I have to disagree, not dissing your work or anything, but their corrections were much better anatomy wise than your art is. Here is why I whole-heartedly disagree. This image I am showing to the left of the two figures is traced from the image on the right. No interpretation, no style, nothing to change the basic anatomy.

Your anatomy was not spot on with that traced image vs your sketch. The thighs are too short. The arms are too gigantic and long. There are a lot of faults and they do not match up with the image you traced.
The only particular difference I see between the thing you traced and that person's correction is that the head is different (obviously), the torso is longer and the breasts are closer together, also her waist is smaller.
I even said it was stylized, it's pretty obvious it was stylized. However the anatomy was still better than what you posted and you could have done with taking some suggestions from it instead of passing it off purely on "stylization".
In terms of changing the basic anatomy, maybe they felt like you needed to start again from scratch? Maybe they were giving you a reference you could work off? But even so, they did fix up the basic anatomy, they edited your sketch. http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/1292266#bbspost23713494_

I don't know, it's completely up to you if you want to take critique, but I guess I just disagree with tossing it aside just because you think it is stylized. There is a lot to learn from it for sure even if you don't take everything on board and you could certainly have applied some of it to improve your drawing.
I'm sure you're finished drawing now and don't feel like going back and changing it at this point, and that's fine, but I guess I'm just saying for next time?

I think at this point you are going into your own style instead of the anatomy. I made some corrections and made some measurements and I came up with the best anatomy I could since new grounds was down for maintenance. I think it turned out nicely and now i just need to finish animating it.

PS. seeing if this bg matches the forums'.

no, no, hell no. i really love anime, but even i'm willing to admit that 98% of it is absolutely fucking awful.
but then again, so are most tv shows nowadys.
what there needs to be is that people bring back old shows. then i would actually turn on my tv and start watching it for the first time in like 5 years.

Response to: Anyone have an anime type style ? Posted August 22nd, 2009 in Game Development

um, well, it depends on the particular style you want, doesn't it? do you want more cutesy new style stuff like tokyo mew mew, do you want more old style stuff like Interstella5555? Do you want something more high tech and flashy looking like the VOCALOID2 designs? you're not really making yourself too clear there.

also, please post the music, because most people aren't going to be interested without any sort of an idea of what they would be working with. :)

if you do decide to post music, please let me know. and here is a picture of mine, not that i have any particular "style", per say.

Anyone have an anime type style ?
