Mindchamber... that pre-loader animation was definitely the most inspiring thing I've ever seen.

I mean... WOW... it was just so friggin' good.

Yeah, he does. That's exactly who I thought of when I first looked at it.

Films like Ratatouille or Transformers - the one you mentioned - are completely void of "tweens".

Yeah, but they have a model to use. They don't have to redraw the model over and over again like 2D animators.

Are you sure that's the .swf filesize? If so, then you should probably optimize your music (make it a lower quality).

Its all made with FLASH and tweened

tweening robotsss

I know the original was FBF, I'm just saying that this is a simple tribute, and if you don't have a lot of time, then take the easy way out, lol.

You shouldn't be FBFing Robots. Robots have very stiff movements. I'm sure you could FBF it just as well, but with a huge robot is it really worth it?

This is why I think contests are better than getting sponsored.

You go in knowing that you probably won't win, so you make it to be proud of what you have created, and not to win any money. I mean, I'm entering Madness Day, not to win the prizes, but to make a tribute to Madness, and get my work out there.

I animate because it's my hobby, not because I want some extra bling. I think it is god damned pathetic if the only way you animate is if you're getting paid.

When I'm older, I do want to become an animator, but not for the money, just so I can say: I helped create that. I was part of something millions of people can enjoy watching.

This is basically my inspiration for animating.

I'd suggest getting used to it, or this will not be a very fun website for you. (Of course there ARE nice people here)

I guess that all walking cycles are pretty much the same.

No, no they are not. They are many different kinds of walking cycles in many different styles. The one you used isn't even a realistic one. Look at how the person walks.

Does anyone actually walk like that? With their hands in fists and walking like they're in some happy dream world?

Except I think that mine looks a bit messed up, or is that just me?

Yes, each frame your guy is moving over instead of staying in one place.

There is no way of proving this except for talking to my teacher Mr. Greg Shnurr.
I am sure you can find him on facebook if you really would like to. His Network is probably "Sacred Heart" Considering that is my school.

Listen, I'm not going to make an account on facebook just to ask your teacher a random question, lol.

All I'm saying is that I can't give it a good rating, considering a lot of people have done the same walk-cycle before.

If you go back and try to make one by yourself, with your own character, then I can give you an honest rating of what I think.

You're still learning, so it's good to use tutorials, but there's really no point in showcasing something a lot of us have seen before.

So, say 100+ layers on a scene with 5 people moving, would be normal in that case?

It depends. If you are FBF animating them, then no, it wouldn't really be normal. But if they are tweened characters, or just made with symbols, then yes it would be pretty normal.

If they were FBF you'd probably have 20- layers depending on the amount of objects in the background, or other important parts.

You're 16, Mario came out in 1985 or 86. (Can't recall) You weren't even born when Mario came out, so no, it is NOT your childhood. Later versions of Mario are, but not the original.

Randy would have been around 10 years old when Mario came out, which would mean it WAS his childhood.

Why don't you get your fucking facts straight before you start making ignorant comments about things you have no idea about.
