feel like.

I agree, and it'd be nice if it stayed that way. :P
There are already some full bands that come and post music, and aren't active in the community in any way. I just wonder what they're doing here.
Because you're competing with a bunch of guys who are recording a guitar in their bedroom or composing beats with Fruityloops.
The question is how do you keep it fun and exciting for the AP community without attracting unwanted attention, and turning the AP into Purevolume?
The problem with the AP getting more popular and more exposure, is that more and more real actual bands with real names and cds and fanclubs will come to post their music.
If there was an actual real world benefit to posting your music here, then actual real world bands will come.
And you guys who are complaining will be relegated to page 2,000 of the ever increasing charts.

I do that too. A "sent" folder sure would be handy.
Hey, here's my second entry:
I felt compelled to try again after my first one got trashed (critically). :P
Best sorrowful song ever:

Just for, y'know, inspiration.
Oops sorry, didn't include the song title as per rule #4.

Is there like a chance that you can get like an update on when your favorite author(s) upload a new flash or collab movie? Something via PM or email.
I'm confused, because I already get e-mails when my favorite authors upload something.
hell yeah johnny rocketfingers.
Also, so I'm not being totally self-centered:

I'm not being shy just like you said!
One of the things that makes the audio portal great is how unpopular it is.
The more people it has the less you will matter. If it had enough "respect" real bands would come and post their music, and there would be no room for ng kids with guitars and fruityloops.
The audio portal ideally and in my opinion, is just for flash artists and fans of flash animations who happen to make music.
Fact is NG is a flash site, and it should always be a flash site.
If you want a site dedicated to audio this ain't it.
Yeah, Epitaph is a lost cause.
Fat's awesome, but they've been getting on my nerves lately. They seem ok with a lot more advertising and polish than they used to. At least they still sign great bands, like Western Addiction (<3).
Yeah, I agree that Bad religion can be boring and repetitive.
They've got a pretty epic logo though. :P
I was just wondering how you could fault them for being "corporate" but not those other bands which are decidedly more corporate.
You should give NOFX a few more listens though. Wolves in Wolves Clothing, is pretty mediocre for a NOFX album.
Try "So Long and Thanks For All The Shoes", and "The Decline".
They're godly, imo.

Bad Religion can eat a dick, they're a shitty corporate skate punk band. Pennywise, NOFX, and Blink
can also get after the cock feast.
Heres my suggestion for pop-punk/hardcore:
The Queers
The Ramones
Earlier Blink-182 albums
The Suicide Machines (steer clear of s/t, also they have a little ska)
Early Yellowcard
Operation: Cliff Clavin
Green Day
The Devil Is Electric
Descendents
Please explain your hatred for NOFX and Bad Religion next to your acceptance of this list of bands, because I can't make any sense of it.

iTunes does all the important conversions.
Here's how:
edit > preferences > advanced > importing > import using *your desired format*
Then go to:
advanced > convert selection to *your desired format*
And of course it's free.

Hardcore is a subgenre of punk rock and includes bands like Minor Threat and Black Flag.
