I disagree that RSS feed gives the same service as the site in question since RSS gives you information upon update regardless of the content. You cannot filter the RSS feed in a similar way. Say for example that you only want to know if they serve pancakes for lunch at the local lunch restaurant. Then you do not want to have the menu as an RSS feed every day. You onlu want to know when they serve pancakes.

To your questions.
-Users receive a link that deletes/deactivates the watch every time they get a mail. After deleting it they may add another modified watch

- Sites are polled for updates two times every 24 hour period. 7 o’clock in the morning and evening CET.

- If such HTTP errors are encountered consequtive times, the watch is deleted.

- If the user enters the same information twice he will get multiple e-mails.

Thank you very much for this thorough technical review. I will definitely change the site according to some of these comments.

In addition to technical details, I also hoped to get some feed-back of the idea itself. Would it be helpful to provide this type of service or could it be changed in some way to be more useful to users ?

I have tried to make a site that is useful and save time in contrast to Facebook and other time consuming sites.

It is basically an online service that monitors any web page (specified by the user) or a specific part of that web page. The section of the web page to be watched is defined by the user with a trigger word. E-mail alerts are being sent out containing the identified part of the page, when this part is updated.
The service can e.g. be used to require e-mail alerts whenever a cheap flight to some nice place appears or to retrieve e-mails when your bank changes your rate of interest. You may also choose to be alerted if your local newspaper writes about your neighbourhood or if there is a certain vacant job position available.

Since virtually any web page can be monitored, it is only your imagination (and knowledge of suitable web pages with relevant information) that sets the limits to what e-mail services may be required.

The service can be used without signing in or creating an account. The web address is www.coolairmail.com

Everything is created from free software such as Apache, MySql, Linux (Fedora), PERL

Any feedback is appreciated
